Food is good but beware, you may be treated poorly. I had placed my order in advance and, upon arriving, went to the pickup area, located my bag, and proceeded toward the front to fill my drink. As I was doing so, I heard someone repeatedly yelling "Ma'am, ma'am" from across the restaurant. When I looked up, an employee at the far end of the restaurant continued calling out to me. After I acknowledged her, she loudly stated that I needed to read the receipt because there was a second bag included with my order, adding that they did not want me "calling up here complaining" that I had not received everything. What was most upsetting was not being informed that there was a second bag, but rather the manner in which it was handled. The employee shouted across the restaurant in a way that drew attention from other customers, and the comment about me potentially calling to complain felt unnecessary and disrespectful. I was embarrassed, and everyone nearby appeared to be watching the interaction. Had someone simply approached me or politely informed me that there was another bag, I would have appreciated the assistance. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and shocked by how I was treated over what was clearly an honest mistake. read more

The food is always good and the sandwiches are huge. I want to shout out the staff who work there. I had ordered a sandwich on my laptop and walked a few blocks to Ike's. They couldn't find my order and I couldn't get any information on my phone. I decided to reorder and told them I would just dispute the charges if there was a double charge. They offered to give me the sandwich for free but I said no. They rang me up with a $3 coupon and quickly made my sandwich. When I got home I looked at my computer and it appears the order didn't submit after all. It was all my mistake, but the team at Ike's was so nice and went out of there way when I was there. This place isn't as good as I remembered. Had it in San Diego and the dutch crunch was to die for! The sandwiches at this location is decent but the dutch crunch bread felt over baked and super dry. I got the thanksgiving one, tasted good. Also got the meatballs one, great. Service was very slow, unsure why it takes over 10 mins to make sandwiches with no other customers. Never greeted when we entered. No customer service. Workers stayed in kitchen and refused to make eye contact. There was 10 people in line and no one came to help ring up orders it was all through a tablet which asked a bunch of questions. Watched while waiting in line the cooks did not change gloves as they made food then cut up boxes which were on the ground then returned to making food. Workers were rude when you asked for help. The downside was, I had to use the computer to order. I couldn't get the employees to break away from what they were doing so I wasn't able to make the sandwich how I wanted. When you don't have a real person taking your order, you're at the mercy of the auctions you can find on the computer screen. I only wanted a turkey but had to settle for a salsa or something like that because it was the closest thing to what I wanted also was unable to substitute for regular mayonnaise because I was using the computer screen instead of a person. besides this one issue of not being able to order with a person, everything was good. It took about 15 minutes from when I walked in until I got my food. The place was pretty clean. Parking was very difficult to find. Used to enjoy coming to this location, but no longer. Didn't get greeted when I walked in. In fact, the staff didn't even look my way. There was someone utilizing the kiosk (which was apparently the only way to order) and as the line grew longer behind me, the staff didn't seem to care. I am glad for all the vegetarian options Ikes has, I told my co-workers about them, and now they are hooked on the Love and the Sandwiches. My go to is the Sometimes Im a Vegetarian, veggies are fresh, yummy sauce and bread, and the prices arent bad either, under $12 for a large sandwich (could be for 2 or two meals). I've been excited to show this spot to my wife for months now. We have tried this location before and unfortunately it was closed, but no big deal, we tried again today. Although it was open for business, we stood at the counter for almost ten minutes with no acknowledgment from the staff. One dude was making what I would assume were a ton of online orders. I first heard about Ike's on Man Vs Food. I have wanted to try it ever since. It's my birthday and we decided to head downtown to grab lunch. We parked close in metered parking and we're welcomed in. There are options for everyone, vegetarians and meat eaters. They have different breads, sides and also burgers. I decided on the Going home for Thanksgiving and the hubs got the Top Gun. The top gun was shredded bbq chicken and cheese with lettuce. The Thanksgiving had cranberry sauce, turkey, sriracha and havarti cheese. The bread is delicious and we both really really loved the sandwiches. Different than other sub shops and it was great. Each sandwich was served with a Carmel apple sucker. I totally forgot how much I used to love those!! Each sub was $11 and change but worth it for the quality and options available. We both cannot wait to come back and try the other delicious options. Each sandwich's bread is topped with a garlic aioli before adding your choice and the flavor is great! One of the better sandwiches I've had.
