I was given an appointment time of 11:15am and I showed up early. My dog needed to be seen for a severe cough. My dog and I were conducted to an exam room at 1120. At 1150, after thirty minutes with zero interaction from any staff member, I took my dog back into the waiting area and asked if we had been forgotten about. A staff member took me back to the exam room, asked a few questions, and said the vet would be with us momentarily. Twenty-five minutes later, again, no contact with any staff member. No one came to see us, no one even looked in the door. I am deeply dissatisfied. This was not an "emergency-squeeze us in appointment" -- Old Town AH doesn't "do" emergencies. This was an appointment that the staff scheduled. I've used this clinic since 2009, for 5 different dogs. It is really disheartening how badly the service has degraded since Dr. Hicks retired and the practice was gobbled up by PE. read more

Vet techs and Doctors are very caring and competent. Dr Blackerly diagnosed problem our dog was having, explained different options for treatment and provided plenty of information on the condition. We have used this vet for 20+ years for our dogs. Unfortunately, they have gone downhill since Dr. Hicks retired. I raised health concerns with the rabies shot they use. They refuse to order any another brand because I was told they personally hadn't had any bad experiences with the one they use. Want the best for your pets? I truly believe in and trust old town animal hospital with my baby and all of his needs. Since we got him when he was a puppy, we were going pretty frequently for vaccinations and each time the staff was friendly and took care of him so so well. The real kicker is that unfortunately he was diagnosed with mites at 4 months old so he would need to go in every week for 6-8 weeks and get a dip treatment. Despite being out through a not-so-enjoyable dip every week, he was still excited to go in every time. The employees loved him as they do every animal and they really take the time to get to socialize with the pets. I will start by giving a good portion of review to how quickly I was able to get in. And out. I was a little bothered with the veterinarians, who seemed to give me attitude about a prescription and talked over me nonstop where I couldn't get a single word in. I already had at home a medication he was trying to sell me and he kept saying three or four different times that people mistake medication's. I literally had it in my purse knew the name of it and still got attitude about not purchasing from them. When I went to check out the front desk receptionist was one of the rudest I've ever met. She didn't even look me in the eye. (Very long dark wavy hair) When I asked to see a receipt before paying to know what I was paying for she rolled her eyes at me. and then I still continue trying to be friendly and said thank you I just wanted to make sure I wasn't paying for anything I didn't approve and she just put my credit card back on the counter, didn't even look at me and didn't say a word. Didn't smile. You shouldn't hire front desk people who aren't friendly. I will probably be going back to my other veterinarian and just using this hospital for major emergencies. read more

Our boxer also needed a small lump removed from her eyelid and a spay surgery and it was much cheaper than what we had been previously quoted at our former vet.
