Back in June I saw a facebook post about crab Rangoon pizza being the crab Rangoon snob I am I wanted to try it so I ordered 2 to be shipped to me. After several weeks I didn't receive them so I emailed and they replied, apologized and said they'd send them out. Great, great, great. Awesome service, great food, icy cold beers, great music, nice atmosphere and good menu. We stopped off here as my daughter loves Mac and Cheese on her pizza and this place has the Mac Daddy Pizza. I am so glad we found this place. After a day of running around with two pre teen girls this was the break we needed. From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Our server was great. He checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed but did not pester us like some servers can do. By the time we finished our meal I made the comment to my wife that if we lived near there it would probably be a regular place to visit. Sadly we are just in town on vacation. read more

Great Pizza option added to Northern Olathe/Southern Lenexa. Though my taste in pizza is now gravitating toward the Spin! & Pizzabella rather than Minsky's or Old Shawnee Pizza (my first ever visit to OSP) I have to say I will be back. The makeover of the space is very very nice. They maximize a smaller space by lining the outer walls with booths and a few tables. Still feels roomy while being almost cozy with the use of wood throughout. OK so you go in and feel comfortable, what about the food!?! There are several lunch specials. I went with the personal pizza with drink and side option. Knowing I needed something other than carbs I passed on the breadsticks/garlic toast and went with the house salad. Yes it is iceberg lettuce. Still it is a larger size and has carrots, cheeses a couple pepperoni slices and . . . no dressing. Wait, the dressing comes on the side. Wait - it is in a squirt bottle! AWESOME! I was able to control the output of dressing and felt like a TOP CHEF using a squirt bottle to make fancy patterns with dressing. OK, I didn't feel like a TOP CHEF but it was fun and I was surprised I was able to use less dressing but distribute it much better. What about that dressing? House GREEN dressing? It is tasty. Don't know why it is a weird shade of green but it is garlic something and pretty darn good. I will go back on St. Patty's day just for green dressing. Pizza: Good crispy crust. I went all meat as I like my veggies on pizza when at the above mentioned pizza establishments. Plenty of toppings, good flavor. I was worried I would be needing a gallon of water to offset the salt intake (like some other pizza establishments which I won't name here). I was pleasantly surprised, no salt thirst ever hit me. Okay, so the pizza is good but I don't suggest ordering a half-and-half. You know, when you can't decide between two pizzas so you just order 1/2 one flavor and 1/2 the other?? A half-and-half!! I digress. Our pizza half 2 slices of pizza with very little toppings on them because it appeared they were afraid to get the two flavors too close together. Ummm...just let it happen, chef. I'd rather have them slightly overlapping than a few slices of pizza that are little more than plain crust. The pizza is really decent. Not my favorite, but I liked the crackery crust and the flavors were good. Also...and my absolute biggest freaking pet peeve ever! The waitress asked if we'd like to start with a salad. We both opted in for that. Our garden salads were ice berg lettuce, shredded cheese, and FREAKING IMITATION BACON BITS!!! Blech blech blech. If you look at the menu, there is bacon as an option for a pizza topping...I'm guessing it's not the gross bacon bits that come in a plastic container and taste slightly like smokey dog food. In addition, the salads were $5 each. They were not worth anywhere near that. I guess we assumed they'd be a couple bucks. Pretty sure most places charge like $2.99 if you order a pizza and get a salad. But over $5 for no actual vegetables in a salad is ridiculous. And THAT is why I'm giving a 2 star review. We both ordered a single beer and our bill was close to $50 after tip because of the price of the salads. read more

A solid neighborhood favorite. Salads are great and the pizza is always good. It's a thin cracker style crust . They chop up the Canadian bacon which is now the only way to have Canadian bacon on a pizza. Nice beer selection. They now sell all sauces in a mason jar and do refills!!! read more

I must say OSP is our go to. It's right up the street and the food is pretty decent. I LOVE their garlic bread. It's my favorite. But the pizza and mac n cheese is really good too. We usually will go up for dinner when we're just not feeling like cooking. They staff is very friendly. But sometimes they have a few people working that don't know exactly what they're doing. It's not a big deal to us. But it's not good when we take friends in from out of town and we get our pizza but their salad never came. Things like those type of blunders happen. So don't be surprised if you get a server who brings you beer instead of water. Haha! Like I said it's not a big deal to us. We like it and we just roll with it. read more

This place is great! It's super close to my house, has great happy hour special on domestics and a huge variety of menu options. We came in the middle of the afternoon, but there were several people sitting at the bar and we felt like the "outsiders" interrupting there meeting. The service was descent and the food was delicious. We got the spicy pig pizza and the flavor was incredible! The only critique I had was that for being so slow, the table we sat at was kind of dirty and hadn't been fully cleaned. However, I would definitely go back. read more

To start, the food is pretty good. The only reason we don't go here often is because the service is not great by any means. Very hit or miss on if you will get decent service or not. We have sat our entire visit with empty drinks before waiting for refills, on more than one occasion. It's always hotter than hell in this establishment, no matter the time of year. It's very uncomfortable of a place to be honestly. However their food is not good when you carryout. We live within walking distance to this location, about a three minute car ride if that. Our food is always terrble by the time we get it home. we only ordered out twice from here and never did it again due to the fact, the food was so terrible. By the time we got home, we threw it out. I don't know how it doesn't make any sense to me, but it was not good. We would give them other chances due to the fact, their food is pretty good. But we don't go there very often based on the fact that their service is absolute trash, unless you get the male.manager he is good but always very busy running around. I can't vouch for the sandwiches or pasta, but we had an order of spinach artichoke dip and a "biggin" Tuscany Chicken pizza. Man, this place is expensive! For what we paid, the ingredients on the pizza seemed low quality. The spinach artichoke dip had that "fresh out of the microwave" quality - and the basil flatbread that came with it was tasteless and went uneaten after a couple bites. I would describe this place's crust as a cracker crust, which is fine, but it didn't seem fresh, wasn't crisp, and just made me feel sick after a piece or two. After reading the lavish menu description of the Tuscany Chicken, I was very disappointed by the actual taste. Let's talk price. Even after using the Yelp coupon, somehow the total was over $40. I've been here a few times on my lunch with my coworkers. The group i come with are in love with the salad dressing. I have to agree it's pretty tasting. I've had a couple of their mini pizzas with salad and their meatball sub. To be honest, I don't feel like their pizza is overly impressive when you have other places fairly close that have better. The meatball sub though was probably one of the best meatball sandwiches I've had in the area. It comes with lays -plain- chips (which I don't eat) you can pay an extra $2 for a salad, but that puts a lunch around 10-12 including tax and then add any gratuity on top of it. Not a great experience. Ordered a pizza with light sauce, got no sauce. Incorrect toppings. I pointed it out to the server who said NOTHING. No offer to make it right. The bill came, everything was full price. I paid, and the new system is a handheld credit card machine. I paid, tipped and then the machine asked me to rate my experience with a thumbs up or down. This is my 2nd 5-star review of a small, local pizza joint in just a few days, and not too long after my husband and I bemoaned to each other the lack of good pizza in Kansas City. Well, good pizza does exist in the metro, and you can get one at Old Shawnee Pizza. My sister-in-law made a huge carryout order and they got it done right and in a timely manner. We started with an order of meatballs, which were succulent with hints of fennel. The red sauce that accompanied the meatballs complimented them nicely. But the pizza was the star. The first thing that I noticed was that the toppings were plentiful; no scant 3 slices of pepperoni or sausage or whatever. No, they cover the pizzas with cheese and toppings. The crust had a little bit of crispness, but wasn't cracker-thin, either. This isn't a gourmet pizza, but sometimes all you need is just a delicious slightly greasy slice of pizza--and OSP delivers. They have gluten-free pizza and attempted to cater to our request for no cows' milk on the gluten-free pizzas (they sprinkled a tiny bit of goat cheese on them). It's too bad that we don't live closer to Old Shawnee Pizza. If we did, this would be our go-to Friday night pizza place. As it is, though, we'll definitely make an effort to swing by when we're in the area for a good pizza pie. read more

Ordered Takeout pizza and a large Caesar salad. The pizza 's are pricey compared to Minskis and Puzza Hut. Their diverse offering warrants the occasional exception. I was surprised that they did such a poor job with the salad; not Romaine but iceberg lettuce complete with two cores and an additional lump. I will eat there again but not for takeout. read more

The ownership is very involved with Twitter so any issue at either location is quickly answered. I was able to attend the friends and family event this last week and the food was delicious, soda and beer cold and people friendly. Add it to your Lenexa Pizza options immediately! read more

Solid offering of pizza from OSP. My wife and I visited OSP when we were going to the neighboring Price Chopper for groceries. It was overall a good visit. The menu looks nice with a broad amount of choices including pastas and sandwiches as well as pizza. We ordered a two topping large as well as some chicken tenders to start. The chicken tenders and the pizza arrived at the same time, which is a bit of a problem when you order the chicken tenders as an appetizer, but I digress. The chicken tenders tasted good. The pizza was very good. Love the crispy crust! Top marks in my book for that! Very good place and not too far off from us. We live in an odd area where some of the big name pizza places won't deliver because their GPS tracking system can't find us, so finding a place close by with good pizza makes me happy. Staff is friendly but service is slow and pizza is just so so. Went for dinner after reading all the reviews and was really disappointed. There were 4 of us, nothing special ordered pizza wise, all had water and still managed a $55 bill. Bottom line is average to below average thin crust pizza, really nothing extraordinary about it. I did have a side salad which looked like something from Wendy's across the street, so save your money and find another place; like Minsky's or Suteras where despite some slow service you'll at least leave full and happy about what you spent. read more

They should train their managers in basic conflict management (example-listen to the customer, don't call them a liar, and try to fix the issue instead of talking over them and responding like adolescent). Issue was over an online order (which you have to pay them a "convenience fee" although you're the one doing all the online work) and refused to acknowledge or respond in a normal way as a business/professional.
