I haven't been to Olive Garden in years. I remember why. Soup bland. Lasagna was dry, hardly no sauce. Didn't eat it, just put in doggie bad and brought it home. Drink never refilled. Service slow. Great experience for lunch this afternoon at the Pinellus Park location on US-19. I always love stopping in at least once for the "Never Ending Pasta" promotion. The food was great as usual and the service exceeded expectations. Sara my waitress did a great job. She mentioned the promotion in her intro and had a warm and pleasant personality. She attentively took my order and anticipated all my requests and needs. She made great upgrade suggestions to enhance my experience. With my hospitality background I can genuinely say I was surprised to hear this was Sara's first serving job and she's only worked at Olive Garden for two weeks. The three of us had lunch here at 1 pm and we ordered the all you can eat soup and salad for $13 each. This entitled us to their delicious salad, world famous garlic bread sticks and the soup we chose was the gnocci. I ate three bowls of soup, two bread sticks and a dishful of salad. My wife and I decided to order online and have food delivered to us. We already knew it was going to take about 70 mins but that was ok. We was prepared for that. We had 7 orders to be delivered to us. When all the food got here we opened the 2 bags and noticed 1 meal was missing. The Tour of Italy. Everything else came in. Even the salad that comes with the meal. But the actual meal didn't come in. I called and spoke with the manager on duty and told him what happened. He was more than willing to refund the meal. His words " were we are sorry about that, I'll refund the meal that can cover the meal and the salad you received. Sorry about that have a good night " that was it. No hey is there something other than a refund could we possibly deliver you missing food nothing. I have someone here now with no food. Nicole was an attentive server. When our friend Robert was indecisive about the Make Your Own Pasta entree, she offered excellent tips. He added the shrimp to his meal, and finished every bite. She also brought four bowls of salad to the table, and all of them were devoured, along with the bread sticks, which are so good. Husband and my sister had the Make Your Own Pasta entree, she choosing nothing with her angel hair pasta, and he choosing sausage with his spaghetti. I had the lasagna, which was as good, if not better, than what I make. None of us had dessert as we were full from the salads, bread sticks, and entrees. In fact, Husband and I brought home half of our entrees, choosing to eat fresh salad, which filled us up. The restaurant is very nice, and had lots of parking. That's a good thing since they were busy - and it was a Wednesday night! They had several large parties inside, including a birthday party for more than a dozen people in our room. Nicole was also their wait staff, with one other person, but she did not forget about us. We like Olive Garden, and chose this location because it was close to my sister's home, and Robert's place. Went last night for the first time, with some guests out of country. Was seated straight away, staff were very friendly. Our meals were delicious, was brought bread sticks and salad straight away, bread was fresh and still warm. Our mains were equally delicious, all fresh made. I'm not usually one for chains, but Olive Garden has a piece of my heart. I'm not ashamed. The Pinellas location continues to be my guilty pleasure. Dinner here gets pretty busy. I came on a Thursday night and there was a twenty minute wait. Our server, Makenna (spelling?) was professional and truly a sweetheart. She kindly recommended certain drinks over others and wasn't pushy, and wasn't too distant. We noticed her also taking care of a group of 20 with another server, yet we still weren't ignored. The service here is phenomenal! I've had the pleasure of dining at the bar too and the bartender, Stephen was friendly, hilarious and upbeat. It's refreshing when you see a restaurant with a happy, well-managed team. My usual order is their chicken fritta fettuccine alfredo with broccoli added. I've also ordered the chicken and shrimp carbonara and the tour of Italy. The carbonara is slowly becoming my favorite. It's smokey, with slight sweetness to contrast. Overall, amazing flavor that doesn't need any extra seasoning. The fettuccine alfredo can be bland so the carbonara is a nice change on the regular cream sauce. Paired with the Italian margaritas and the black tie mouse cake, you have a delicious, "upscale" meal without the outrageous price tag. I'll continue to come to this location because of its warm interior and amazing service. The food is the cherry on top. read more

What could improve is the question asked by the yelp app..... Well let me start by saying the quality of what the Olive Garden served back in the day was a very decent quality, but now fast forward to today and the company doesn't give 2 shits about what is being served to the customer. It's literally like they are sloping hogs on the farm. This has happened the 6th time I've ordered food in the last year and a half. Corporate needs to hire managers for the kitchen that actually gives a shit and holds his or her kitchen staff accountable for putting out a quality product, this is coming from a retired Executive Chef who has been in the industry for 45 years. The kitchen staff is just going through the motions and not paying attention to details. They have no sense pride and urgency or love of cooking to put out a quality product. This latest visit I ordered a chicken & broccoli Alfredo with rigatoni. More than half of the pasta and broccoli had no sauce coating the dish. It was cold and lacked any flavor whatsoever. The Pasta e fagioli I ordered with my entree was also cold and had a grease slick on top of it, it looked like the ocean after the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Corporate needs to take a vested interest in improving what these snowflakes are slinging out to the public. I spent almost $30 for garbage. Most people need to work 2 hour or more of their life to pay for what I got tonight. It's extremely frustrating to spend your hard earned money to receive the to-go bag nasty funk I got this evening. This is the problem with corporate chains, as long as the bottom line maintains a specific amount or increases, that's all that truly matters in their eyes. The end result of that attitude is the customer suffers and gets screwed in the process. That will be the last time I dine at this corporate chain, unless we have drastic changes and improvements. I will be using my gift card to feed a homeless person. This is directly to the fat cats at corporate. If you wish to improve the quality and overall experience for the customer. I visited this location for lunch and we were in and out within 45 minutes. There is ample parking for this location. The restaurant is clean and quite large! This would come in use for a busy Friday or Saturday night and would accommodate large groups. Our table did the soup, salad and breadsticks for lunch. They have many lunch specials and options which I included a picture of. They also have seasonal options which is nice and rotates frequently. We were greeted promptly and our drinks were brought out quickly. Because this is lunch, they are respectful of time and took our orders quickly. We could also order on an ipad placed on the table. This is a lovely feature that is our option to use but didn't have to. Our soup was hot, salad fresh and breadsticks buttery as ever! The only reason for the four stars was due to the lack of gnocchi in my friends soup. In his first bowl there was 1 and in the second there was none. However, I asked for extra dressing which they brought out immediately to enjoy with my meal which I appreciated. We enjoyed seconds and then did use the iPad option to pay so we could leave when we were ready. I would recommend this location for a quick lunch, prompt service and yummy food! read more

Maria was our waitress and her personality her hands on commitment to making certain that everything was just right was above par to the extreme. we had such a great time visiting with her to the point that we asked for the manager Jade. It was my best friend's birthday. We haven't seen each other in several years, so it was a very special night and the two of their combined efforts to be professional and entertain and support the guest experience. We've been to this Olive Garden many times but this was by far the worst experience we've ever had here! We had to wait to be seated in an empty restaurant and then once seated had to wait at least 20 minutes between bowls of soup when normally they come one after the other. Breadsticks we had to wait longer for. The service was absolutely horrible and we're contemplating not coming back again. Worst service... maybe ever! I placed a large catering order, and tried to get a drink in the bar with a couple of friends while the order was being prepared. We sat in the bar, and only a few other customers were in there. It took about 15 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us, and when she finally did, she said "you can't sit there". (We had moved one chair to accommodate the 3 of us.) So we moved tables... still no service. after 25ish minutes our catering order was complete. The hostess had witnessed our lack of service. I was craving breadsticks, and by god I was gonna get them. We pulled up to Olive Garden at 8:30(ish) and we're immediately sat in the bar area. Our waitress, Caryn, was super great. I wanted to order one of the new green apple moscato sangria, but forgot my ID. (Guess I've got to come back!) We had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which were pretty standard as far as chunks of cheese go. My soup, chicken and gnocchi was yummy as always, and the salad was rabbit food (in a good way, of course. Except that the salad had only two olives. Strange. I ordered the seafood alfredo, which was so yummy. I ended up taking half home for lunch the next day. We ordered zeppolis for dessert which came with a delicious raspberry and a chocolate sauce. All of the food was yummy. I feel like I need to comment on something else though. While sitting in the bar, I overheard quite a bit of discussion from the servers/staff. Every single conversation was friendly, and represented with a smile. I've never seen a group of coworkers in a restaurant work together so happily. Everyone seemed to get along and to be helping each other out. At one point, one young lady mentioned that she did something for the other because of how busy the other was. The customer service was top notch as I asked many questions in placing my order. All staff was friendly and I could tell they were smiling even with masks on.
