YAY! The coffee house is open again. I was a bit timid to come in with the new ownership. I wasn't sure if it would have that same vibe, but it does. Just with a splash of renovation. It was very busy in here over the three mornings I came for coffee and a pastry. I fell in love with the Blueberry Cheesecake Croissant and they made my White Mocha perfect with a little extra sweet. There were many dogs coming to visit the outside seating areas, which was an added bonus. My only complaint was they didn't have any nice souvenirs with there logo and Florence Oregon to take back home to people. I was looking for keychains and another car sticker to add to my automobile collection. They did have coffee cups, and I really liked their design, but I like more of a wider coffee cup, so I didn't grab it. They do have punch cards, which are cool to grab a punch whenever you are passing through town, and I highly recommend coming here. Florence has more than 4 coffee shops which are so warm and let you work/study and enjoy the view. Today's cute coffee shop is Old Town coffee, got toffee latte, though it was a bit burnt, I gulped it as I enjoyed plants and the view! This is a bug cafe with lots of paintings, plants and benches/sofa to sit down and enjoy your cuppa. My friends got Latte, Bourbon latte and White Choc mocha. We enjoyed chatting and the barista was friendly as well. read more

Service was great the girl working is so nice!!! None of this is aimed at the employees. But why the actual frick would you charge 50 cents for ice and 50 cents for a card fee. You're already serving severely over priced coffee, but to tack that on is bizarre. I am all for supporting local businesses but not when you're gorging money out of the people supporting. read more

This is a beautiful well lit little space with levels and lots of seating as well as art and locally made jewelry. I did not experience one iota of the negativity or rudeness mentioned in other reviews. On the contrary, the owner gave us a free coffee when we guessed the trivia question and made friendly conversation with every person there (even with the family from Venice California so I don't believe she openly hates Californians either). Not sure what the other reviewers saw as rudeness or if they caught someone on a bad day but I for one had a lovely time. Oh and the coffee is the best I've had in Florence. read more

Dog Lovers Beware ! To start with, this coffee is located in a perfect location and has pretty good coffee and pastries ! But, I've had family members warn me that the owner is very rude. The first time I went I was pretty shocked at her treatment of customers, but wrote it up to she's having a bad day. Tourists can be trying. I was in the restaurant business for 25 years. So a couple weeks back, needing a Latte' , I gave this little shop a second chance. As I came to her shop pushing my stroller with my little dogs, her dog ofcourse barked at them. They barked back. I covered them, as I do with a blanket and they shut up. I thought her shop was dog friendly since she had water out and a nice little sitting area for people with dogs. But when I went to sit down while my husband went around to order a Latte' ... she came to the door and said " if those dogs are going to bark, you need to leave " . I was actually shocked because it was her dog that created the barking by barking at my dogs and my dogs got covered and weren't barking when she said this. When my husband asked what I wanted I told him, if she wants to be rude about to me my dogs, we'll just get coffee elsewhere. She said " good, you can just leave and take those " SHITTY LITTLE DOGS with you " . Now keep in mind, my dogs only barked for a minute till I got them quieted. It was outside as we walked up to the little yard in back. I asked around to several owners of shops around there after this, and yes, this is a common factor. She's very rude to locals, business owners and tourists. And yes, she makes it very known she hates anyone from California and has shockingly and rudely verbalized this to several people who told her they were from CA. They've been as shocked that she can get away with such horrible treatment of some people as we were. It's a known fact in this town that she's very rude to some people, but they use worse words for her. I was even more shocked to know she's the owner. Needless to say, we won't be going back and we will tell everyone we know about our experience. read more

Me and my wife had coffee at Old Town Coffee and Gallery recently. Best place in town....sorry ...only place in town for organic coffee & tea I think. What better option for your morning cup of Joe. Why would any sane person drink pesticide, herbicide, glyphosate, etc.soaked anything? Plus fresh home baked pastries and sweet treats. Wide range of designer teas. Friendly & fast service. Like the lack of dogs and their owners.......definitely a plus for us. Seating inside the gallery with beautiful tasteful local artist works.....no weird pentagrams etc. as decorations. Beautiful ambiance. Nice view of the boardwalk. A really cosy, relaxing and uplifting experience. Outside seating with a fountain and the occasional bird drinking from the fountain. This was a mixed cafe experience. The place is nice, with old wooden floors and an interesting and homey ambiance. You'd think some nice quilter lady owned with all the art and crafts for sale. Instead, there's a big gruff, edgy fisherman type. An army veteran with a framed emblem just inside at the door. He was certainly decent enough with us, and I was careful with him but I don't think that a customer should feel like they have to be careful, they should be comfortable. It seems like he is really 'over it' and that was a bit unnerving. The coffee was good, and the sweets seem home made but I have the feeling that the next time we pop in here on another road trip there will be a "gone fishing" sign on the door. -or maybe just For Sale. read more

This seemed like a great place to get coffee, instead the owner was so rude. She complained about making three different flavor of smoothies, implying everyone should get the same so it was easier for her. She also made a comment when we didn't leave a tip on our card (because we were going to give her a cash tip). The only reason for the two stars was that the drinks and coffee were decent. read more

Went into this shop and ordered a coffee and a pup cup for my dog. The owner explains how she has never heard of a pup cup. I told her it was just a bit of whipped cream in a cup. "How much do they usually charge for that?" She asks. I explained that it's free. She explains "no way she's doin that" and launches into a rant about whipped cream prices. The counter employee was VERY rude regarding masks. Not everyone requires them. Every other place is very friendly when communicating their requirement. This explains why the other coffee shop is so busy and this place is dead. I suspect the attitude carries forward into other aspects. read more

Let me start off by saying I am not a Starbucks fan. This place is no Starbucks thankfully! The coffee here is rich and delicious, not bitter,, the apple strudel was heavenly and the barista was friendly and helpful. They also have some beautiful art, jewelry and assorted gift type items for sale. This place is near the boat docks at the far end of old town and set back from the road a bit. It's next to a really good ice cream shop and they have their own parking lot. Can't wait to go back! read more

Nice little local coffee and gift shop. They have an enormous selection of flavored syrups and some home made goodies. I had a Mexican Mocha with whipped cream and it was very tasty. The lady at the counter took pride in her work and was friendly and chatty. There is local art for sale in the store also. The space is very bright and feels cozy. This little coffee shop is everything a person could want when stopping in for a fresh cup of coffee. The coffee is brewed right in front of you while the owner chats with you and makes you feel totally welcome and even pampered. The shop offers numerous syrups for flavored coffees as well as the usual expresso, Coffee Americano, latte and all the others. But the most amazing things at this wonderful little shop are the homemade pastries. Several varieties are offered and I bet each is wonderful. I had the blackberry coffee cake, baked on premises fresh that day made with blackberries hand picked just before baking. I tried getting an Iced coffee and a smoothie, they need to change there menus. and don't get me started on the owner Julie. Out of the two excellent coffee shops in Old Town Florence (at least the two I'm aware of). This is my favorite. The place has the feel of a small kitchen that is making better coffee than you can probably make at home. They just set up a filter and pour the hot water over the coffee right in front of you - brilliant! Their pastries and snacks are all hand wrapped in plastic baggies which just adds to the charm. The decor looks like someone just started running a business from their own kitchen. I mean that as a compliment. It works well for this place. Coffee was good for what I like. Service was friendly and prompt. Snacks were also tasty. Only issues I noticed were there didn't seem to be outdoor seating and it's not very visible from the main street. If you love coffee like we love coffee - this is the place for you. We stop in this place every time we are down this far south on the coast. Best coffee in Oregon. (Starbucks who???) The store is adorable with a cozy, comfortable feeling to it. Close to the waterfront, so the view isn't bad either. I left this place feeling ripped off. Their pricing is misleading and they like to nickel and dime you. If you thoroughly look over their menu and catch the "small print" you might have a better experience than I did. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and I thought it was going to be $3.25. Because that's the price they showed next to lattes. When I was told the total it came to $4.75. I asked about the price and she said we charge extra for a shot, extra for the ice and there is a 50 cent charge for a debit card. This is the rudest establishment I've entered in years. I waited in line for my turn to order and the very pleasant woman behind the counter noticed when someone pushed in line in front of me and then spent over 5 minutes at the counter while I waited. Then I found a table in a coffee shop full of large tables being taken up by one or two people. We were a party of four so I found 4 chairs to sit around the only table left, a very small table. Another staff member took one of the chairs away without saying anything and when I explained that there were four of us I was told "it's not all about you sweetie". When I went to the counter and asked to make our food to go, becuase of the situation, the woman continued to say "it's not all about you sweetie. That wasn't rude. " I then stepped outside and the woman told me I'd have to kove as she was going to drive uer vehicle right where I was standing in front of the cafe. After that she continued to verbally abuse me as she walked by. I'm disgusted enough by this cafe to download this app just to write my review. I actually feel bad for the other staff member as she was apologizing while the tirade continued against me. I will never be back and I recommend that nobody step foot in this place. read more
