If you don't feel like reading everything: Don't go here expecting that if you try something and hate it off the first bite that they're going to take it off your bill. Whole story: My wife and I walked in for brunch on 6/22 and were pleased with Oleum's flexibility to get us seated. It was our first time so we ordered 3 different plates to share and 2 drinks. All of the food was delicious EXCEPT the biscuits and gravy. My wife and I both took a bite and immediately were put off by the taste of the biscuit and gravy separately and the dish combined. This is where things went down hill. I told our waiter that we both took a bite and that the dish was not good. He asked how it could be improved and we told him, he asked if there was any way for it to be remade but that would include changing the biscuit recipe all together. We then asked for it to be taken off our bill and long story short it was a mixture of "oh I have to ask the manager and they prob won't because you ate it". No prob, took the cost of the dish out of his tip since there was no effort. But it concerned my wife and I that the waiter was too nervous to speak up for his customers. read more

The Yelp listing is a little confusing, as this is a residential location, not a mall. Oleum was recommended by a nearby resident and it did not disappoint for Father's Day brunch. The cinnamon buns are ENORMOUS and delicious. I had the breakfast burrito and it was a tasty combination of avocado, potatoes and eggs. I wasn't expecting much with it being a vegan restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. I had heard so much hype from this restaurant that I had to try it. The establishment isn't new, we had been here with prior restaurants and love the decor overall theme. Our server was Anika (sp?) and she was so great. Gave us recommendations and overall was very attentive. We started with the cannellini tapas and the spicy potatoes (I don't remember the name) and both were great. There are options to increase the spice level, I like spicy food and I don't think there's a need to increase it...it's plenty spicy. I got the cremini bucatini as a main dish and my partner got the blackened Alfredo. Both were very flavorful, and our protein choice tasted as it was advertised - spicy "sausage" and "chicken" (it's a vegan restaurant, friends). We also got a pizza to try and to take home. We got the Ledo and the fire starter. The firestarter was really good, but I wasn't a fan of the ledo pizza. Just wasn't very flavorful. Overall and great experience and will definitely be back. We also ordered a pumpkin soup which didn't make it to the table, which in the end was fine because we wouldn't have been able to finish it. Haha read more

My second trip to Oleum -- at their new Harborplace location -- was just as delicious as the first. Be sure to try the Toum Raider pizza, which is an absolute flavor bomb. I couldn't stop eating it! The pickup spot was a bit difficult to navigate to, as there isn't much parking, but Oleum provided clear directions and got the food out to me quickly. Oleum's food is so delicious and made with quality ingredients. We were staying at The Ivy hotel and found Oleum via Yelp. The food did not disappoint. Even via delivery the food was delivered hot and had not lost any of its character. The presentation in the carry out containers was great!! The fried eggplant had a delightful mix of flavors in each bite!! The margarita pizza had a delectable crust with fantastic fresh basil. The mushroom pasta was hearty without being heavy with multi layers of mushroom flavors. My husband absolutely loved the batatas and the flavors were divine. Seriously good eats! I remember back when vegan cheese used to be the butt of so many jokes, however one trip to oleum is all you need to change your preconceptions. It's a shame they're stuck in this tiny little corner of a shopping center (my guess is that the Atlas restaurant group buys up all the good real estate) because this place had the best food I've ever had in Baltimore. Their pesto paninis are out of this world with how creamy, sharp, and tangy they are. Somehow, through some kind of alchemy, humble plants are rendered into delicious dishes that cannot be distinguished from sausage, beef, chicken, cheese. Yes, this is a vegan restaurant. Don't go because it's vegan. Go because the food is delicious. We had the fried eggplant starter. Crispy crust with a creamy interior. The bucatini in mushroom sauce with added sausage fooled my husband, who thought he was eating meat. The pizzas are so yummy; crispy crust, delicious toppings. The pesto was so good. I went here with my brother before a concert and the food and service were the absolute best! Benu was our server and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The food was served at the perfect temperature and we loved it all! Benu highly recommend that we enjoy the food family style because everything is served when ready. I highly recommend enjoying the meal this way to ensure the food is able to be consumed when served and avoid one person waiting longer for their meal. We had a Heatwave drink at the bar, fresh strawberry, mint, with a hint of jalapeno was a thirst quenching start to beat back the day's thick, hot weather. Kale Caesar salad was on point with tender greens, light dressing, chick peas and croutons. Miso Mushroom pasta was similarly packed with flavor and mushrooms. Reservations recommended, and allow ample time for great food prep-this is not fast food, and the place was busy at 5 on a Saturday. What a wonderful, tasty, and well operated restaurant. I'm from Los Angeles and flew in for a convention. I searched for a vegan restaurant and saw the vibrant photos of the food at Oleum. Then i read the reviews and was sold. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Alicia. She shared her inspirational journey in becoming a restauranteur, which included time in Japan. When i asked for her recommendations, she passionately explained each item and the inspiration for each dish. The eggplant was savory and sweet with a perfect crisp on the outside. The miso mushroom bucatini was so very creamy, savory, and filling. I topped it off with a fluffy and creamy tiramisu. I will be sure to come back here next year when i get back to Baltimore. I was so excited to try this place but was so disappointed. I felt like all the food we ordered was super bland and just... did not taste good. We got the fire starter pizza, miso mushroom pasta, mediterranean wrap, bean soup, and mezze platter. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things but we ordered a lot and didn't enjoy any of it. First time at the place and not new to plant base food. The good, drinks were on point. The cannelli beans were good. The mushroom steak for $32 was dry and needed a sauce to compliment the meal. My new favorite restaurant in Baltimore! I feel so spoiled having this here. From the miso bucatini to the pesto pasta to the cannellini beans to the paninis and pizzas... I'm spoiled for choice! Everything we've tried here has been incredible. We're currently making our way through the entire menu and there hasn't been a miss yet. And the soups and salads are delicious, too! DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE TIRAMISU. I have been on a lifelong quest to find the best vegan tiramisu in the world, and I can now say I've happily ended my quest. The waitress didn't come back to our table to check on us or tell us the status. A couple sitting behind us who arrived much later than us were enjoying their salads and soups. Nice people but the food was not good. I got the Penne Vodka and Blackened Alfredo, both tasted extremely flavorless. Honestly a step below a generic store bought jar sauce. The potatoes were alright and had a flavor, but nothing special. The portion size was small for the Penne, staff offered to give us more though which was the only redeeming part of the experience. We declined the offer for more because it honestly wasn't worth the wait. They were also unable to supply us with any sort of standard seasonings like crushed red pepper or vegan parm, not even ketchup (eventually they realized they did have ketchup), so we were stuck with unseasoned food. Unless you are a desperately hungry vegan with no other options, I wouldn't go here. Maybe we just got unlucky with the dishes we got, but regardless, this food was highly disappointing. Picking up the order was so easy, the two employees insisted on carrying everything to my car and were a pleasure to chat with. The food was amazing!
