BUYER BEWARE! I would highly advise purchasing a vehicle from this shop. We purchased a Subaru, drove it and things seemed fine, were told by Calvin that he trusted the car and would drive to California that night and not think twice (and they come off incredibly sincere), so we offered them an amount that was less than asking price, but still more than it was obviously worth, and was literally all we had for one decent vehicle for our family. Being familiar with cars and working on them to repair smaller things, I knew we would have some things here and there that would need to be fixed. Comes with the territory. Our concern was major components. First day owning it, took it to the drive thru car wash and the brand new windshield starts leaking water inside and electrical stuff starts going crazy, hazards blinking on and off, doors locking and locking, etc.), and not long after there's a weird rattle suddenly when downshifting and I notice the A/C blows hot air. So I contact them and they said bring it in. We go in and they have the car for a day, can't find a rattle, they resolve the AC issue and also an issue with the radiator being too close to the frame and then proceeded to apologize as stating there's no excuse for not catching the radiator and A/C. We discuss the windshield and they want me to come to FoCo for the it but we live in Loveland so I ask for the Denver company to come to me. The company does and they leave trash all over the place but most concerning is the razor blades they left on the ground of an apartment complex with children. I later relay the blade/trash issue and they said that's why they prefer it to be done at the shop as well as because they don't speak English. I let it go because it's not technically Import's fault. Well here we are today, the day temp tags expire, just received the title, and are without our car because it's at a Tony's in Loveland. We are out hundreds on top of overpaying for the car and are now without a vehicle until we get the money together. HERE LIES THE BIGGEST ISSUE AND REASON TO NOT PURCHASE FROM IMPORT; the issues with the car, (transmission mount and catalytic converters that have broken, rusted pieces in it), are not issues that arise in a short time frame, (remember the original temp tag expires today), and they aren't issues a certified, master mechanic miss. I was told to my face that the mounts were good and the noise I was intermittently hearing weren't an issue. He drove it with us in it and had it a full day after we had already purchased. Unacceptable. Honesty would have been appreciated and we feel duped. Lastly, we are out hundreds with parts and labor and that's just for the mount. Catalytic converters are an expensive fix at the shop.......here's hoping it passes emissions once we add to the absurd amount already put into a half a** running car. If you like headache and throwing money away, this is the place to go. If you don't like headaches, spare yourself and go somewhere you KNOW is honest and reputable. I dont usually take the time to write a business review, however in this case I definately think its warrented. Though, Mr Ken is a friendly nice guy, his service is less than desirable and that is what he is selling!!! Old Town uses old parts and has you believe he's using new parts...until oops...you discover it later on your paperwork and even though you say over the phone, you only want the repair, if he uses new parts...it doesnt matter...you didnt get it in writing. Futhermore, he seriously price gouges on parts! I was asking for parts prices and he was getting twice as much for his used parts as you can get online, new...hmmm? Also, Ken is happy to replace a part (air temp sensor) that the onboard computer says is bad, but doesnt fix the problem that you came in for, until you pay him more, and who knows how many times that could go on???!!! Additionally, I got home and my check engine light came back on the next day. Same thing with my brakes...they were still doing the same thing that I paid him $400 to fix. I had to take it to another repair shop after he worked on it, and two of the things he repaired were still not working; I tried to talk to him about the problem, but he didnt call me back after his assistant drove and looked at my car!!! When I went to Midas and was shown that Mr Ken put the brakes back together wrong, as well as not getting the brake vacume hose hooked up correctly...it started to make me wonder? So, I checked Better Business Beurau and he has a oops, there, too! What happened next, you ask...could it get worse??? YES! Low and behold my brake power booster started to go out just days after his repair?!??!? Now, I sit with no power brakes! Bottom line, not sure you want to take your car to this shop if you are a women...might work out just fine if you're a guy or you might know whats going on the mechanical world...but I felt like I was price gouged, bait and switched, that the workmanship was excecuted very poorly and there was absolutely no recourse! read more

I would definitely recommend against taking your car here. The first time, I was charged $50 more than the quote I was given for an oil leak. I went home and found my car was still leaking oil. The second time (not sure why I went back), I was quoted a large sum of money for a different oil leak. I decided not to go ahead with the repair because it was too much money. I had spoken on the phone with Ken about a flickering headlight, which I thought was caused by some loose or disconnected wires that were visible underneath my front bumper. We agreed on a price of $60 to fix this issue. However, he diagnosed it as a failing bulb, and said I need a new headlight bulb for $100 plus labor. I decided not to go ahead with this repair either, since I can change a bulb. This did not stop him from charging the original $60 we had agreed upon to "fix" the electrical under the bumper. When I got home and looked, all he had done was literally zip-tie the electrical to the bottom of my bumper - something I could have easily done in about two minutes myself. I'd be fine with him charging me a diagnostic fee (he did), but charging $60 for two minutes worth of work with zip ties is ridiculous and dishonest. read more

Ken is honest and will not take advantage of you. He genuinely makes sure his customers are well taken care of, receive quality parts and service and pay for only the services they need, which is very hard to find in the automotive industry these days. When Ken and his team fix a part on your car it stays fixed. It won't break down in 6 months like at other body shops where they are just trying to make a quick buck. read more

I own a '06 Saab 9-3 and Ken is hands down the best mechanic who has worked on it. He really takes pride in and truly cares about his work. I had a knocking sound in my suspension I, and 3 other mechanics, couldn't figure out. In 2 minutes of driving my car he knew what it was and was able to fix it the same day. He also cleared a fault for my headlight and tightened a loose bolt in my door without me asking and with no charge. I highly recommend him! read more

I've never used them as a mechanic but I have seen evidence of what appears to be a dishonest business. Recently, they purchased a 2003 Road Runner Travel Camper from a private owner for a fair price and less than one week later re-posted the same camper on Craigslist for over $1400 above the NADA Guide's value for a new camper (this was not new) and $4630 above the NADA Guide's suggested value for a camper in good condition. Ken at Old Town Imports is wonderful. I bought a used car from there and he said if there were any problems he would help to make it right. Low and behold a problem arises with the vehicle on the 200 mile trip home. Without blinking an eye he told me if I wanted to return the vehicle he would have no problems doing that. Even though I loved the vehicle I returned it and Ken stood by his word and returned my money. Great customer service right there!
