Usually go there about once a month, ordered the smokehouse BBQ chicken, I get the sauce on the side as they tend to overwhelm the sandwich with it. Got the sandwich, I took a bite, the chicken was frozen and the bun was wet. That tells me their most popular sandwich has frozen meat, frozen bread, they pop in into a microwave and charge almost $10. Appalling!! Are they trying to poison us? Had another sandwich made by the manager, they load gobs of cheese which is extremely salty and one onion slice. I took it home along with the original sandwich. The re-made sandwich was tasteless and tasted like lunch meat that was frozen and reheated. I threw it all away and made my self something else more appealing. Steer clear of this establishment, doesn't appear their "cooks" which are young, know anything and frozen food. I'm usually pretty understanding, but my recent experience left me disappointed and questioning whether anyone is actually managing this restaurant. I am a regular at several different Panera's. I came in to this location around 6:00 PM on a Tuesday--not a particularly busy time--yet several tables were still dirty, the napkin holders were empty (even though I later saw a stack of napkins behind the counter), and the drink machine had no ice. These small details immediately gave the impression of disorganization. I ordered the sandwich and salad combo, both of which were supposed to include arugula. When I picked up my order, the garden caprese sandwich looked noticeably bare. I asked if something was missing, and the staff member informed me they were out of arugula--something that hadn't been mentioned when I placed my order. The Italian salad was also disappointing. Instead of being chopped and nicely presented as it had been on previous visits (and as shown in their menu photo), there were just five large slices of salami thrown on top, with no croutons and, again, no arugula. The only customization I requested was to have the sandwich made on pepper focaccia instead of ciabatta, but it was served on the wrong bread. When I pointed this out, a different staff member kindly offered to remake it. Ironically, the replacement sandwich did have arugula on it--despite being told they were out. Throughout my visit, one employee who appeared to be a manager spent the entire time chatting at a table with people she seemed to know, rather than helping staff or addressing the visible issues. This place has potential, but the lack of attention to detail and inconsistent communication really undermined the experience. I hope the management team takes a closer look at operations and staff accountability moving forward. read more

We used the ordering kiosk by the front door for our dinner order & filled our own beverage cups at the beverage island and then found a table by the gas fireplace. Our order was promptly ready for pickup. My complaint is that our entire entrees were barely warm as well as the two"BOWLS" of soup were just above cold. It wasn't because we delayed picking up the order when called. We immediately picked it up at the counter when our name was called. This has happened at another Panera on Jackson Avenue on the west side of Ann Arbor which leads me to conclude that this is a corporate standard. I hadn't been here in a while. I had no idea a bagel was gonna be nearly 5 dollars. But that's not the worst part. I took it to go. It was cold not cut in half and the cream cheese comes in a small separate container. Like I'm supposed to sit in my car and cut a crumbly cold bagel with a plastic knife and then put cream cheese on it while I'm driving? Absolute terrible service to not ask me if I wanted my bagel toasted or the cream cheese put on it totally overpriced and completely disappointing as far as a cold tasteless bagel. Got the new Buffalo chicken melt and it's okay...if you are looking for a not to spicy Buffalo chicken this is good . The sauce it just poured on the bread the chicken isn't tossed in it which would be a game changer and make this much much better. I would even suggest added peppers on it too. So we've been coming here for a number of years. The past year or so things have changed. The place has become increasing "grungy" but that's not my complaint. The past three months nearly every time we go there, all of the self serve coffee urns are empty. Then you say something to the counter person and they say they'll it, it's brewing. Then they keep waiting on people while you're standing there with an empty cup. Even worse, then they use a pitcher and start grabbing coffee while it's in the brewing process. So then you get coffee that's either ridiculously strong or watery and weak. So on this visit the "manager" was at the counter serving people coffee out of a pitcher. I took the opportunity and mentioned that the past 8 or 10 visits we've been there, they've been out of coffee. Her sarcastic response was "okay?"... "and?"... that was it. I said "don't you want to hear feedback for the business that you're supposedly managing?" She just looked at me... as I walked away, she sarcastically said "sorry". I've seen this "manager" have similar interactions with people a few times. She clearly has no people skills and doesn't understand who the customer is. The other reviews scared me, but I shouldn't have been. Dining area looked fine, and there is a lovely patio. Bathroom was maybe a little shabby, but not awful. One of the best things about Panera is that they don't mind if you hang out. It's the perfect place to catch up with a friend! My salad and soup were delicious. French Onion was light on the cheese, but still good with flavorful hearty broth. The satisfying green goddess cob salad, with bacon, avocado, and chicken, came perfectly tossed and dressed. Love those bottomless hot tea refills, Panera. And for cold drinks you have your choice of 6 coolers with tempting flavor combinations plus soft drinks. Add a bakery treat for $.99? Don't mind if I do. The huge "kitchen sink" cookie blows reg chocolate chip out of the water. Maybe get it to share, though. Cashier said it's like 800 calories! We stopped at this location for a food break because it's near the highway and we love our local Panera. We were appalled by how absolutely disgusting this location was. The entrance and service stations were littered with trash and the tables were filthy. This turned me off so much that I ordered just a drink and a sugar cookie. The frosting on the sugar cookie was completely melted off and came off in the paper bag. I walked up to the drink station to mix lemonade and iced tea and found the regular lemonade container empty. I went to get blood orange lemonade instead but found that this container was running on its own with lemonade pouring out of the container, into the catch tray, and onto the floor. I went to turn it off and the handle fell off in my hand. I gave up and went to hit the bathroom before we left. All stalls were out of toilet paper and there were boogers smeared on the stall walls. This all occurred around 7 pm on a Tuesday and the place was empty. There was no reason for it to be this disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

The WORST service I have ever received. I ordered online while at work and didn't receive my order until well after an hour from when I placed my order. The estimated wait time was 45-55 minutes and my job doesn't allow me to take a flexible lunch. When I finally received my food, my soup was cold, the bread was thrown into the bag at the bottom, and my salad was very small. Have you been to a Panera Bread before? Well, okay, you know what you're getting into. You know the drill. Soup, sandwiches, bread and pastries. I was traveling and needed a quick, reasonably priced meal just off the expressway. I had a Thai chicken flatbread "sandwich" and was amazed by how TINY it was. I opened it up and it had just 3 little pieces of chicken. Egads. My broccoli cheese soup was good, though, so I didn't starve. The bathroom is equally tiny. Two stalls in the ladies room and one sink. Got pretty crowded. If you haven't gotten off at this Brighton exit before, watch out! The roundabouts are crazy. I avoid this particular exit (Lee Rd, #58 off of US23) whenever possible. read more

Its a pretty standard Panera - convenient if have business towards Ann Arbor along M-23, along the East side of the highway. Be Careful this is the exit of the triple circle interchange on the west side exit. But this location is visible from the HIghway. Big enough that you should be able to find a table - grab a coffee and something to eat. They are really pushing the self serve kiosk approach - so waiting at the counter has started to be an issue. There are not many options on this side of the highway, unless you want to go deeper into the large strip mall - which has a couple more options. read more

Brighton is so cool, it has TWO Panera's. Well, technically this one is in Green Oak Township, but does that really matter? In fact, I don't really get the whole Township thing. Every few miles it's a different township, but the same zip code, but a different telephone prefix. Man is Livingston County confusing! The good thing about Panera is that they used to be called St Louis Bread Company. In fact, they still have the same logo and locations around St Louis still retain the old name. So you know you're getting that great St. Louis baked goods taste when you go to a Panera. Now, if you can figure THAT out, let me know. I'm glad they changed the name, b/c St Louis doesn't really conjure up warm baked bread. In fact, it would be like calling it Detroit bread company. Yuck. Anyway, the prices are....Panera The food is...Panera Inside, it looks like a....Panera And if you've never been to a Panera, then this review isn't going to help you much. Lunch with NO heart! Placed my order on the app so it would be ready when I arrived to Dine IN. Arrived and noticed a sign posted on the door: Apparently this area is in a "boil water advisory" currently so fountain drinks and tap water are not available but it said they have bottled water and drinks. I always drink ice water with my meal so this affects me. After picking up my food, I asked for a bottle of water and was told that I have to "buy" water and they are not going to "give" me a bottled water. Since I'm eating a somewhat pricy Panera Bread, um... I can afford to "buy" a bottle of water but WOW Panera Bread you are super cheap and cannot provide your customers with any water given the situation? Like the other locations I've visited, the food was good, and the service was friendly. More of a morning place, but we're enjoying some soup and sandwiches for dinner! The grilled cheese was good (on a panini grill so it's not greasy). The kids really enjoyed their broccoli cheddar and chicken noodle soups. Could be a bit cleaner, but it's later on a Saturday, so no big deal. The only thing I found odd was that they were out of bread bowls. BREAD BOWLS. I've done curbside from this location on many occasions. Because I work so close I figured it would be more convenient to do a curbside order. I have done curbside from this Panera 3 times now and won't be returning. I would arrive I 10:05 the time my curbside would be ready and wouldn't receive my food till about 10:25. 100% my favorite panera location ever!!!!!!! The employees are friendly and warm and I love the delivery option! I remember one time I ordered delivery to my house and the cutest and sweetest girl delivered to me! She was very nice and very funny too! The food was warm and it got there fast! One time they did forget one of my chicken noodle soups, they are human they mess up and it was actually that same girl and she apologized profusely and ran back to the cafe and not only brought the soup but brought us cookies from their bakery as an apology! Best customer service. I just picked up a salad to go & when I got home (15 minutes away) I realized they forgot the dressing. I called to simply just request a refund or new salad when I'd be back at the Green Oak Brighton location. I couldn't even get that sentence out and the manager insisted on dropping off the dressing to my house since he was just leaving the store. When he showed up he apologized & brought me a FULL size coffee cake. Extremely thoughtful & generous. I am a fan of Panera in general, and although I think their food is a little expensive, it is above all REAL FOOD! I ordered online a large lunch order, I love their online cause you can customize it exactly as everyone wants! It and advised me that because it was over $75 it would be catering and that it could be ready no sooner than 11:59am. Okay, I was going for 11:45, but that's close enough, SUBMIT! I get to the store and check the ready for pick up shelf, it's not there. So I go over to the counter and ask. No one knows anything about my order. Thank Dog for smart phones, I pull up my email receipt and show them - Green Oak location, 11:59am today, etc, etc. The manager then explains, "oh, it's a catering order, and we don't have anyone on catering today". And that is my problem how exactly? I placed my order, you charged my corporate card $98.53 and told me what time it would be ready. I have 14 executives who are expecting lunch, and all you (the manager) can say is you don't have anyone on catering today?????????? I'm sorry, but that is just horrendous customer service! I just went there earlier today and got carry out. I got home and started to eat my food. After eating half of my sandwich (bacon turkey bravo) I went to take a large piece of lettuce off my sandwich and there was a black beetle looking bug on the tomato in my sandwich. After almost puking I noticed it was still alive. I called to inform them of what happened and the manager didn't really seem to care. All she said was "oh I'm sorry to hear that." She said she could send me a coupon or something for my next visit. Well there will not be a next visit! Never going there again. I would have probably considered giving them another chance if she would have been a little more concerned about the issue. read more

I eat here once a week for lunch with my workmates. The toasted bagels are great, the iced coffee is delicious. Some of the sandwiches have a unique sauce/flavor that I don't care for but the ingredients are always fresh and well put together. Four stars because they serve everything on these go awful platters that make me feel like I'm at a big boy and the price is a little steep for the caliber of food.
