Gonna be real blunt, the food here is on the better end of the spectrum when it comes to grab and go airport fare, but the line and service is average on its best day and atrocious more often than not. For one I don't understand the point of having a bunch of premade sandwiches and salads in the counter coolers if you're just gonna make them fresh every time regardless. Like I honestly wonder when they actually sell any of those things I see every time I'm inching through the line. Also doesn't help that they have 3 diff ppl taking orders, just adds to the confusion and chaos. Meanwhile I observed at least 3 employees not actually doing anything, one guy was calling out orders but not actually making anything, like why? On this most recent visit I literally just waited 10 min extra bc they just straight up forgot to make my order, putting into perspective just how useless it is to just call out an order to someone without follow through. I had to remind someone to check on it after I clearly saw 3 ppl working on orders placed 7 or 8 behind me, with no one making me a "fresh" salad until I asked. No oops, or sorry, just business as usual here. Unfortunately I spend my fair share of time down concourse A of Sky Harbor's Terminal 4. Fortunately this Olive & Ivy location opens early, closes late, has good food, and seems to hire friendly, kind, caring people. I've been here multiple times and have never had a negative experience. Now folks will complain about the prices but it's an airport restaurant so you must have reasonable expectations. Average panini will run you ten bucks and a side is a couple of bucks. read more

I had about an hour between flights when I discovered this little gem of a place in the Phoenix airport of all places. As a frequent flyer, I have eaten take away food every where from here to Moscow, Manila to China and this restaurant and the sandwich I got was just a piece of simple heaven. On the run I ordered a hot roast beef sandwich, a gluten free cookie and a small drink. I didn't expect the sandwich to be anything special and was surprised when I bit into the sandwich. Make sure you order this hot. The roast beef was lean, juicy and pretty tasty. In fact, it was so good that I pretty much scarfed it down in less then 20 minutes and I almost went back to get one to go for the plane. Lol. As far as the seating goes, trying to find a place to sit and enjoy your meal will be nearly impossible during the lunch rush so be prepared to walk to a gate across the way and feast on your sandwich. We recently had a very short layover in Phoenix and decided to stop by Olive & Ivy for a quick dinner. We were really impressed with the quality and freshness of the food but we were even more impressed with their customer service! The staff was super friendly and even offered to clear our togo containers when we were finished with our meals. Even beyond the restaurant setting their staff went above and beyond. As soon as we boarded our flight my husband realized he was missing his wallet. We knew he couldn't get off the plane but he wanted to go talk to the flight attendant about what he could do to try and get it back. Before he could even make it up to the front of the plane the flight attendant was heading down the isle with his wallet in hand. Someone from the restaurant had found it, gone to AA to find out what flight we were on, what seat we were in, and had it delivered safely to us. We are so incredibly thankful and will make sure to stop by Olive & Ivy every time we pass through Phoenix from now on! Thank you so much for such good food and service! read more

First, there isn't much to choose from when it comes to sandwiches to go. Every cold sandwich had turkey and I don't care for it. But the worst part of this restaurant is the music. I'm sorry.... It shouldn't be called music. It was noise. And I was forced to listen to the garbage while I waited 10 minutes for my sandwich. The employees look like a group of misfits. I know it's difficult to get anyone to work so it's slim pickens. Please.... Pick better music that more people will like. I have a headache now. To be honest, I am surprised at how difficult it was to make a reservation at the Scottsdale Olive & Ivy restaurant. I have a party of 13 people I have tried to make a reservation for for the past 4 weeks (5 if you count the very first time I called the restaurant.) For large parties they have you call a separate number for group reservations. After three attempts with the group reservation number, I called the restaurant to speak to a manager and was promised a call back because at that point, there were no more reservations. Instead of a call back from a manager, I actually received a call back from the group reservation number (finally). I was told I could be accommodated outside (it's July in Arizona, so absolutely not), or at 8:30pm. So if you have a large party, I probably wouldn't bother trying to deal with Olive and Ivy. I did have luck at neighboring restaurants. I hope this was an isolated incident and that this isn't how they generally treat people looking for a nice dining experience with a slightly larger group size. UPDATE: I was contacted by the Operations Service Manager, Shelbi D. She went above and beyond any expectation I had about this situation. While she could not secure a reservation for us at Olive & Ivy, she offered to reserve a private room for us at The Henry for our event. The room was beautiful and she went out of her way to make up for any inconvenience we had, and to make our birthday celebration special. I am so impressed with the customer service Shelbi displayed and the experience she created for us. I am so grateful that she took the time to do this, and I will absolutely give Olive & Ivy another try in the future. Shelbi was enthusiastic and so willing to create a good experience for us. Stopped here for breakfast while passing though Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. I think next time I'll pass this location, for something else. It's an airport food establishment...I get it. However, when there are only 2 people in front of you and 2 people behind you and it takes 15 mins to get your latte, only after the 2 people behind you got their drinks...unacceptable. The woman making the coffees and smoothies was snarky and had a bad attitude. She complained about the cashier ringing things up in wrong sizes, loudly and unprofessionally. I watched as that same woman made my latte. When she saw that the steamer nozzle had dried milk on it, she reached into a bucket of water, on the floor, grabbed a rag and wiped it off. Luckily, the coffee was so hot that hopefully it killed anything the rag added to the nozzle. The food was edible, but not good. It reminded me of mess hall slop. I waited a good 15 minutes for my sandwich that was already made when I ordered it and just had to be put on the panini press. By the time it got to me it was already cold. Pretty disappointing. Most airport restaurants lack quality, taste, portions, and good prices. The menu here consist of Italian food mainly pizza's and sandwiches. Here's what makes me a fan, the prices are pretty good and the portions are fairly big. This place gets busy and because everything is cooked to order, there's usually a line of impatient people catching a flight. As for the food, I ended up getting their pepperoni and sausage pizza. On a recent early morning flight out of Sky Harbor, I ate breakfast at Olive & Ivy and picked up a salad for my long flight. I was not impressed with the breakfast options, but the salad was great. The bagel and cream cheese ($3) was not tasty and definitely not worth the price! I wish I had picked up a muffin instead because those looked freshly baked, whereas the bagel was not. I was glad to have a fresh salad on my flight - much better than buying an expensive packaged meal from the airline! The Mediterranean Salad ($7) was made with spring mix, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumbers, Israeli couscous, toasted almonds, feta cheese and oregano dressing. The salad was hearty and the person behind the counter confirmed the salad had been freshly chopped and made that morning. I'll return to Olive & Ivy at Sky Harbor next time I need lunch before my flight and save the breakfast and brunch dining for the original restaurant location in Scottsdale. read more

I'm a fan of Olive & Ivy and the Marketplace in Old Town, and while the airport version isn't exactly the same, it's a big step up from what our airport used to offer! Whether you're on a delay, in between flights, or running to catch a flight, this Olive & Ivy delivers. Breakfast options include pastries, coffee, smoothies, eggs, oatmeal, and yogurt parfaits. Lunch and dinner selections are salads, paninis and pizza. The staff is friendly and almost all of the food is ready or will be ready for you within minutes. The woman at the register was extremely rude. I stood in front of the order sign and was ignored completely. I have no problem waiting if they're busy since I was not being acknowledged After some time I went to the register to order. She asked me what I had ordered and I informed her I hadn't ordered anything yet ..She interrupted me and was mocking me and I told her she didn't have to be rude.
