Our son is attending Stan State and we come up from SoCal for weekends with him now and then while he's in basketball season. We love pastry shops so we popped in here when we first moved him up and have gone back each visit ever since. The sandwiches, soups and pot pies are delicious and so healthy - you can start yourselves off there or you can order a pastry or dessert first - which I recommend! You only live once right! The staff are always so happy and ready to help, the patience of saints. The selection and variety make it so hard to choose so you have to get a selection of things. Drink was good, but barista was very rude. When I asked her what she recommended she said it's up to me I'm a very rude tone. She kept forgetting our order, which wasn't hard at all, and asked my aunt and I to repeat it 3 times. All we got was a pumpkin cheesecake latte and an iced redbull with passionfruit/strawberry and half and half. She then tells my aunt we're out of coconut which she didn't even order in her drink. When our drinks came out my aunts didn't have the half and half. When we let her know she rolled her eyes, fixed it and had an attitude when giving it back. Whenever I'm in Turlock, I go ahead and stop by Old Tyme because of their selection of cakes and pastries. My all time favourite is their Tiramisu. My aunt originally got it for me for my birthday. I, then, got it again when I got my driver's license. I loved it both times. The consistency of flavours and bake time is the same. They're still currently open and they will do curb-side pick-up. I recently came in and ordered a small 6inch cake for my baby's birthday. First once I came in to pick up the cake no one was helping customers were just standing waiting while employees were just talking amongst themselves. Once I was finally helped the older lady with glasses who called my number didn't greet or ask how can I help you she just gave me a blank stare until lol it was kinda awkward almost wanted to ask someone else if they could just get me the cake. Unfortunately service and the cake did not meet my expectations. 68$ the price I payed on a small 6inch cake I probably could have gotten something 10x better at savemart or Safeway the top of the cake was super hard, and the cake itself was actually very dry not moist or fluffy at all it had only been 1 day after picking it up. (Not sure how to reply to the owner so I am just adding to the review) I went in on Saturday the 18th at 2:30 I ended up leaving at almost 3 from just waiting. I am not familiar with Turlock but I did some research looking for a birthday cake when I found this place. I'm glad I did! I was going to go to Safeway because I'm familiar with their product and know what to expect. When it comes to bakeries, I feel it's always a hit or miss. For walking in on a Thursday around 2:30pm, it was slightly busy and they still had enough in their display cases. Everyone was friendly and provided great service! This place has so much variety, from cakes ready to sell, to cupcakes, pastries, cookies, brownies, custards, Chocolate MICE, (rich chocolaty goodness, recommended for chocolate lovers!), fresh baked bread..etc. I picked out the white cake with lemon curd and coconut shavings! It was delicious, the cake was moist and had the perfect amount of lemon curd as frosting and filling. The coconut shavings added a nice texture! Kara could use some pointers for customer service. Went in today 02/22/23, bought some pastries and proceeded to go to the little deli section. I was greeted by Kara and her male coworker. Kara asked what she could do for me, to which I replied that I would need a minute as I was looking at the menu. She didn't even give me a chance to look at the menu as she started to repeatedly ask what I was going to order. (Maybe she should learn patience) I order a Turkey and pesto panini and I asked for a whole salad to which she rings me up for a side salad, even though I asked for a whole salad. I was too annoyed by her already to correct her mistake and just agreed. Seemed like she was in a rush to get home and too preoccupied talking or flirting with her male coworker. We looked at all the deserts and bread. We spent $27.00 on cookies and cakes. We did buy one loaf of bread and started reading the ingredients. It had shortening in it. We started eating some of the cookies and brownies. I was ready for some really tasty stuff. It was awful. Everything looked good, but it wasn't. No real butter in their bakery goods. Terri C, I would like to commend you for your quick actions. I recently left a message in regards to OTP's customer service. Since my review we have entertained OTP twice and each time I can notice the big difference in the welcoming atmosphere from all staff. As I mentioned OTP is probably the best bakery I've been in, the treats are delicious. Getting a "hello welcome in" or "take a number and we will be right with you" is refreshing. Having been in the business world most of my like "Customer Obsession" has always been at the top of priorities/principles. The WORST experience at a "professional" bakery. I was on the phone for a full half hour giving a list of my samples for a wedding cake. Only to arrive and have to wait 15 minutes for my appointment time, and then find out they didn't even have ANY samples for anything. Joyce didn't offer samples, she was short and rude and wasn't anywhere near apologetic about any of these issues. NEVER again and I will never refer anyone close to me and would actually advise them to avoid such a place. read more

Wonderful bakery & customer service. I recently bought a wedding cake for my brother's wedding and they were very professional and courteous. They have specialists for wedding cakes and were very helpful. I had to add to the order since more guests rsvp'd and they were more than happy to add cupcakes to match the cake. They may get busy, but grab a # and they work as fast as they can to get to you. No one slacks off behind the counter here. I would like to try their Cafe one day. Have been customers for years, since they came here. Was always a special place. I have to say the quality of the pastries we're buying now are changing. The round cinnamon bread is very dry now. Have purchased a slice of cake, expecting it to be fresh, it tasted like the refrigerator. Went again, and asked that next time if it was fresh. The person looked at me like I'd asked a strange question. The focaccia was OK the last time we got it. We loved the pineapple cream cheese ring. More and more those are consistently becoming like the individual pastries of the same, which we've never liked that much. There's hardly any filling inside and they are dry. The rings are becoming a lot like that, not as moist and full of filling, nor iced as well. It's more like where is the filling? The price used to be just under $5.00. Now is very expensive. Recently purchased the apricot filled pockets. I don't know if the place has changed hands, also wondered if they are using lard now in their pastries, perhaps so, as the dough does not taste the same, but those just outright tasted like bacon, maybe ham. Yuck. Maybe someone touched them with hands that were serving meats? For someone who does not eat meat or meat fat, it's very disappointing, they were ruined for us. Food preparers need to be mindful when they are preparing dishes that are vegetarian or just not meat, they should not corrupt them with meat or animal fats/non vege items. So, more and more, there is little reason to go back. The place isn't the same, and they used to be affordable, even for a single mom, but no longer, it's a luxury --I won't miss. read more

All though, I do not love in Turlock anymore...I still drive an hour out of my way just to pick up the cakes I order, a couple of eclairs, and a white mocha glacier!!
