I went in to place a quick order of bread. All was ok. The bread was a bit undercooked but very hot. As I sat to wait for it I noticed how disgustingly dirty the floor area looked. Had me thinking that if there isn't care and concern about the cleanliness of the floor, how clean is the food prep area and how clean is the kitchen? Every employee made sure not to make eye contact with us and we stood there like idiots, obviously they didn't want to seat us because god forbid they should have to do more work 45 minutes before they close. We shouted "thanks for ignoring us" and walked out. No wonder the company isn't doing well, shame for what used to be a Michigan staple....we'll never eat at Olga's again. Olgas Kitchen is a great restaurant to eat in, and the flavors are so good. They have the older menu items I remember from the classic ham and cheese olga, the wonderful snackers, and the delicious cream of broccoli soup. This was a family favorite as I was growing up, and the store was in a nearby mall. Olgas is where one of my favorite photos of my mom was taken. I moved away and now I have to travel to Olgas for about 1 hour. I recently stopped here as it was near my dog groomers' house, and I missed the flavors. I can no longer have my beloved orange cream cooler due to allergies. I chose the chicken schwarma olga, and my son chose the Philly steak and cheese olga. I got the tried and true cream of broccoli olga, and my son chose the white chicken chili with snackers. They are currently advertising a make at home variety of food options and the "make at home" snacker basket is advertised for $18. I asked the hostess and server what's included, how do you make it and no one knew anything. When I tried to order at the host stand she kept telling me that it's cheaper to just do the already made basket. I told her this was for later and I'd rather have it fresh even if I had to make it myself and it was $18 advertised as "feeds 6-8" so my expectation is that it would have had more snackers since I was making them myself. Nope. You literally got the same amount of snackers in a regular basket not cooked with day old cut up bread pieces that amounted to MAYBE 2 pieces of bread. This is crazy. Ive eaten at two of their locations. Bloomfield Hill, MI selected the Olga's original. The bread is to die for. The beef was tender and tasty. I was so happy with the restaurant when I had to work in Canton I visited their location. I selected the grilled chicken with tomatoes, lettuce and honey mustard. Another winner. Awesome experience here with my take out order. My friend introduced Olgas to me and this was my first trip to this branch. I placed order through phone and it was ready for pickup on time. Ordered Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Curly Fries and Olga Salad. Chicken sandwich was pure deliciousness, with right amount of chicken, veggies and all the fixings. Curly fries and salad were great in taste and satisfying. The sandwiches are much bigger. Used free dessert yelp coupon and chose mini donuts. They were soft and fluffy on the inside. The hint of sugar added punch and tasted incredible. The service was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The person who took the order was not sure if they could use the yelp coupon as they haven't heard about it before. But she asked me to bring the coupon when I went for pick up. I did show the coupon during pickup, but the free dessert was already in my bag. Convenient no touch carry out service. All employees were strictly adhering to the COVID norms and were masked up as they should be. Will definetly come back again to try out more. There is plenty of parking. The food is very mediocre but the service is even worse. The tables are always sticky and the waitstaff is very lazy. I imagine the manager is inexperienced and the owner is absent. I waited for 15 min to be sat and the waitress seated me in a section that was not being served. Waited for 10 more minutes and no one came. Meanwhile they seated people after me in and immediately started serving them. Finally my waitress came over with an attitude so I left. Lunch today around noon. Not busy yet. Seated right away. It was pretty chilly inside and we both wished we had brought a long sleeved anything. Rose was our server and she was very pleasant and always had a smile. Ordered our food and salads came out a short time later. Entrees right after that. It was the same reliable Olgas food we have always enjoyed. I was seated facing the kitchen and found myself noticing how much fun the kitchen staff seemed to be having. I got the classic Olga and the gyro meat tasted way better than most I've had so beyond the fact that it was cold it was really delicious. Definitely recommend. We sat down and promptly were greeted by the waitress for our drink orders. As we looked at the menu my friend recommended the Mediterranean and I also wanted to try the Peasant soup. The sandwich had Seasoned beef and lamb, hummus, lettuce, vine-ripened tomato, cucumber-olive relish, and feta. I would have to say that this was a pretty tasty sandwich. It was different than the basic Olgas sandwich that I remember. The peasant soup had small pieces of meat in a nice broth. I actually enjoyed the meal. Not too big and not too small. I recently had the pleasure of trying Olga's for the very first time, upon entering the building I was blasted with a flash of cold air which later became somewhat of a nuisance due to it being so cold while dining in. After I was brought to my table I had somewhat of a wait before a server reached me, which didn't bother me all that much because of how busy the restaurant was. I enjoyed the atmosphere overall my only complaint is the lights hanging above the tables have a pretty fair amount of dust collecting on them. I started with the Olga Peasant soup and was pretty impressed however the stackers that came with my soup were very clearly not fresh and somewhat stale. Next we ordered the spinach and feta stackers which I enjoyed and they were definitely fresh, so nice and flaky I was loving every bite. The only problem is once we reached near the bottom they became overwhelmed with salt, other than that I'd highly suggest these as a starter to your meal. Finally we've reached the main course, I order the angus steak burger Olga. As it reached my table I was blown away. The cheese perfectly melted, not overloaded with toppings just the right amount. The garlic aioli sauce on top was POPPING! Every bite felt like the first, all in all I'd recommend stopping here. Only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars would be how cold it was while dining in and the dust on the lighting. Other than that keep up the great work! read more
