If I see any food that is weird, wacky, or fun, I have to try it! I saw a video of the crab rangoon pizza at Old Shawnee and I was surprised to learn it was right here in KC! Usually food items like this are found in big cities like LA or NYC. It was my mission to try the crab rangoon pizza. But, upon browsing the menu, I spotted a mac n' cheese pizza that peaked my curiosity. This was yet another food item that I have been wanting to try. So, the inner foodie in me got both pizzas to split with some of my friends. We got the small size for both pizzas. The menu says it is 6 slices, which is technically correct. But, the slices themselves are quite tiny. I would say the full pizzas were just a bit bigger than personal size. The crust on both pizzas was pretty thin and lacked flavor. It was more like a cracker than a crust. The crab rangoon pizza was a let down for me. I mostly just tasted the sweet sauce on top with a hint of cream cheese. On the other hand, the mac n' cheese pizza was as glorious as I imagined. Cheesy macaroni topped with more cheese on a pizza is any cheese lover's dream. If you come here, you have to get this!! Overall, I enjoyed my food here. While the crab rangoon pizza was a let down, the mac n' cheese pizza was a home run. I would have enjoyed a bigger pizza and better crust for the price I paid. But, that won't stop me from coming back for the occasional specialty pizza that I can't find anywhere else. read more

Monday is definitely the day to go. We had $3 32oz beers to start. Server brought us breadsticks (if you sign up for text offers at the counter the breadsticks are free) and if you order a large pizza for the Monday night special price of $9.99 (they will discount a specialty pizza as well) you get two free kids meals. That combined with the Yelp Check-in offer of 20% a large pizza made this an affordable night. We had a Tuscan Chicken pizza. The chicken was sysco pre cooked, pre sliced. Not cooked on site, but not bad for me. I liked it. However one of my mates did not care for the chicken at all. The second pizza was the Luau pizza with bacon, pineapple and almonds. Bacon makes everything better. Prices for a specialty 12 cut pizza were up there....$23. Little hefty for me. Glad to be there on a discount night. My only gripe was that the salad came out with the pizza instead of prior to the pizza. Would have been nice. Did not care for the green house dressing but that did not kill the salad. Overall the crust was thin and a little flaky for my taste, but good nonetheless. Next time we are in town we'll be back. On a monday! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Per usual, lackluster service, overpriced pizza, and extremely long wait times. The pizza is always good, but this place is so inefficient in so many other areas of a restaurant it ruins the experience and is not worth paying the money. We had a group of about 15 people with 8 kids included. They forgot to ring in all of the kid's food and the adults were done eating pizza (25-35 minute wait time) and boxed before the kids received their food. They forgot a complete round of drinks in the meantime and didn't discount any tickets. The togo situation is a complete joke with the registers being dead center, creating complete chaos, at the entry point of the restaurant. They bank on their location being where it is in Lenexa/Olathe area because there is nothing else out there. So therefore they make zero effort to be better. This is their reputation in all of their locations. Therefore it is not the employees that are the problem. It comes from the top. Be better. read more

I ordered online and went to pick it up from the store. That process was fine enough, except the girl who brought the pizza to the car said that will be $43.03. I had already paid online and she said okay and let us go. We got the Italian Paradise pizza and it was amazing! No complaint there. We also ordered a small buffalo wing with two cups of blue cheese, which we were charged for. We did not get our blue cheese dressing. The wings were not fully cooked. I stopped my boyfriend midbite and told him it didn't looked cooked and he said you're right but how often do you get undercooked chicken from a restaurant and ate it anyway. He ate three of the wings and and two hours later pooped his pants while making a beer run at half time. I was ready to let it go and just toss them in the air fryer tomorrow until he soiled himself. I would give it 1 star if the food wasn't as good as it is. The service was absolutely terrible. My waiter dropped off a menu. Never asked me if I wanted anything to drink, would anyone be joining me? Walked away where I proceeded to watch him check his phone and take his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead and wipe it off on the front of his shirt. I tried to get the attention of anyone working in hopes they would see I could use service. I went for the live music but the bar area was closed. They said it would open when the bartender got there but they didn't know when that was. A picture fell from the wall, hit my table and almost my head. Nothing from my waiter. He just watched. Stopped by here today while waiting for my car to get serviced next door at Goodyear. Pizza sounded good for lunch and this place had good reviews, so I decided to stop by myself. I was just expecting a cool little pizza place. Little did I know the unique variety of specialty pizzas they offer! I haven't had Crab Rangoon pizza since I left my hometown as I haven't seen it anywhere else. I was very glad to see it on the menu here and it was delicious! I also ordered some garlic knots. The lunch special for the pizza included an oversized side salad. If you're hungry, you definitely get the bang for your buck here with the lunch special. Cool atmosphere as well. This is probably one of my favorite pizza places in the Overland Park/Lenexa area! Every time I'm working in the area, I try to make a point of stopping by to try one of their signature pizzas. My first visit I tried one with alfredo, broccoli, chicken, tomatoes, and more, but it seems that they don't have it on the menu anymore. While this is a bummer, they still have some awesome choices. The creamy Italian was a hit for me and my boyfriend. The last time we visited we tried their lunch special and it was a great deal. We both got mini pizza combos. I picked the crab rangoon pizza with a salad and drink. This was the perfect size for this pizza - so creamy and wonderful! He got the same combo, but picked the Smoke stack pizza and garlic bread. He was disappointed at first glance that the pizza didn't have more sauce, but the flavor was INCREDIBLE! BBQ sauce was not needed! With these combos we were able to split sides, which made for a perfect lunch! I've only ever carried out, but the staff is usually nice and helpful. My order is typically ready by the time I arrive, I've only had to wait once. I've only been disappointed one time - I ordered a caprese pizza but didn't want the artichoke hearts. This place is ridiculous. I purchased $20 worth of coupons from a school fundraiser. On the coupons it promotes the fact that they are available via Menufy and Uber Eats. Except 90% of the menu is permanently "sold out" on Uber Eats and you can't use coupons on Menufy. Ok, fine, so I call in to place an order and was rudely told they don't take orders over the phone and I have to place an order online. I then go to their website where it clearly states "coupons cannot be used online". So now I'm stuck with a book of coupons I can't use without going in, and I'm sorry but if I'm going out to eat it won't be to this place. Don't participate in fundraisers and promote services you can't follow through with. What kind of a delivery pizza place doesn't take phone orders either?!?! read more

The pizza and other food is fantastic. The specials are good too. The bar staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing though. I sat at the bar for 15 minutes while the bartender put together to-go orders and made drinks for the tables (this was 4 pm and there were at least 3 servers doing nothing who could have done the to-go orders). She didn't even greet me so after 15 minutes I just left. When dining in at a booth different times the drinks were also incredibly slow to come. And once we never got extra plates so ate our pizza off our used salad plates. So, service is a 1 and the food is a solid 5. read more

I have been to OSP around 3 times and probably gotten takeout from them a handful of times as well. The pizza has a nice crispy, thin cracker crust that you don't find at many other pizza places in the area, and I am a big fan of it. This is a good contrast to a lot of the other doughier places around town. I really only got standard pepperoni and cheese (if a place can't do this classic one, then they can't do good pizza!), but in addition to the satisfying crust, it had a good balance of cheese, saltiness, and oil -- let's be honest, you do want some of the later two in your pizza. The interior of the restaurant is worth seeing. It has an interesting look like it is some place out of time. Like a western saloon feel but made for a kid's birthday party ... but beyond my curiosity in the interesting interior, it is a very chill place -- you can definitely kill some time here and it seems like the kind of place that would put a game on TV. As much as I like the pizza, it is a 4 star because of the value. The thin crust + average diameter + price means that you don't get the biggest bang for your buck. I think I probably got the large pizza a few times and it was more like a medium anywhere else. I will have to try the "Biggun" to be fair next time though. read more

We tried this twice and will not be back. We love the idea of a local pizza shop but in my opinion it is very expensive and low quality. The main deal breaker was a takeout order we received where the order of wings that were so obviously burnt and inedible but still packaged up and provided to us. We called after receiving it and after sending them a picture we didn't feel the issue was fully addressed after not being refunded for that inedible item. Excellent thin crust pizza. It's a regular lunch spot during the weekdays especially Monday lunch (double punch) and Tuesday. Service is always excellent and nice to see familiar faces every week. They have a large selection of Italian food and very nice selection of beer, wine, whiskey and bourbon. I recommend trying the meat locker pizza but I have tried the combo I'm just not a black olive fan. And I tried the crab Rangoon pizza and it did not disappoint. My husband and I were in town for a wedding and looking for a quick spot to grab some dinner the night before. Yelp led us to Old Shawnee Pizza which was nearby and boasting 4 stars! It's a casual restaurant with high top tables, booths, and TVs. This particular night they even had a magician walking around entertaining the tables with kids. Our server was super down to Earth, and when he found out it was our first time in he gave us a free side salad just so we could try their awesome creamy garlic salad dressing. No joke - the best salad dressing hands down! I can see how this dressing would be addicting like he said. It's a bit deceiving, because it's a creamy green dressing, but boy is it tasty! Their salad is good too with romaine lettuce, cheese, pepperoni, and veggies. We started with their cheese crust appetizer which was really good. Be careful though, because it's literally a bunch of delicious bread and cheese so it will fill you up! It came with marinara and garlic butter dipping sauce. Yum! For my main meal I went with their fettuccine Alfredo. It was listed as a house favorite and I had a taste for pasta, so I went with it. The pasta was good, but honestly nothing special. Just your typical fettuccine noodles with a creamy Alfredo sauce. The portion size was spot on although I wasn't able to finish all of it after that delicious cheese crust and sample of salad. The service here is great, it's a nice atmosphere and they have a lot to offer. Their menu includes salads, sandwiches, pastas, and of course pizza. Old Shawnee also serves beer (and maybe even a full bar menu?). We don't live in the area, but if you do it seems like the perfect (chill) spot to watch a game. read more

We stopped off here as my daughter loves Mac and Cheese on her pizza and this place has the Mac Daddy Pizza. I am so glad we found this place. After a day of running around with two pre teen girls this was the break we needed. From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Our server was great. He checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed but did not pester us like some servers can do. By the time we finished our meal I made the comment to my wife that if we lived near there it would probably be a regular place to visit. Sadly we are just in town on vacation. read more
