So a nice girls night out…read morewith my colleagues and with all of the choices, we settled on The Shed because it had something for everyone. We were greeted quickly and sat right away. Nice open yet cozy seating and friendly smiles all around. Two of us had a delicious Cobb salad - we both felt it needed a bit more dressing - but it was super fresh and tasty. One had a steakhouse burger which she really liked as well and we split Shed Fries and Sweet Potato fries. All was delicious. I knocked one star off because we all really felt the burgers should have come with fries as opposed to a pickle spear and coleslaw. For the price, an added pile of fries would have been nice as opposed to having to order a side plate. That aside, food was delicious, service was spectacular. John was super friendly and helpful with choices too. Tempted to go back to try their brunch items! Maybe before I leave I'll get back there!

Crab Cake (8/10) - This was the highlight of every meal I had here before and I still enjoyed it. However, the crispy crust was missing today, which made eating the crab cake more like a crab salad. Also, some more acidity would have gone a long way. Nueske's Double Smoked Bacon (7.5/10) - Quality of the meat is clearly there, but I wish it was a bit more tender rather than so firm. The maple glaze does also get a bit sweet. Caesar Salad (6.5/10) - It's not a bad version, but I forgot to add the white anchovy, which was necessary to take it to the next level. Bone-In Ribeye (7.5/10) - When I cut it open, the color was perfectly hot pink from edge to edge. Sadly, it did feel a bit tough for something that looked so well made. Furthermore, I remember the steaks here having a crispier crust, which is crucial for a top notch restaurant quality steak in my mind. Chilean Sea Bass (4/10) - Not that it was horrible, but it's hard to screw up this fish. I can honestly make this dish better at home, which I do quite often. Not explained on the menu, but this fish was likely steamed or sous vide. The skin was not crisped up in any way, and then paired with a boring sauce. This was definitely a disappointment for $56. Roasted Mushrooms (8.5/10) - On the other hand, this may be the best side of mushrooms I have had in any steak house. Served whole and seasoned nicely. Mac & Cheese (7/10) - Pretty solid, but I need firmer pasta and a better cheese pull. The crispy breading on top (ritz crackers?) was done well. Complimentary Bread (8.5/10) - These little suckers were really good. I had three of them with their whipped butter, which I wish was bit more salted. Regardless, one of the best things of the night. All in all, this meal was satisfying as usual. The only differences were minor, but noticeable. Service was a little off today as well, but friendly. I hope they fix these small issues and return to being my favorite restaurant at Mohegan Sun again.

Such lousy service and tasteless food. The owner can lie and defend their extremely poor service and make up excuses I was uncooperative but the review shows the same day another customer complained about poor service. There's never going to be next time, like I stated on my google review even if the food was free, I wouldn't return. Your service is just POOR, like the food you serve. The waitress was over her head, just laughable. Not friendly or welcoming, it was odd from the moment I walked in and my biggest regret is settling for such terrible service. How I regret not walking out. In a day, you've had two negative reviews. Another customer complained about the same poor service. Molly had the same terrible experience and the common denominator is your bogus service and the tasteless food you serve. Thumbs down!!!! read more

I've been here multiple times and in the beginning it was good but over the last several years it seems to have gone downhill. The food all seems very bland. They have the only deep fried French toast around that I've been able to find which is a big part of what kept me going back , it was something I had never had before and was a great sweet treat. Aside from the deep fried French toast I have been disappointed with the rest of the items I've tried, home fries are overly mushy and bland , eggs are underwhelming and the chocolate milk is not great at all. Aside from the food I just feel like this restaurant has geared towards an elderly audience. The restaurant could use some renovation & deep cleaning! It's hit or miss here. I have had excellent food and I have had terrible food here. The prime rib dinner was terrible I would not recommend having it here. But their hamburgers and breakfast items have always been excellent. So it all depends on what you order. The atmosphere is cute although could be a lot cleaner. The inside is really interesting, everything from old farm and country décor to hubcaps on the walls and you can immediately tell it's a local favorite with a lot of regulars coming in and out. The setup is pretty cozy with counter seating facing the kitchen, several booths, and a few tables. I actually enjoyed sitting at the counter because it gave me a full view of the open kitchen and the pace of the restaurant. While I was there, they had several cooks working along with a few servers/runners, so it was busy but still manageable. The menu is mostly breakfast classics; eggs, home fries, Belgian waffles, French toast, pancakes, etc. along with some larger specialty plates like the "Kitchen Sink" that looked huge. I ordered the traditional breakfast with eggs, fries, toast, and coffee for around $15, which honestly felt pretty reasonable these days. The food came out quickly and the prices overall seemed fair. Where things fell a little short for me was the service. My plate sat on the line for close to 10 minutes before my waitress remembered it was there after answering phones, checking people out, refilling coffee, and helping other tables. When she finally dropped it off, she didn't really acknowledge me or ask if I needed anything. It then took another several minutes to get butter and Tabasco for my toast and breakfast. I also couldn't help but notice a couple of food handling things since the kitchen is fully visible from the counter. The cooks appeared to wear gloves consistently, but I never saw gloves being changed, and some of the servers were preparing toast and fruit bowls while actively touching food without washing their hands in between tasks. That was probably the biggest downside for me personally. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience by any means. The atmosphere is unique, the prices are fair, and you can see why locals enjoy it. For me, though, I'd probably try a few other breakfast places in the area before making this one a regular stop.

Two of us have dietary restrictions that we are usually hesitant to ask about, but at that point Monique had spoiled us so much (9 options for toast!) and traded so many jokes that we felt totally comfortable asking for modifications. The food was amazing- I loved my blueberry banana bread pancakes, the potatoes were really delicious, everyone's food was cooked perfectly. The eggs benedict looked really good, and there were a lot of fun specials that I want to try next time. So attentive with coffee refills as well. 1000% recommend!

A lot of reviews seem to harp on the interior, so I'll say it gave a double wide converted into a restaurant vibe. Ultimately, however, it was clean and comfortable, and that's what I want from a restaurant. Service was friendly, but I definitely sat without a coffee refill for a while, or any kind of attention, while the waitress chatted with her friends at the next table over. Food wise, the menu is classic diner, nothing too fancy, and a small enough variety of underlying ingredients that you can be confident they're doing the cooking. I got onion rings, along with two eggs and a ribeye. The onion rings were great, crispy but not burnt, good batter. The eggs were actually over easy, like I ordered, which is a huge positive. The ribeye didn't have much flavor, but they have A1, and it was a little undercooked, but I would rather that than overcooked. The coffee was brewed well, not burnt nor bitter. Other notes: the menu has an egg price modifier note, but the prices were as listed, so either they've updated the menu or the egg crisis is over enough that they stopped modifying the price. There's a sign at the register, but not in the menu, that paying with a card, debit or credit, will garner you a 4% fee, that you avoid by paying cash.

The waitress was friendly and thorough. Was a great experience. So if you're in this area , across from gas station and Dunkin' Donuts, then stop in for breakfast and /or lunch. It's open till 2 and wheelchair accessible.
