Now don't call me Khan, I'm not Chaka And I'm not a souvlaki Backtracker But while this ain't my fave I admit, I do save A place in my heart for food at Plaka I'm thinking of giving a Plaque to Plaka to say they're one of many great Souvlaki diners in Buffalo. Because that's what you should get here - souvlaki. This is a lovely Greek restaurant in Kenmore with super friendly service and it's your typical Buffalo Diner in a lot of ways. The chicken souvaki tastes delicious and sauteed and perfect like Chicken Souvlaki should, and usually does in Buffalo, which is really the home of American Chicken Souvlaki and it tastes like one of the better ones in the city. I guess the main downside is that the portion is pretty small and definitely smaller than some of the places that I like to go - and far smaller than something like Apollo, so for that reason I almost didn't give them 5 - but it's still a very delicious Souvlaki and well worth trying. Buffalo diners are amazing. They're Greek and superior to diners elsewhere. Buffalo milkshakes are amazing too. Buffalo Chicken Souvlaki is really a star of the local cuisine. If you've read other reviews of mine, Buffalo does better Greek Diners and better Chicken Souvlaki than anywhere else in USA. Here, we marinade the chicken for days, and then it's extraordinarily juicy instead of dry on a stick. It's just a better taste and a juicier flavour. Now I've said too much, you'll have to Plaka-te me if you want me to continue.

My omelette was somehow dry, companion loved her chicken finger wrap. Service was fine, decor could use a refresh Woman at a near by table had Beef stroganoff that looked awesome and she spoke highly of it, next time Bit of sticker shock but that's everywhere Coffee just didn't cut it

Super yummy! This was my second time here in 2 weeks and I really enjoyed myself! The French toast was delicious, the over easy eggs cooked perfectly as was the bacon. Good coffee too. Our server was friendly and attentive too. My friend ordered a grilled cheese with fries and said it was very good. This looks like my new go-to for Breakfast! I'll definitely be back! The only thing I'd love more are some gluten free options.

Plaka is your standard family Greek diner with a friendly staff a cut above the rest. Our food was quick, delicious and hot. Our server was friendly, continually warmed our cups and even was able to notice the smallest mistake and fix it before we noticed there was a mistake. The price was good for a delicious scratch made breakfast.

This place is great, the service, the food, and decor. An old school place that is evident it has been well kept.

The green and brown decor and floral wallpaper make dining at The Plaka feel like stepping back in time to the 1970's. This is an iconic Village of Kenmore spot, as it's been in operation for pretty much forever. We stopped by recently to check out the old school eatery. It's a casual, seat-yourself situation inside, and we situated ourselves in one of the booths. The coffee was plentiful; we regularly got refills, which is one of my standards for a great diner experience. We got a couple breakfast plates, along with some fries and an open beef and chicken souvlaki. The fries were on point. The souvlaki was a solid rendition. The home fries were dried out, unfortunately, but the eggs were fluffy and toast well-buttered. The Belgian waffle was delicious. This is a nice spot to stop right in the heart of Kenmore. One less star for the home fries.

Solid place for a good cup of coffee and nice breakfast. Serving something other than home fries is a nice change of pace for the area too.

I asked the waitress if the cheese could be melted & was told there was really no way to do it. It could be put under a heat lamp but that would take some time. We have asked for our eggs this way at other establishments and never received them like this. The bacon was floppy & needed to be cooked more. My daughter loves pancakes, but she wouldn't eat the ones here. I tasted them, and they were very dense, and tasted like they were from a not-so-great boxed mix. The sausage was good, as was the homemade strawberry jam, and the staff was great, but we won't be returning to any Stacks restaurants.

Our food was delivered hot and our coffee cups were never empty.

I have severe food allergies,…read moreincluding dairy, eggs, and gluten, and the only breakfast I ever get to eat is the one I make for myself at home. I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to order breakfast at a restaurant. While visiting Buffalo with my boyfriend in November 2025, his college friend spent the morning taking us to several restaurants trying to find a place where I could safely eat. After striking out everywhere else, Betty's was our last stop--and what a blessing it was! Alice, our host, was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my food allergies were handled safely. I was able to order a bacon, "egg" and avocado sandwich made to accommodate my allergies, and it was incredible. I hadn't enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from a restaurant in over a decade! It was so delicious that I went back again before leaving Buffalo and even ordered another sandwich to take home. For anyone living with food allergies, you know how rare it is to find a restaurant that truly understands safe food preparation while still serving amazing food. I'm from New York City, and I still haven't found a place that compares. 1,000 stars! I can't recommend Betty's highly enough.

The vibe is so right, in fact this restaurant has a personality of its own, which matches its amazing eclectic selection of delicious foods. On beautiful sunny Spring, Summer or Autumn days you can enjoy the neighborhood on the patio or you can always choose to dine in one of their several comfortable dining rooms all of which feature art (Some of which you can purchase ) that will get you leaving your seat for a closer look. We were rewarded with two truly special brunch items ... a layered "French toast" that I stared at as a diner near me ate hers and an orange infused pair of delicious waffles. They were perfect and filling (This ended up as our only meal on this beautiful Sunday.). The quality of service matched the food ... we lingered soaking in the atmosphere just enjoying life at Betty's. When asked by neighbors where we went for brunch we said "Betty's" and they smiled knowingly. Once you're familiar with Betty's you've found a friend.

It's got a vibrant rustic-can, loud but comfy feel to it. The place looks cool inside and out, you just know this greasy spoon is going to have good food and it doesn't fail to provide it either! You can order anything and leave happy (from the apple pie to the pig, beef and chicken sandwich). They have booth seating, counter seating for one (or two) and offer outdoor seating with a little picnic table, shaded area and they also accept cash/credit. On the menu, there's pig, beef and chicken items, even a fish fry. They're great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with or without friends/family.
