Just what I needed and in boycott Starbucks day! Fabulous lattes, great big moist muffins and a truly delicious avocado toast.

Gave this cafe a try since it was walking distance from the beach. It was a little overwhelming upon first entering due to the music being loud and there was lots to see & I wasn't quite sure where to order at first. There's plenty of seating indoors & a wonderful outdoor seating area. We ordered an Açaí Bowl & a Green Goddess smoothie with a side of Fresh seasonal fruit. The Açaí bowl had fresh and sweet fruit with a perfect combo of each fruit and the right amount of granola. The smoothie portion was tasty and went well with all the fruit. I'll definitely order this one again. As for the Green Goddess smoothie, I wouldn't order again. It wasn't terrible, just lacked any real flavor beyond chalky green flavor. We took a few sips & wrote that one off. The Fresh Seasonal fruit side was perfect and exactly what our beach day needed. Can't wait to come back & try more of the menu and experience dining in. Highly recommend!

Freshly baked blueberry muffins, a rich & fabulous Almond Joy Latte, and a vibe that was exactly what I needed to kickstart a bright and wonderful morning. The barista was incredibly friendly and amazing, making the experience even sweeter. As I drove out of town on an icy yet sunny Monday morning, American Brew was the perfect stop to warm up and soak in some positivity. The flavors, the atmosphere, and the friendly service made it unforgettable. Can't wait for my next visit and I must get some of this merch!!.

Great service. Nice and calm ambience combined with great food. They are currently sponsoring Spikes's K9 so they are true to their name American Brew. Found my new breakfast spot

    Spring Fling Latte Iced

We have been a big fans of the Locally owned American brew for its amazing atmosphere, friendly Baristas and superior coffee and breakfast options. The new April special "Spring Fling Latte" was no exception. The Iced, strawberry simple syrup infused white chocolate latte was the perfect refreshment after a beautiful day at the beach!

Though it's very busy, they do get the coffees out to you quickly and the atmosphere is very cozy -very friendly community!! Muffins are huge and delicious

Love going to this place on the weekends after going to first landing . You can't go wrong with any of the drinks I normally get one of their seasonal drinks and their breakfast bowls are awesome and a large portion . The customer service is amazing, the vibe of this place is great one of my favorite places to go . Inside and outside seating .

    Great breakfast!

My brother and I stopped on our drive down to outer banks and were very happy! Great breakfast and good coffee!

Definitely earned my updated 5 star review this time. Maybe it's the more less crowded, more laid back day but I feel that there's more attention paid to the details, less rushed to order, and maybe seemingly more selections. I ordered to go: steak quesadilla and power bowl with chicken, quinoa and hummus. The latter was yummy, 5 stars. The quesadilla is a 4, slightly more oily to my liking.

Thanks to the coastal coffee trail. We are trying another new coffee shop. This building has been the home of many things. We thought it had turned into a brewery. Totally did not know it is coffee too. So as soon as I told my friends we wanted to visit. It is awesome!!! They are way more than just your run of the mill coffee shop. They have a really good cocktail, beer, mimosas, tea, smoothie and coffee menu. Oh, but it does NOT stop there. They have wonderful food too. My friend and I thought we were just going for coffee but the food menu looked so good that we split THE BREWWITO. Yumm!! Lots of flavor. Filled to the brim . And they made it look so pretty. BTW all of the staff super friendly. You go up and order but just the beautiful smiles and sweet friendly nature is my favorite. They have real plates. A few places I have been to recently have to go containers or paper. This place is classy. Thank you so much for having real plates. I love the inside. From the gorgeous natural stained wood to the fun funky lighting. And both my friend and I got the giggles when we went to the ladies room and the table in there said "Get Naked". I don't usually take pictures in the bathroom but that was so funny I had to take a quick picture. That means they have a great since of humor too. The outside is really nice too. We were there during the day but I bet the twinkly lights are really pretty when they are lit. The photo op on the corner of the building I am sure is a favorite for everyone. It is a set of wings. We got awesome pictures I want to give them a standing ovation. I hope you will have many many years at this location. You are awesome and we are already planning our next visit

Great coffee shop. Lots of seating and the perfect spot to work. They have wifi that works well and lots of accessible outlets. In addition, great and plentiful outdoor seating as well. My latte was pretty good. They have good branding, very patriotic. I didn't get to try any food, but the food around me looked great and was obviously being enjoyed.

The rude guy working the bar was neither friendly or pleasant. There were no napkins when food was served. I stood up and politely asked for some. I found some below the register and, since the guy was busy prepping drinks, I decided to get them myself. He then said, "okay do my job," which was unnecessary and rude. Though the other waiter was friendlier, service was overall bad.

First, let me say the service was absolutely TOP TIER! The staff was attentive, friendly, and the overall atmosphere definitely gave that elevated dining experience. I don't mind paying for a fine dining experience as long as the food matches the experience. We started with the crab dip appetizer, and honestly it was solid. Definitely a good appetizer choice. For drinks, I kept it simple with a tequila sunset and substituted pineapple juice for orange juice a good drink! Now for the meals. I ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and green beans. I hate to even say this because I had such high hopes, but the lamb chops lacked seasoning for me. I ordered them medium, but they were definitely more medium rare. I love a medium rare ribeye, but not so much with lamb chops. The mashed potatoes and green beans were decent, but overall needed a little more flavor. My husband had the Butcher's Burger with wedges. He said it was a solid burger, slightly overcooked, but still good overall. He did enjoy the different flavor the pork belly added. My daughter ordered the Pasta Pescatore and said it was good, but not necessarily an "oh my goodness, I have to come back for this" type of dish. Overall, because so many people told me I would LOVE The Butcher's Son, I think my expectations were extremely high. The experience and service were excellent, but the food itself didn't completely wow me. It was good, just probably not my first choice for a return visit.

It was an incredible mash up of squash, peanut and coconut crème. There were some red peppers afloat and a little kick to it as well. My second dish was a signature of Chef Ty, the roasted roots and squash. Delicious root vegetables and squash, with some crème and dukkah. I could have eaten two or three plates. My final dish was the braised beef and fry bread. Imagine a cloud of puff pastry filled with the most delicious and tender beef you ever have eaten. It's the kind of establishment that understands both execution and consistency--two qualities that are increasingly rare and always appreciated. The shrimp and grits remains a signature highlight. The Creole sauce offers a restrained heat, balanced by a layered depth of flavor that speaks to careful preparation rather than excess. The shrimp are properly cooked, retaining a delicate snap, while the stone-ground grits provide a well-seasoned, creamy foundation. Each component is thoughtfully prepared, and together they form a cohesive dish that feels both composed and satisfying--an authentic nod to Cajun tradition without unnecessary embellishment. I swear I'm not making this up, this actually happened: 1) it took over 2.5 hours for the entrees to come out. One came out so early that by the time the second set came out they were already done. 2) The only appetizer that was ordered that actually came out, arrived after the entree was done. 3) One person's order had to be changed 5x because the waiter kept coming back to say they're out. When his pork chop finally arrived, it was undercooked and not eatable. 4) Nothing was offered in any way as a comp, nor any real apology If you go, be wary. She had always wanted to try it, it had a happy hour menu with food and drinks, so why not. We parked, walked the few feet over, got seated outside, and waited. Our waitress, Taya, was an absolute gem. Only 2 months working there and she was in her element for us. It was quite humid outside but it wasnt uncomfortable. The inside though was big and spacious (the big wall of Makers Mark alcohol bottles was quite a site to see). Now onto the food and drinks: For drinks I ordered their Catch 31 Orange Crush (delicious) and they went out of their way to prepare me a Irish Car Bomb (shot of Baileys Irish Cream in a pint of Guinness) the best they could and it worked out beautifully. My wife just had her favorite Blue Moon on tap and she had no complaints. For food we ordered a Buffalo Mac and Cheese (wife), The Mack (me) and coconut shrimp (share). The Mac and cheese my wife had blew her mind. The couple bites I took I could see why. The buffalo chicken on top was melt in your mouth tender and the cheese sauce balanced the spice out nicely. The Mack I had was a double cheeseburger with thousand island dressing, lettuce, onions, tomato, and pickles. I've mentioned the best burger I've ever had came from Smashed RVA but now it has competition in this one. It was fresh, juicy, and the toasted bun made it all come together. So good in fact I ordered a second one to go. Speaking of... The coconut shrimp we shared was so tender and the sweet chili dipping sauce would make your eyes pop out your head. It was spot on cooked, nice golden brown color, and very flavorful. My wife doesn't even like spicy food or coconut even but even she said she loved all of it. We got a second order of the shrimp to take home too. I talked to the manager on duty, named William, and told him my feelings and thanked him for a wonderful experience and meal and that we would definitely be back again. I can't speak for the people who gave this place negative feedback but I can say for my wife and I we had zero issues with the service, staff, and food.

Oceanfront views, open windows, and a coastal, airy vibe make it a genuinely scenic spot. Perfect for sunset dinners or drinks with the water right there. The energy at the bar was lively but not overwhelming. Clam Chowder: Rich, creamy, good balance of clams to potatoes. Classic and comforting. House Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing: Fresh greens, generous portion of blue cheese. Tangy and well-dressed without being soggy. Burger: Flavor was excellent, juicy, well-seasoned. Came out slightly overcooked for my preference, but still delicious. Drinks: Two Old Fashioneds were balanced and strong. Also had a shot of Jim Beam bourbon. This is where the experience fell short. I'm a 20%+ tipper and I sit at bars often, so I understand how busy it gets. But the difference in service was hard to miss. Tatiana (bartender): Greeting took much longer than other guests. I wasn't asked if I was eating or drinking right away, yet I watched her promptly greet others, offer water, take orders, then ask for a card. With me, she asked for a card for the tab immediately. The interaction felt noticeably different from how she treated other patrons. I give grace when I can, but the contrast was clear and can't be ignored. I also noted her manager appeared to be a Black man, which made the disparity feel even more disappointing. Hayden (bar back): Cool and helpful. Stepped in, checked on things, and was genuinely hospitable. I reluctantly left her 15%. Honestly, I didn't want to give her anything at all but a piece of my mind. The good Lord Jesus is working on me, so I left the 15% and walked away. As a regular 20%+ tipper, that drop speaks volumes about how the service felt. Pros: Scenic oceanfront atmosphere, good food with strong flavors, solid cocktails. Hayden's help improved the night. Cons: Inconsistent bar service. The burger was slightly overcooked. Most concerning was feeling singled out by Tatiana's approach compared to other guests. Catch 31 delivers on location and food. The view and the chowder alone are worth a stop. But the service experience at the bar was uneven and left me feeling offended as a paying customer who tips well. I hope management addresses the disparity, because the place has too much potential to be weighed down by that. Would return for the food and view, but hesitant about the bar experience with Tatiana.

Finally got a chance to eat dinner. I researched locations. Not our first time eating in this area at all. I have been wanting a good burger. This place fit the bill or so I thought. Bae ordered his smash burger pink. I ordered no pink. Both of us got double patties. Full transparency, I have cooked smash burgers myself. They are thin and cook quickly. Pink? I didn't want to take my chances on an undercooked burger. The menu only provides two options: pink and no pink. Simple! First the meatballs were delicious and not because we were starving. Cassidy was very patient and gave us plenty of time to make a decision. My first burger - looks can be deceiving. Zoom in. You'll see the burned edge of the bun and black onions. When I opened the burger to add mayo I discovered almost al the onions were black and there was no bacon to be found. Cassidy agrees that my onions were crissspy and not in a good way. She refires my burger. Bae's burger must have been fine. He made short work of it. The one time I did peek over his patty looked more no pink than pink so they didn't get that right either. My second burger? Cassidy and I agreed it was a marked improvement. I was impressed at how fast the second burger landed on the table. I'd already eaten the Brussel sprouts. Let's say the garlic butter didn't really taste like garlic or butter more like cheese. They did have a crispness to them like Cassidy said they would. An acceptable side. I had fries last night and didn't want more again tonight. Back to this second burger - after Cassidy left the table I cut it on two. Look at the pic. One chunk was raw. Pink pink. I was not with that. Not to mention no crispy edges. That ended my night. My long awaited dinner was a side dish. I told Cassidy that the message was received from the kitchen. They don't want me as a customer and that I was fine not to order anything else or return again. The music was a bit too loud for me. Playlist or channel was going me MTV of the late 80s early 90s. Awesome but just a bit too loud. They started getting a crowd as we were leaving. So this spot must get cranking as the night progresses. Thank you Cassidy for good service. Sorry the kitchen lost a customer.
