After going here for many years I will not be coming back. When Yaz worked the counter everything was good. Now, they have some new guy who has no customer service skills. Won't acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Even when you say hello to him first. Instead he picks up the phone and won't look at you. Doesn't even make small talk with the customers who are waiting to be serviced. Just sits there on his phone watching videos of him racing people and talking with the mechanics about how bad he smoked those people. Even a 1 star rating is too much. read more

There are several tires stores on 56th street and I have been quoted by Tires Plus, Firestone and a few others by. This is by far the best place to take your car to get fixed! They quoted me lower by $50 for each tire to get. Fixed and have never tried to oversell me. They even went the mile to find a used rim for me to replace on my of rims so I can keep a full spare in my car! I have lived in Temple Terrace for more than 30 years and for most of that time, I have considered Olin Mott my go-to store for tires, having bought at least 3 sets of Michelin tires there, and would have given them 5 stars. They were always friendly, dependable, and honest. All that changed last Wednesday. Long story short, I went in for a tire repair. I was told by Yasmany "Yas" Almanza that there would be a wait. I expected as much, so close to the holidays and elected to come back in one hour. Still had to wait another 45 minutes, but frankly that's a minor annoyance. When the repair was complete I stood at the counter to pay the bill. I noticed a sign saying there would be a 3% surcharge added to any invoice paid by a credit or debit card. I pointed out (politely, at this point but that would soon change) that virtually no one still adds surcharges these days, because so few people pay with cash. At this point, any employee with more than 3 minutes worth of customer service training would have responded with an empathetic comment like, "yeah, I hate that I have to charge that but they tell us we have to." That would have defused the situation and ended the discussion. But instead Yas decided that by complaining about a company policy, I was insulting him personally. His reply was, "well, we do". It was delivered with a smug, condescending tone that says, "if you don't like it, tough luck." I was momentarily stunned at such a dismissive, contemptuous remark towards any paying customer. When I challenged his attitude, he replied with, "I don't think much of you either." And he did this in the presence of other customers. The next two comments I made are not printable. Suffice to say that it took enormous restraint on my part to resist the temptation to teach him the manners his parents so obviously never did. Yas may well be a fine mechanic. I have no reason to think otherwise, but allowing someone with ZERO customer service skills and a "screw you" attitude, anywhere near the public was a grave mistake on Olin Mott's part. I will never go there again for any reason as long as this smart-a$$, condescending lout is part of Olin Mott. read more

I only go to Olin Mott in Temple Terrace when I need our cars repaired. I love the staff, they are all super friendly and knowledgeable but most importantly they are HONEST which is hard to find. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! They always give a fair price and I leave happy with the work they do. Thank you for being amazing! read more

I took my car here a month ago. I paid 2,100.00 for repair work. 700.00 WAS FOR LABOR ALONE!!!!!!!! The day after the service on my vehicle I took it back because my AC would not work and my car began to stall. THE manager immediately stated that he would charge me half an hour of labor to take a look at the vechicle. After I had spent 2100.00 I stated no way and took it to the Toyota dealer where they found numerous instances of SHOTTY mechanical work. All done by OLIN MOTT over the years of me bringing tge car to them at various locations they own. I personally will never use this shop again.The qualify of this shop's work has gone downhill since Mr. Olin Mott's death. read more

I usually never write reviews unless they are good but feel compelled to do so to warn people about All Repair locations referred to in this review. Please, please beware. Over the past 3 years I have purchased New sets of tires for both my vehicles with road hazards. A good customer right? Not so.... I had my oil changed right before Christmas weekend. On the way to the movies getting on the highway I looked back in my rear view mirror and a huge cloud of smoke with my dash warning light for oil pressure went off. I pulled over and when the tow truck came (Missed the movie with my daughter) he said "you are not going to believe this" My Oil filter was TOTALLY gone!! Olin Mott decided not to open on that Saturday before Christmas even though it is their posted normal hours. On that Monday I called and explained the situation and they changed my oil and said they cleaned under my car which continued to smell like oil the next several weeks. I was referred to the main office on Hillsborough and was told that I would have only 30 days to see if this issue did any damage to my engine and would give me a FREE OIL CHANGE. How nice of them. I was also told that is ALL they could do. Sorry about your luck is basically what I was told. On the 37 th day I had some issues with oil pressure and decided to take it to my real mechanic to get it looked at since I was told they would not warranty it past 30 days To be fair I did have a slight rear seal leak which was not a major issue and unrelated to the oil pump. The main problem was my oil pump (Which is nothing but gears and rarely breaks with normal use) needed to be replaced which brought back the oil pressure to normal. Since I had some other things done to the vehicle I asked my mechanic to just put on a document what caused the Oil pressure issue and the only major event or issue I had recently with my car was the Oil filter blowing off 37 days ago. Up to that point no issues with my car. I shared this with the supervisor at the Hillsborough location and finally got the decision maker and shared my story. He was quick to thank me for being a good customer and said he would do the research and get back with me. well he got back with me in writing where I had to sign for the document. He stated that because I did not bring the vehicle to their store (They said they would only warranty up to 30 days.) Which I have 2 friends that are mechanics and they both said I could have issues up to 6 months and not to sign anything. They would not help with ANY OF THE COST to fix it. I would have been happy with some kind of partial gesture since I had spent over $2,500 in tires there over the past 3 years!!!! and was supposedly a great customer. In addition I was threatened in the letter because I had my mechanic write up a separate bill showing them what the issue with the oil pump and labor keeping it separate just for what that fix would cost trying to do the right thing and not include other items I had done that were unrelated. (4 tire sensors,) As you can see I am a little upset with the way I was treated so instead of hiring a lawyer I have decided to post this detail review in the court of public opinion. Pleas stay away from these repair shops. I do want to say that the manager at the temple terrace location was very nice and helpful and tried to help me. Even accepted responsibility for the issue but when it reached upper management it fell on deaf ears. read more
