Chicken Noodle Soup is always delicious especially in cold chilly weather

Always delicious. I love the lunch specials Pretty restaurant to eat in. Does great take out as well.

Yes,....Pad Thai at a Chinese restaurant

Great service at this family owned restaurant with a vast selection of food. Really wanted to go thai but my dining buddies wanted Chinese,...but in the end I got what I wanted, a really large plate of tasty pad thai. Had a nice serving of egg drop soup first. Nice decor at this restaurant and easy parking. Highly recommended Old Peking! Have never been disappointed coming here.

This restaurant has been on my radar for quite a while. Yet we only recently made our way there. They have been opened for almost 33 years which speaks to their popularity---and we now know why having been there twice at this point. We found the staff to be friendly, polite and efficient. The dining area is small yet you don't feel cramped. As for the menu, we liked that there were some old school entrees that aren't often seen in Chinese restaurants these day. For example, they have moo shi (chicken, beef and pork) and moo goo gai pan. They also have a few Thai entrees (Pad Thai and drunken noodles, for example). Each time we've been there it has been on a Sunday around 5 p.m. At that time of day, few people are dining in. However, they seem to do a robust take out business. This is what we've tried so far: Soups---hot and sour soup, wonton soup and egg drop soup. We both agree that the hot and sour soup is just okay as it seems to skimp on both the hot and the sour. My husband had wonton soup and said the broth was mild and the wontons were generously filled with pork. I tried the egg drop soup. Some Yelpers feel it's the best they've ever had. Since I hadn't had egg drop soup in years, thus I can't really make that claim. However, it did have a nice, mild flavor as well as a silky texture. Entrees --- chicken with garlic sauce, moo shi beef, ma po tofu and Hunan beef. My husband was really impressed with the chicken with garlic sauce saying the garlic flavor came through very clearly. I only sampled some of his and agree about the garlic flavor. I had the moo shi beef and was quite impressed. The beef was of good quality---very tender. The plum sauce, however, was flavorful but very thin. I would have preferred a thicker consistency. This dish comes with 4 pancakes. Just beware that the portion is huge! I ended up taking half of it home. The leftovers held up very well---even the pancakes. My husband agreed with my take on this dish. None went to waste. The second trip, for entrees, we had Hunan Beef and ma po tofu. Again, the beef was excellent! We enjoyed the flavorings but we wished that there was a better variety of veggies in it, rather than just broccoli, button mushrooms and carrots. Seeing the button mushrooms was a disappointment as this dish tends to have straw mushrooms. The ma po tofu, which is a vegetarian version, was quite good. It had just enough spice in it and the tofu cubes were cut on the large size. Again, button mushrooms showed up. This dish (which I sometimes make at home) tends to have shiitake mushrooms in it. We plan to return again and try more dishes. Just note that not all chicken dishes have white meat in them. Some do---and they charge more for all white meat. Others only have dark meat, and some are a mix of the two. So, if you like chicken and want white meat, be sure to ask when you place your order.

ordered dinner tonight at 16:22 pm cost $117.82 {with tax} If you are considering of ordering here, please go elsewhere!! The spring egg rolls and the crab Rangoon they were either cooked in old oil or they were re-cooked either way I paid for this garbage! The Orange chicken white meat and the General Tso's white meat was extremely dry and also tasted like old fried oil. When I called to complain, the woman who answered the call- was apologizing profusely. Then she stated the next time....I wouldn't give her a chance to finish the statement. In a restaurant Quality control must be maintained at all times there is no next time. When companies go on the defense right away and then get mad at you, you can only wonder why? If you have money to spend on a meal, don't spend it here. If you do, you have no one to blame but yourself. I hope I don't get sick with what I've consumed! We were happily greeted in and seated. They weren't too busy on this Sunday evening. For apps we decided on the crab guacamole, peel and eat shrimp, and the fried trio- Oysters/Calamari/Shrimp that came with marinara and a roumalade. I noticed a Chipotle sauce that came with another shrimp dish and asked for that instead. The chips were fresh and tasty. Guac was also good the crab sat on top the guac. Peel and eat shrimp well seasoned with old bay. The fried trio was amazing as well. Everything perfectly fried and the Chipotle sauce delicious! For mains we went with the Chilean sea bass and lobster special. Fish and lobster was well prepared in a creamy sauce on top of mashed potatoes. Delicious and the potatoes were plentiful. We also tried the Chef's Ocean Elegance - Seared scallops and crab stuffed shrimp on top of garlic mashed potatoes topped with green onion and mushrooms in a lemon caper sauce. Everything was pefect!!! We noticed the happy hour menu with lots of delicious items. We may be back before we leave to try it out!

We were unfortunately served the branzino topped with only the Chilean garlic sauce and not the lemon caper sauce at all. The server wasn't seeming to know what to do with our dissatisfied reaction, so we decided to salvage the fish and ordered the lemon caper on the side, it tasted bland at best. Fish was fine, but unfortunately there was nothing worth mentioning positively about it for its $37 price point. *Neither sauce was worth ordering and unfortunately neither tasted how they were described, more like plain aioli. In our ignorance, we didn't realize branzino meant the whole fish would be served versus a filet. It would have been nice to have been able to read that fact on the menu prior to ordering. We ordered the truffle fries, which had probably zero amounts of truffle on them. Overcooked. We ordered the tropical mojito mocktail, and it was either poorly made or the recipe could use a complete reset. The crab stuffed mushrooms and sauce, amazing. Server, kind. We were asking quite a few questions of him, trying to decide between the Chilean with lobster or the branzino, which showed our ignorance in the fish choices, I believe. A good server would have picked up on this, and went into a much more detailed explanation of both dishes to educate and inform us on making the right decision. So I think it's pretty accurate to say that a good majority of the problems we had could have been salvaged had he been a little more seasoned at reading the individual needs of his customers. Although, with ordering either of these entrees or the truffle fries, we would have been disappointed as the flavor was just not there. Being out of towners used to seafood from California, we were excited to try a new place on the east coast. I read multiple positive reviews from other customers, and unfortunately we are leaving disappointed in the $80 spent. We joked that perhaps the usual chef called in sick and the bus boy took his place. Underwhelming. Overcooked. Bland. But, they had pretty tables.

We've had plenty of bad experiences with Chinese buffet seafood making us feel sick--pretty sure I'm not the only one--but that has never happened here. The food is always freshly steamed and served hot when you order. I'm not a big fan of overly salty, heavy American-style seasoning, so I really appreciate that they can prepare it without all that. Also, my daughter doesn't eat much seafood, but they're flexible and let us order something simple like a mozzarella stick for her, which is a huge plus. Yes, there's an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more, but it feels fair for the quality and service. The gumbo you can order on the side is amazing, and the crab legs, mussels, clams, and shrimp are all fresh and delicious. It's $58.99 per person, which isn't cheap, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

But, overall enjoyed it! They give you gloves and a bib so you can dig in without worrying getting too messy. One special thing they have on the menu is their ramen side. I've never seen this at other crab boils. The ramen is so tasty in the garlic butter sauce. It was my favorite part and I kept going back for more! We ordered another platter of seafood and were stuffed! The service can be improved. Our waitress came by a few times but not enough to get refills on our drinks or other things we needed.
