This visit was all about the cocktails, and Seven Grand absolutely delivered. Josh, our bartender, was running the room like a conductor leading an orchestra of happy whiskey drinkers. He asked what we liked, made a couple of recommendations for Old Fashioneds based on our preferences, and absolutely nailed it. Every drink was balanced, flavorful, and dangerously easy to sip. The guy knows his whiskey, knows his cocktails, and somehow still manages to make everyone at the bar feel like they're his only customer. The whiskey selection is enough to make a bourbon nerd lose all sense of financial responsibility, but surprisingly, we escaped without needing to refinance the house. If Josh doesn't own Seven Grand, someone should probably look into fixing that. Until then, I'll keep showing up to "try just one drink"... knowing full well that's a lie I tell myself every single time. Highly recommend. I believe the chips and salsa were made by the food truck that is outside. The Mac and cheese was good but a little overwhelming with the thickness and amount of cheese sauce put on it. The chicken wings were very good, well cooked with great crisp on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. My favorite item were the sliders though. Both styles were really good and for $5 each it is a great value. I enjoyed my experience at Rocket Spirits and will be back to try more of their food and drinks.

The tastings were fantastic and it felt like the appropriate number for the 60-70 minutes of the tour. After the tour we got a drink at the bar to try another whisky that wasn't sampled on the tour. All the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and laid back on our Sunday evening visit. They have other events that sound really fun to come back for! The owner appeared to side with the individual who initiated the confrontation and ultimately removed the group instead. Later, we heard that the man involved was actually a friend of the owner. From an outside perspective, the group that was asked to leave seemed calm and was minding their business before things escalated. Watching everything unfold--and seeing how it was handled--left a really negative impression. Unfortunately, that experience made the environment feel uncomfortable and biased, which is disappointing because the night had started on such a positive note.
