The woman at the register was extremely rude. I stood in front of the order sign and was ignored completely. I have no problem waiting if they're busy since I was not being acknowledged After some time I went to the register to order. She asked me what I had ordered and I informed her I hadn't ordered anything yet ..She interrupted me and was mocking me and I told her she didn't have to be rude. She continued to mock me and I left. I've been in the customer service industry for 14 years and although I am no longer in it I still understand how to treat people with respect. Good food just like their Scottsdale location. It's quick-service - for lunch, they offered an assortment of paninis, pizza and salads. The line moved quickly (maybe too quickly, I forgot to order a drink and the girl behind the counter forgot to ask if I wanted one - nbd, I had water with me and was getting coffee before I flew out) and my panini came out to my table pretty fast as well. The roast beef panini was super filling and really good. Pizza also smelled and looked tempting. I also grabbed some snacks to go and everything was reasonably priced for the airport - the panini itself was under $10. We went here at the suggestion of our son to celebrate his 21st birthday last December. We were a little disappointed that they didn't accept reservations and that we had to sit hear the entrance and lounge but other than that everything was just fine. The service was very good as was the food and drink. We all had a memorable time. I would like to return again sometime soon. read more

What a great lunch I just had at this PHX airport location! Got a Greek salad & iced coffee. Everything tasted great and I was even more impressed by the service. These days, no one seems friendly at the airports, but the sweet cashier who checked me out was friendly, bubbly & all smiles. As I was finishing up my meal, the manager even walked around and was asking how everyone was doing. Very impressed! This location is Lousy. The manager and staff have bad attitude and obviously hate working here. The manager didn't want to give me mayo or cheese on my sandwich and it wasn't busy. This restaurant is in the concourse at the Phoenix -Tahoe Airport, so they have somewhat captivated clientele. They say they close at 11pm and we got there at 9:40pm and only wanted coffee and hot tea while waiting on our plane. I ordered and the cashier said, "we've stopped serving coffee!" I asked why and he said, "we're getting ready to close!" So we got the hot tea and sat down. Then I watched as this person started pouring two large pots of coffee out. I walked back over and asked another employee if he could stop him long enough to get me a cup of the coffee, and he did. The cashier continued to pour the coffee out, and started cleaning the pots. Now, it's 10:00pm, they are still open for another hour, with no coffee!! I saw a gentleman who appeared to be the manager and called him over, he said he was the manager, so I explained to him what happened and he said that he would speak to the employee, that it should not have happened. This same manager then sat and watched as other employees continued to perform closing operations, even putting tables on the seats while patrons were sitting in the dining area!! The manager even walked over and started wiping off tables, with his bare hands himself, to everyone's amazement! They close at 11pm and all this happened between 9:40pm and 10:45pm, and they were pushing customers out so that they could walk out at 11pm, sharp. I would not ever go back in this rude and poorly managed establishment, if they do these things right in front of customers, can you imagine how the sanitation in this place must be behind the doors! This was the worst espresso of my life! I ordered a 20 oz Cafe Mocha with whip cream. When I arrived the cashier had just finished counting her bank so I asked an associate what time they opened. He said they were open and asked for me to order. I ordered my beverage and waited. Once my beverage was prepared she poured it inside the cup and handed it to me. I immediately realized the cup was hot. When I asked for a sleeve the associate offered a napkin which I insisted. However I had to go back to the restaurant because it wasn't helping enough. Meanwhile I haven't even tried my drink at this point because I didn't want it to burn my mouth. (Or else I would've given it back). Once I got situated at my gate A7 I tried my drink and was immediately disappointed it was still too hot and tasted terrible. As if was straight espresso and water. It wasn't a mocha at all and at this point it was time to board. As I boarded the plane I ultimately decided it was too unbearable to drink and I was anxious to get to my destination to order what I intended. I ended up with a pine nut and chicken salad (mixed greens, Gorgonzola, lots of pulled roasted chicken, cherry tomatoes, and toasted pine nuts) and a piece of the Mediterranean pizza. I got a basic salad, but opted to pay $2 to add grilled chicken. The line went quickly, so I was able to sit down at a table and inhale my salad. Protein, greens, I didn't feel as sick at myself as I was previously. Far from great food, but I was satisfied. More importantly, my body was happier with me for the time being. At just about $9, It did not pack too much of a punch to my wallet either, for airport food pricing. Meh, pretty standard. The sandwiches looked decent, but a little thin on the meats. Great find in the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. I had a few minutes to pick up lunch during a layover and my nose led me to Olive & Ivy (Terminal A across from A2). I got a sausage hash from the breakfast menu (ends at 11am IIRC) for $8. While it was being prepared, one of the chefs told me that if I could finish the entire thing, it'd be on him, haha. We flew on USAir and their terminal in the airport is SEVERELY lacking in food options. Oh sure they are working on opening a few more joints this year but at the time our options were limited so we went in here. We paid $30 for two sandwiches, 2 sodas, and one salad. GEEZE!!! And the sandwiches were more bread than anything else but as I said, in this terminal the options were limited. One positive I could say for them as that they got your stuff out to you quickly. On a connection flight to Honolulu, my girlfriend and I had a layover in the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Starving, we found Olive and Ivy and by our gate, and it looked promising with its long sprawling lines. Customers can order sandwiches, pastas, salads, and the like, freshly made. If you're in a hurry (like we were), plenty of pre-made items exist and are accessible for those in line. We grabbed two things: *Turkey Grinder: Fresh tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, with a slick slab of provolone and the oregano was a nice touch. It's something that I would totally get again. *Chicken Panini: Like the turkey grinder, it had quality ingredients, and the sandwich artists (lol) put generous amount of salami and fontina. The lettuce and tomato were fine. I would totally return to Olive & Ivy, if I were to visit the Phoenix airport again. It certainly beats airport food read more

I travel a lot and spend a lot of my time at random airports around the world. Over the past 2 months I have passed through the Phoenix airport 5 times. I have tried this place 4 times. I have to say I have been very impressed with the food. It is a much fresher and healthier option then most airports offer. I would give this place a full 5 stars, but the service has been poor each visit. The first visit I thought it was a fluke.... I ordered a roast beef panini... After 20 min of waiting I went up to ask where my sandwich was and they had lost my order. My second and third visits I had to ask someone behind the counter to take my order....in both cases the employees were just chit chatting behind the counter.... This is an airport place....I would assume most people passing though are like me and are in a hurry. Sitting around waiting for employees to finish personal conversations is not an option. As I write this, a helpful associate has just checked on me at my seat and has brought me a glass of water. The service at this casual restaurant is better than any regular cafe you'd stop at in town. What makes this place special is their food, the service and the ambience. Yes, this place is inside a airport, but once you step inside, you forget that you are. (And thank geezus for any place you can go to that makes you forget you're in an airport!!). They sell panini's, loaded pizza squares that look so delicious I could almost break my diet to eat them, salads, soups, smoothies, cookies and breakfast items. Everything is fresh and tastes like it was made with love. I've gotten their salads plenty of times - never a wilted green in sight. I had the chicken pine nut salad today and highly recommend it! And their tomato bisque never fails to comfort me and lift my spirits after a long business trip. Treat yourself and try the snickerdoodle cookies. I'm not much of a cookie eater, but I always buy a bag of these to take home. Soft, chewy and perfectly seasoned, you'll wish you bought another bag!
