The menu has been downsized since our visit last year though it proved not to be a problem. We settled on a sharing what proved to be an over dressed Caesar salad. For entrees we each chose grilled salmon that was enhanced by a bechamel sauce and served over wild rice and peas that proved to be perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was excellent as well.

This place continues to be one of my favorite local spots. They serve a great selection of wine and small plates. On the 2024 summer menu, I highly recommend the short rib and blue cheese toast, the chipotle hummus dip, the wings and the meatballs. The charcuterie board is always a must-do as well. I love the ambiance and the service is always great.

Old Vines Wine Bar in Kennebunk has a large outdoor patio, two bars (one downstairs and one upstairs) and seating inside on two floors. During my recent visit, I opted to sit upstairs at the bar since the downstairs bar was a bit crowed. The wine menu says to ask about wine flights. So, I did. The bartender had to look up the prices, so I'm assuming they don't do a lot of wine flights. There isn't a set flight list. For $25 you get 3 wines of 3 oz each. There is also a wine flight option for 6 oz pours. You get to pick your wines from anything available by the glass. I tasted some white wines. The flights also come with soda. I've never been served soda with a tasting. It's just not something I've used to rinse out a wine glass between tastings. From all the wine tasting I've done, I was under the impression the best way to rinse out your glass is to use a bit of the new wine you're going to taste next. For a wine bar, this place sure has an extensive cocktail list. Although, I've been told that Old Vines also offers private cocktail tastings where you actually get to make the cocktails, so that's pretty neat. I also like the smaller plate options along with plates designed for sharing. There were a couple fruit flies that were a bit annoying at the bar, but otherwise I enjoyed my time here. There is also ample parking available in a large lot next to the restaurant.

Great area to walk around and take in all the views of this town! Small wait time? No problem!

Really fun wine bar! Came here on a Saturday night while visiting the area and this place definitely drew us as it was pretty busy! Located right by all the happening spots in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport, the location of Old Vines Wine Bar is great. I do recommend making a reservation in advance especially if you are planning to go on a weekend night. My friend and I came and we were able to put our name in (they use Resy for reservations which allowed us to leave our name and they would text us when our table would be ready in 15 minutes). I have come across this where they way overestimate the wait time when using this app. I believe they told us it would be 1.25 hours and it was only about 30 minutes. During that time we walked around the area and explored all the little shops. The food and wine here was great! It is a perfect choice for anyone who is not looking to have more seafood. While I do recommend seafood while in Maine, this was a nice way to mix it up. Their menu is seasonal and rotates so always as for what is the current specials. We had a super crispy flatbread with tomato, onion, and bacon, grilled salmon with butternut squash puree, and a side of the brussels sprouts If you are in this section of Maine, I would definitely make it a point to stop into this area for the evening. Beautiful scenery and great food!

OVWB is the absolute perfect spot for a happy hour cocktail or full blown dinner and wine. We have been here a bunch since moving to Kennebunk in late 2019 (can't believe I haven't previously reviewed!) and everything lives up to the hype. The cocktail menu is awesome!! Soo many delicious and unique concoctions - it's honestly hard to choose. They also have a decent beer list and of course a great wine list!! I had the rose on my last visit and it was perfect for a warm afternoon with their mezze platter. Speaking of this platter!!! It has a ton of different items on it- it is the best pairing for a drink and enjoying on their patio. It's not too heavy so you won't be too full for dinner afterwards. The baked feta is absolutely delicious!! Definitely get a reservation ahead of time - or if you go on an off hour you might get lucky (we did last time (5pm on a Friday). Service is friendly and efficient - and the servers are happy to make recommendations if you need them.

As a Wine Professional this place did not disappoint whatsoever. It wasn't busy when we arrived but they had a good selection of wines and a friendly bartender to recommend some things to try. It was my husbands birthday so I started off with a bubbly. It was very cozy inside and I would definitely recommend checking it out. They also have an outdoor patio too for warmer weather.

The best "foodie" spot in Kennebunkport. Great drinks and apps and the service is excellent.

Looking for a great place to have dinner in Kennebunkport? Check out this place! We wanted a seafood break and decided to check it out because of the small plate appetizers. We ordered the Japanese fried chicken and pomme Frites. Japanese fried chicken was high on my list because of the place in Camden ME. But these were a compete let down... basically just some tiny chicken strips fried with sauce. Pomme frites were really good. Small crisp fries with garlic and herbs. Covered in a cheese sauce. Nothing wrong here! I had a Shrimp salad with a honey dressing. It was just what I was wanting. Spicy shrimp with a cool well dressed salad. For dinner my wife had the filet and frites because she liked the fries so much. For 24.00 it was a great value. Steak cooked perfectly and was really tender. I had the pork belly because I am a sucker for anything. Thick pieces of pork belly grilled and glazed to perfection! Will probably be back soon!

The food was ok, nothing too special here. Considering what you can get in the local area, it was a bit of a let down. The food was salty and the seafood portions of the menu were not as up to par as expected. The sushi rice was crunchy but the flavor of cured halibut was a bit odd. The cod was the most decent dish out of what we ordered, the miso and bokchoy went well together. But again, pretty salty. The outdoor seating area was cute and service was alright. If you're really looking for a typical Kennebunkport meal I would look elsewhere. If you need a break from all the lobster and sandwiches, this would be a decent respite.

The desserts are pricey (most are around $15-20), but the portions are big enough to share with at least 1 other person. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Royale, which really hit the sweet-salty spot with a warm choc chip cookie, salty sweet cream ice cream, salted caramel, sesame brittle, and tahini whipped cream. The savorier elements allowed me to keep eating and not get overwhelmed by sweetness. My friends got the vegan peach crumble and chocolate cake and enjoyed theirs as well. I love that it's a bit out of the way of the downtown area so you can park and relax in a beautiful setting. We started with cocktails and drank them outside while admiring the beautiful property, i highly recommend getting there before your reservation so you can enjoy a drink on a nice day outside! I got the Tideline cocktail and substituted the tequila for mezcal after the bartender suggested it and wow! A great drink and i was impressed how fast the service was. Once we sat down inside we ordered a lovely Gamay for the table, you really can't go wrong with any of the wines on the menu they have a great selection. We ordered quite a few dishes to share between the three of us and the server brought them out in a 3 course style per her suggestion. We started with the citrus and fennel salad and grilled raddichio and these were both so fresh and delicious, we had to leftover vegetables this were exceptional. Then came the asparagus pizza, pork and beef meatballs, and the focaccia as our second course. We almost skipped the focaccia- that would have been a huge mistake. That is a must order, the texture was biscuit like and the seasonal flavored butter was divine. The pizza was really blowing us away with the white sauce and the chili crisp combination. The dough is so light and crispy as well it was wonderful. The meatballs were huge! and came with delicious grilled sourdough. The pasta and lamb shank came out next and at this point we couldn't see how it could get any better but then it did! The lamb shank is huge and cooked so beautifully. The pastas were definitely the standout bites of the course. The carbonara noodles are thick and cooked perfectly and the sauce is so rich a creamy. The Tortelli pasta was my favorite, the pockets stuffed with a gooey filling and the fava beans added a great texture to the dish. We were in carb heaven. We somehow were able to fit dessert in and i'm so glad we did not skip it. We ordered espresso martinis to accompany and this is without a doubt the best espresso martini i have ever had. We substituted tequila and they were completely delicious. I don't remember exactly what the names of the desserts were that we got but one was a a chocolate mousse with a peanut butter sauce and crunchy peanuts which was so yummy. But the favorite of the table was the pistachio one. It was like an ice cream bar with crunchy pistachios on it. Get this one if you go! This was an unforgettable meal from service to food. The staff is incredible and really treat you wonderfully and the food is so good i really didn't expect it to blow me away as much as it did. This is a place i'm going to have to come back to again and again.

Staying July 27 - Aug 1st, 2026 (5 nights) Things started badly from the second we approached the front desk. We arrived a little after 3pm on Mon. July 27, 2026 for check in (guest check in is between 3-9). We were told the room wasn't ready, no problem. Decided to grab a drink and wait outside, beautiful weather. Gorgeous area, directly across from the beach. Around 4:15pm we were told the room was ready. Great! We carried our luggage up and were ready to relax/shower before dinner. Walked in and were immediately hit with a VERY strong chemical smell. Sat down and started thinking this doesn't seem right. My eyes and throat started to burn. Seemed like something strong mixed with bleach. We opened the windows and decided it's best to ask the front desk for help. Went back downstairs and spoke with the manager - David. Very kind and tried his best to help with the odor. He informed us that all the rooms are filled, but he could try and air the room out with fans and get rid of the smell. Again no problem, things happen. Head back to the lobby to WAIT. Around 5pm (we still had the keys) my husband -Darren decided to go into the room and check it out. David greeted me as I was sitting on the sofa in the lounge/restaurant around the same time. He told me that the room was ready, he had let the room air out for the last hour. It no longer has the chemical smell, but it does kind of smell like the restaurant. That was strange, but at this point we just wanted to get settled. I got up and walked towards the stairs as Darren was headed back down. He informed me that the bleach and cleaning spray was still beyond strong. My husband is not usually affected by strong scents, and was getting a headache. I did not go back to the room, as I didn't want to get sick. Back to the front desk, told David that it is still very strong and he said that we should have informed them that we had an opposition to strong smells before arrival. I thought that was crazy, I've never had this problem at any hotel up here before. Now he has made us feel like we are being a problem for speaking up about the smell and voicing concerns about getting sick. We asked if we could change rooms for the night and he explained the hotel is fully booked. He would need to talk with the general manager - Bridget. So we sat back down in the lobby. By this time it was 5:15. We moved out to the porch and around 5:30 Bridget met us. She was very kind and understanding. Stated again that the hotel was fully booked, no rooms available and offered to cover a dinner as an apology during our stay. I looked online at some of the sister properties around town, that they market as "connected" with shared amenities and services. We have actually stayed at a couple previously without any issues. I suggested we changed to one of those, because they have availability for the dates of our stay. Now it's 6:15-30 or so. I was told I would have needed to have cancelled my reservations 14 days ago to make that happen, as the systems are not connected. What? We want to stay at Tides, that's why we booked here! Why would we cancel our reservation ahead of time? This chemical situation was out of our control when we arrived. She suggested that we could move into a different room just for the night and then switch back to a room in our category tomorrow. Perfect, that was totally fine. We were still made to feel like we inconvenienced staff for something that was out of our control. Brigette gave us the keys to room #305, we carried our luggage up and settled in at around 7pm (4 hours waiting in lobby to get everything figured out & into a room). The next day, around 12:15 #201 was ready. Checked back in around 3-3:30, took our luggage back up and settled in after our outing. Checking out this morning. Said "Good morning and told the women at the front desk we are checking out. She replied "Good morning, so did you enjoy THAT room?"... We nodded yes, said have a good weekend and left. What a kick in the teeth to end our stay. We both left sad and disappointed with that comment. The staff all knew that we asked to change rooms because of the smell? Service, cleanliness and feeling when in this hotel are way out of wack and terrible. This will be a one and done stay for us at Tides.
