Without a doubt, this pizza joint is a whole in a wall! On the outside, it looked like a small brick with a neat logo & as soon as you walk in, it is quite the experience. The managers were very kind, approached and made the customers feel like they stepped into a small Italian home. The pizza made there is a specialty craft that is a must see. As a foodie, I was happy to see the unique flavors and creative menu choices. As a vegetarian or vegan, there are also delicious options for you. All my friends and I are vegetarians, in which some pizza places are accommodating yet mediocre in taste for their options, but this restaurant was not! This is BY FAR my favorite pizza place! My boyfriend and I come here all the time and sit at the bar. We always start with a craft beer and meatballs. We then venture into a Blanco pizza along with a Caprese pizza for the WIN! We could (and do) spend hours here just chatting and stuffing our faces. The Centerville location is fantastic to host a group. Food is excellent and they have a great beer selection. So so The pizza was decent we ordered a deluxe that comes with mushrooms. We only wanted mushrooms on 1/2 we were charged $1.00 for mushrooms????? Asked for a bottle if plain water was charged $3.00. When the pizza came without the water we were told they don't sell plain water only sparkling. We were asked if we wanted the sparkling we said no. The server did bring us a refund, never offered us any water or other drink possibilities. Hubby and I visited Old Scratch Pizza this afternoon. We had visited the Dayton location previously but had never visited the Centerville location. We came in mid afternoon and sat outside on the beautiful patio. We decided on food and then ordered. We started with an order of hot olives which are fantastic and vegan. I ordered the vegan salad and hubby ordered the angry beekeeper pizza. We both enjoyed what we ordered and had a good visit. I'm holding back a star for a couple reasons. First kudos for trying dairy free and vegan options, but only one salad dressing option was vegan. Possibilities totally exist here. There's already a create your own pizza option but it would be great if individual items were labeled vegan, dairy free, gluten free, etc. It would also be great if there was the same option for salads! Plus please more than one vegan dressing option! Also there is really no service so to speak of. You order at the counter, get your own drinks, and a number. You even bus your own table when done. While employees had time to check their cell phones, no one checked on us. Potential here, but no quite awesome yet. We'll be back but I won't be a regular yet. read more

This is my 3rd time giving them another go. Once again, total disappointment. Pizza toppings NEVER stay on the pizza. Always slide right off. This time asked for it well done to avoid that nasty uncooked middle and praying for the topping to be cooked into the dough a bit yet did nothing but provide me a burnt crust. The Mediterranean Salad, gross. Dressing, gross. Only thing that rocked was my Door Dash driver who also grabbed me a bottle of wine. I need it after that meal! i have ordered pizza from Old Scratch in Centerville and eaten in many times. Today, Saturday April 13, I ordered 3 pizzas. I arrived early to pick up my order and was told it was just coming out of the oven. That could not have been true. All three pizzas were cold and had obviously been sitting for awhile. I ordered an Angry Bee Keeper, my favorite Old Scratch pizza. Imagine my dismay to find my pizza had ZERO honey on it in addition to being cold. The White Pizza was tasteless; we wondered where the garlic was. The Mr. Scratch pizza was barely passable. What a huge disappointment and enormous waste of money that I cannot get back. Oh, and don't try to call them; the recording will say they are too busy to talk with you but you can leave a message and they'll call you back. I wait with baited breath!. This place looks bigger with more room between the tables to move around. The pizza is the same quality as the downtown location. It's great! This pizza takes me back to my work trip to Milan, Italy. The crust, fresh toppings and the sauces made in house really set Old Scratch Pizza apart from the other pizza places. This is not your usual pizza joint, it's better. The beer selection is great! They have a lot of craft beers from local breweries to a beer from Rome, Italy! Old Scratch Pizza also has mixed drinks made by great bar staff. My absolute favorite pizza in Dayton! The new Centerville location has a great energy...part from the decor and the other part from the people (staff and patrons). Everyone is friendly, welcoming and fun and there is plenty of parking. The managers/owners(Eric, Erin & Shawn) always make time to come say hi and chat a bit. The food is always on point and I love everything on the menu...you can order the classic pepperoni or my favorite the Brussel Crow (Brussels sprouts, bacon and apple cider vinegar glaze). The hot honey is a great addition on any of the pizzas. The salads are large and fresh, the roasted cauliflower with romesco sauce is delicious , and they have crust dippers! They offer a specialty punch, great beers, really good cocktails and wine...what more could you ask for?! Perfect place for date night, family night or an event/party. Old Scratch Pizza is our new favorite pizza joint and and we're so glad they opened this location. If you're looking for real pizza then look no further. Dining here took us back to our the time we spent in northern Italy while in the military. We order the Mr. Scratch with tomato sauce, house-made sausage, caramelized onions, Calabrian chilis, fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil, which was baked in one of the wood-fired brick ovens that looked to be imported from Italy. Our pizza arrived quickly and everything was perfect from the crust to the sausage and everything in between. We were so pleased with the pizza that we ordered another one to go. The setup here is great! There's tons of room with plenty of seating and an all glass front that lets in plenty of natural light. There's a bar with a great selection of beers and some video games to keep you occupied while waiting for your meal. You can even watch the team build your pie and we saw several kids watching the magic happen. Service was great and there are plenty of friendly staff to provide whatever assistance you need. We even had the owner or manager (both maybe?) stop by our table to welcome us and say thanks for coming in. Overall we had a superb experience and plan to make this our go to pizzeria. read more

Met up with a friend for dinner at this new location. We had the Sophie Mae pizza, Italian sandwich, meatballs and Roasted cauliflower. The pizza was unique and a good combination of flavors, however, little lacksy on the toppings. The sandwich was like a stuffed thin crust pizza...crunchy and good and if I come again that's what I'm ordering! The cauliflower sounded interesting but was bland, boring and overpriced ($10). We each had one bite and left the whole thing uneaten. It needs jazzed up for sure! The meatballs were just....ok. Restaurant was clean and casual. Not so sure I'd return very often tho.
