I kinda love this place. Great stop on a visit to the coast or the Tillamook cheesery. The line can be intimidating, but there's a decent amount of seating inside. We tried a variety of things. The chowder was super creamy and solid. I got the fish tacos (twice now) and loved them. Really nice fry on the fish and balance of flavors. Best I've found in a long time. Will be my go-to upon return trips, for sure.

We went on an Oregon coast road trip starting in Silverdale, Washington and this was by far our favorite stop for food! The staff are amazing and I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a laid back eating experience this is it. The food was excellent. I loved the tuna. I would love to figure out how to recreate the recipe since my son went nuts over it (it was his first time trying tuna salad). The fried calamari strips were a table favorite too. Very child friendly and easy to hold conversation with the family and friends while you eat. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If we were closer to home we would have bought fresh seafood to go because all of it looked very fresh. Check this hidden gem out!

Fried oysters galore...... if you want an awesome place to eat this is it... we went for the all you can eat oysters and ate till our bellies were gonna burst.... Comes with fries too in the first basket. Staff kept out baskets full and were friendly. It has a few tables inside which we ate at since the weather was a bit misty. I thought I posted this when I went but I guess I never did. Someday I hope to make it back up there for some more

The view was great, the fish & chips not so much.

It was an unfortunate meal for us. We both love halibut fish and chips so we stopped in on our road trip. I guess the reviews led us astray. I'm giving 2 stars, one for the clean operation and attentive service, the other for the views of the bay while dining outside. Sadly, the halibut seemed like it was frozen and pre-battered somewhere else. It came out looking flat like it was cut out with a cookie cutter. The taste was mealy, dry and dull, even the tartar sauce didn't help. The best way to describe it was, it reminded me of those old TV dinners my mom would serve me as a kid on Friday night while watching "Flipper". Luckily we got a few raw oysters on the half shell that were decent. I really was hoping for better and expected more considering I trust Pacific Seafoods as a supplier. But honestly, I don't think we will be back. Truth...

This is the perfect no-frills stop for the freshest seafood in the area. We had just finished the self-guided tour at the Tillamook Cheese Factory and wanted to escape the hullabaloo of the crowds swarming in line for ice cream and lunch. The Fish Peddler had been at the top of my list of seafood to try when we were in the area. I wanted to avoid Mo's as well, and this place looked excellent. Don't expect fancy when you come here. It's basic but there's plenty of indoor seating, with some outdoor tables as well. You order at the counter and the staff give you a buzzer to alert you when your order is ready. We were already set on ordering the oysters and the clam chowder, so that's what we got. We waited for around 10 min and then our food was ready. The clam chowder was so good! There were lots of clams in the chowder and the potatoes were tender and perfectly-sized. I loved the consistency of the chowder as well. I may not be a clam chowder snob, but I know good chowder when I taste one. Of course the oysters were the star of the show. They were served with lemons, horseradish, and cocktail sauce. I usually prefer mignonette sauce but that's fine. I saw they had an option for cucumber mignonette but I didn't feel like paying for it that day. I know it's only $1 so next time. Regardless, the oysters didn't even need much of a sauce, they were beautifully briny alone. While we tried taking our time enjoying the seafood, it was safe to say that we also devoured everything. We sat outside enjoying the sea breeze and the views. The Fish Peddler is definitely a must-return for us the next time we visit the OR coast!

Omg! Best meal I've had all year. Everything was tasty and so fresh. Stopped in on a whim and it's going to be a staple every time I make the drive! The crab was sold by market price ($18.99/lb) and it was 2.4lbs, if anyone was curious!! I worked in a fish and chips place in Seattle for years and this fried platter was truly to die for!

Solid option for seafood on the coast. Counter service. For getting a decent seafood option on the coast that won't break your bank this place works. Their fish and chips usually uses rockfish. The clam chowder here is actually really good (not as salty as many other places) and worth getting. I had the Captain's platter which came with a few fried oysters, clam strips, shrimp and rockfish. It was a great sampler platter. Small retail counter is there for those that want that. View is nice depending on where you sit, you get to see the ocean.

The food here is fabulous. We were planning on visiting a local oyster farm but later found out they were closed on Sundays so we had to change our destination as oysters is what we were looking for. That's when we discovered the Fish Peddler. The oysters here were delicious. We went with the dozen fried and dozen on the rocks. I'm not sure what oyster varieties they were but it looked like kumamoto's based on their size. They were also sweet. Ordered some marinara and horse radish on the side with some lemon slices. In addition we grabbed a small calamari salad, clam chowder and Captain's Sampler (fish, oyster, calamari) and Fish Taco. The taco seemed generic so probably avoid that next time. Everything else was spot on. Our 1.5 hr drive from Tigard was well worth the journey and it's always a pleasure driving through the Tillamook Forest on Highway 6. The restaurant is on a pier and there is plenty of parking. The view of the water is beautiful with surround land area. The workers there were friendly and there's plenty of seating both inside. There's probably about 5-6 bench areas but we decided to pop open the lift gate of our SUV and eat there while watching the water. This location is about 5 miles North of the Tillamook Factory in case you all decide to check out both places.

Generous, fresh, lovely seafood. Had a few oysters and fish and chips. Maybe I would take a half star away because the fries don't appear to be fresh cut on the premises. Love this place though...super vibe, super service, casual and fun.

4.5 overall rating here. My boyfriend gave it a 5 because it's the best Dungeness crab he's had in his life, and I'm giving it a 4 because the fried clam strips and chips I got were okay. His enthusiasm about the crab makes me use the 5 star rating. He's still beaming over it. The employees are pretty sweet and helpful. There's a lot of stuff you can buy as souvenirs. Clean restroom. Would return. $70 total for two meals and one bottled drink. Plenty of free parking in lot.

Was recommended to go here by a local and was excited to have dinner here with my family for my birthday. Location: You'd think that it's on a pier and you'd have views of Tillamook Bay. Nope. There are two small tables aside the window where you can get a partial but obstructed view. All other winders are blocked so you can't even see outside. Service: You order at the counter and they call your number or you're given a buzzer. Nothing special about service. Food: Decent but nothing to return for. Decorum: Nothing special, and disorganized. Will not be returning when in the area.

This place is a pretty solid meh. We ordered the crab and shrimp melt and got a grilled cheese sandwich with ground crab meat mixed with cheap pink shrimp (probably frozen). The clam chowder was way too thick with flour and the fried oysters were overcooked. Their tartar sauce was terrible. The best dish was the oyster stew. I would not stop here again but I have seen worse. Sitting outside in the sun was nice though

    Cool place!

Great place to have chowder and wow the menu has some other things on it that will bring me back. We had chowder in the breadbowl and that was excellent, bread was fresh and very tasty. The cioppino was serious full of fish and clams oysters and crab. The red sauce was spicy but not hot and very savory. Had a half dozen oysters and those were excellent as well! Place is simple and has benches around and a small dining room, nothing special but the food is good and the placement on the peninsula offers some bay views.

One of the best parts of the experience is that you get to pick out the exact crab you'd like; they are then cooked and cleaned for you right on the spot! They also offer clams to steam and oysters that you can shuck yourself if you're looking for a variety. After selecting your crab, you head inside the shop to pick out chips, canned sodas, or something from their variety of beers and sauces to pair with your meal; just don't forget to grab your butter, garlic, and lemons before paying! They also offer oyster shooters in a souvenir shot glass, though be warned that they are served frozen; you may find yourself finishing your meal with them instead of starting with them by the time they finally thaw. The crab was obviously super fresh; truly, nothing beats eating it fresh out of the pot! We also noticed they have a number of back-in RV sites overlooking the water; that is definitely something we'd consider for a future stay. If you're looking for an authentic, hands-on coastal experience, this is the place to be!

Our family did the Oregon Coast Scenic train from Rockaway Beach to Girbaldi. The layover in Girbaldi was very short, 25 mins, and we were looking to grab a quick bite and water. The conductor suggested the Girbaldi Bay Market. The markets 'deli' was closed (it was 330p) but had pre-made sandwiches to choose from. The slender, short, light brown haired lady at the register came over asking if we needed help, we asked about the made to order sandwiches and were told only the pre-made ones were available. Ok, fine. Then asked about the advertised fried chicken, that was also not available. Alright. So then one would assume there was nothing more to 'help' us with. We say thank you and carry on. As we are sorting thru the medicore selections, the lady is standing there staring at us with her scanner in hand with an obviously annoyed look on her face, LIT.ER.AL.LY rolls her eyes, whispers something negative to the other cashier and goes back to her sheets of barcodes. I apologize for not knowing what we wanted and she just stares at me as if I was inconveinencing her by bringing her business. I don't want to assume this treatment is reserved for 'outsiders' or those with more melanin but it makes you wonder. Having a heavy service industry background I'm always taken aback when confronted with unprovoked rudeness. I can't speak for the rest of this small town but I would recommend getting your liquor, deli, small market needs at the next gas station (Cheveron) or better yet - just blow through this dying town altogether.
