    Veggie
    Lisa G.

First time here.. My friend got take out for three of us. I ordered the veggie which was tasty but skimpy. I would have rated this place higher if I wasn't still hungry after eating my sub. It had good flavor but needs more ingredients...I don't like feeling like I'm being ripped off, I just want what I pay for. A sub roll with little veggies. I don't want to compare it to subway, but I get more veggies from subway :-(

Since I've been traveling a ton for work, I've been getting my sandwich game on any chance I can get and Old Station hit it all for me. When I was driving there I was a little hesitant and then I pulled and this is exactly what I expected out of a local Phoenix spot. The outdoor dining, the inside decor, it was great. I got the station sandwich and it was delicious - loaded with all the toppings, plus avocado, turkey, ham, and Swiss. I also tried out the tuna sandwich, Italian, and turkey. You really can't go wrong. Price - oh so affordable! 4 sandwiches, 4 chips, and 2 drinks for $42. In Denver that would have been upwards of $70 so I'm here for it all! All in all, I know I'll be stopping here every time I'm in town.

Smoked turkey, avocado and cheese with sprouts wrap, with a spinach tortilla

Met a friend for lunch who works in the area, and I wasn't expecting a lot from the location but WOW! Really cute decor, big front and rear patio, inside is small and "cozy" I don't know if it was a special written on the board outside, but I had the smoked turkey, avocado, cheese wrap with sprouts and I opted for the spinach tortilla. The place was busy but the staff moved quickly and it was surprisingly fast and efficient. When food arrives that fast I always think "uh oh!!!!" My wrap was fantastic everything was so fresh, the turkey was extremely moist and had a good flavor avocado and sprouts were great. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. At $8 dollars just for the wrap is a little pricy for the area but I appreciated the freshness and uniqueness of the place. The location is not really convenient for me but I will go out of my way at some point to try something else.

Great fast service! Generous portions and homemade quality ! Posting a pic of the stuffed avocado that my friend got and I had a tuna sandwich on rye that will be two meals for me that's how big they are - yum!

We got the Zinger and Here Comes the Sun breakfast sandwiches, the potato sidekick, kale salad, and botanical drinks. I love that they have 2 caffeine free "tea" options! The eggs in the sandwiches were the perfect level of just slightly runny. And I don't know what magic bread they use but it never feels overly heavy. The potato sidekick is amazing! I would order that again to take home and serve with dinner. I love the kale salad and it never disappoints. Cool and sweet and getting your greens in is a win! Huge fan of Zooks and hope someday they can open a central Tempe location!

It's not a huge sandwich, so keep that in mind. The breakfast sandwiches don't come with sides so that was kind of a bummer as my brother got chips or a salad with his lunch order. The latte was very sweet, but I enjoyed the flavor. I love almond, and it comes through strong which was nice. Not a huge coffee flavor though, so maybe an extra shot of espresso will be the trick next time. The service was nice though. We were greeted and walked through the menu and process, which was cool. They have an orange juice machine and some nice alternative options to choose from, so I'll be interested in coming back to try them.

They couldn't find my order and I couldn't get any information on my phone. I decided to reorder and told them I would just dispute the charges if there was a double charge. They offered to give me the sandwich for free but I said no. They rang me up with a $3 coupon and quickly made my sandwich. When I got home I looked at my computer and it appears the order didn't submit after all. It was all my mistake, but the team at Ike's was so nice and went out of there way when I was there. We just don't see a lot of good customer service anymore and especially in fast food. I appreciate the small acts of kindness.

As I was doing so, I heard someone repeatedly yelling "Ma'am, ma'am" from across the restaurant. When I looked up, an employee at the far end of the restaurant continued calling out to me. After I acknowledged her, she loudly stated that I needed to read the receipt because there was a second bag included with my order, adding that they did not want me "calling up here complaining" that I had not received everything. What was most upsetting was not being informed that there was a second bag, but rather the manner in which it was handled. The employee shouted across the restaurant in a way that drew attention from other customers, and the comment about me potentially calling to complain felt unnecessary and disrespectful. I was embarrassed, and everyone nearby appeared to be watching the interaction. Had someone simply approached me or politely informed me that there was another bag, I would have appreciated the assistance. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and shocked by how I was treated over what was clearly an honest mistake.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Cheba Hut is a cannabis-themed sub shop eatery, and parking ended up being manageable. The place was very busy when I arrived, so I grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was clearly juggling a lot but stayed friendly and personable. The place was super clean, and I immediately loved the laid-back neighborhood vibe near Roosevelt Row. I ordered the French dip sub along with a munchie- pretzel nugs. Cheba offers three sandwich sizes (Nug, Pinner, and Blunt), which makes ordering easy depending on your appetite. Everything came out fresh and flavorful, and the pretzel mugs were especially good, soft and salty, Parking here is a little more limited than some other locations, but overall I really enjoyed my first visit and was happy to learn there are multiple Cheba Hut locations around town. I'll definitely be back.
