I ordered take out on a whim. I don't believe I will ever go back. I ordered the lamb quallaya sandwich special with fries and a drink, and a small order of falafel. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and the quallaya was flavorful. That was the positive. The falafel we cold and the taste was solid garlic; no parsley, onion,etc. At $5.49 I expected awesome! A place 1 mile west and another at the corner of Vets & 1960 have always fulfilled my desire for falafel and will in the future. The rest of the staff seemed to be in a rush to have me leave. Were they trying to close early? My fries were not with my order. I didn't miss them, but it's the principle of getting what you pay for. read more

Went there last night. The food was extremely just amazing and good. We all loved it. I loved their pita bread a lot and also hummus. It was so fluffy and good. The waitress was really sweet and worked hard to get us what we needed. The only thing was that they couldn't make the vegetarian plate for two into a one so that was a little upsetting Bc other places would do it so I don't know what the problem here was. Hummus was amazing! Creamy chicken tekka was so good! The sauce is a little spicy and very flavorful!! The pita was light and delicious!! The only thing I didn't like is they don't have beer or wine and they charge $4 if you bring your own wine. Didn't really understand that part. read more

One of my favorites in the area. It's very low-key and casual. I can get stuffed on a healthy meal as they have a few vegetarian options.

Poor customer service. I walked in to place a take-out order. I was not immediately greeted. When I finally was acknowledged, I asked for a menu, which was provided. After glancing over it and deciding my order (less than 2 minutes), I was not able to immediately place my order because the person that was helping me had begun to chat/laugh with her co-worker and was completely oblivious to me impatiently waiting. I had to verbally ask her if she could take my order. I ordered the fatoush salad w/ chicken shawarma. The hostess was not very knowledgeable of the menu - she was unable to tell me whether I would be served white or dark meat chicken, which was disappointing. She had to check with the same coworker she was previously laughing away with. I was not told how long to wait for my order, but I assumed it wouldn't be very long - I ordered a salad for God's sake! Also, the restaurant did not have many patrons inside and did not look very busy. So I waited. After 25 minutes, I began to glance over at the hostess, which seemingly prompted her to go and make my salad. But then another 5 minutes passed by and I still did not have my order. I approached the counter and asked her if my order was ready. She apologized and said that she was waiting for the chicken shawarma. She also mentioned something about the computers being slow. I then requested for my money back. She then went to the back and emerged with my chicken shawarma. At this point, I was just highly irritated. Over 30 minutes for a meal that should have taken less than 10 minutes to complete. I was hot. And very disappointed. The salad was okay, but unfortunately, there were two very large chunks of the end of the lettuce heads = not edible. I really hope this poor service is not something that is customary here. My husband and I went on a Friday night to sample the menu. Nice decor, well lit. We ordered the sampler platter and a gyro. The soups were delicious (loved the lentil especially--it is my standard for judging). The falafal was one of the best I have every had. Everything was quite spectacular with the exception of the hummus--which I normally adore. It was a bit flat and too creamy for my taste. BUT with so many other amazing apps, pick another one instead. The gyro gave any other we have eaten in Houston a run for their money. We were so full by the time the grilled meats came, we only had a bite of each, but they were sizzling and juicy and so good. Even the pickled beets that come are a treat. The service was quite friendly, but a little slow (they probably could use another hand). We would definitely return. read more

I give this place 1 star for price and 5 star for decorations and taste. The food was delicious but I am a skinny guy with a skinny family and we were still starving after we ate the tiny serving of food they gave us. For 3 people out bill was $78. Their pricing is way over the top ridiculous for what you get. I literally will never go back there based on their very strange pricing. I will say that the employees were extremely nice and fun to talk to. I have paid less for 5 people at better restaurants and still had leftovers. By the way we ordered the cheapest thing we could find. Again I will not return because the food price is an amusing insult to my intelligence. read more

I enjoyed the chicken and rice but the lentil soup, humus, and pita were the stars of the show. The pita was hot and freshly baked and it melted in your mouth. The hummus was clearly homemade and placed on the plate just right with paprika. The lentil soup starter was hearty and exceeded my expectations. I will be coming back for sure. read more

They literally tell you 20-25 minutes on Togo orders when you call the order in, and when you get there, they get your payment then tell you it's going to be another 20-30 minutes. They say they are so busy, but the restaurant literally has 2 tables of 3 patrons.... try out some other places not to far from here for a much better experience and food quality. read more

Trying to eat healthy here was easy. Ordered a small greak salad & Veggie wrap. Both were amazing. The warm bread they bring was very good. I been to other Mediterranean places around town where they bring stale pita bread they probably bought at HEB. Not here...everything is very fresh. The decor is nice, very clean & waitstaff pleasant & attentive. No lunch menu but salads & sandwiches are very resonable at about $7 or so. Entree's seem a little pricey but their descriptions sound wonderful. Originally being from Chicago & fan of Greektown my standards are high- this place is a keeper. read more

Olivit gets a 5 star for the Hummus & Pita!!! The dine in service is a bit slow, but typically when we order to-go it's perfect. The greek dressing is the best I've ever had, the hummus is so good and fresh, the pita bread is addicting! We usually order the shish tawook and my husband and I share it, or I get a falafel sandwich. The girl in front is usually pretty nice,and some of the workers.. the owner however, not too friendly and always smokes outside the restaurant.. gross. Other than that, great place! read more

This place is so good, I always visit them when I am in town! They have the best hummus and pita that I have ever had...and I've had my fair share. Their greek dressing is out of this world!! If it were socially acceptable to put it on everything, I totally would. It is the perfect balance of tanginess and olive oil and seasonings...yum! My sister and I always go here for lunch and they never disappoint. I suggest you order.....well...get anything on their menu, it's delicious. I do suggest you try their tahini as a dip. OMG, just like the dressing, it's addicting! So, the service may not be the quickest, so change your mindset when you go in. Delicious lunch time appetizer plate. The falafel were the best I've ever had! Fresh flavors, nice atmosphere and prompt service.

5 star food-Love the food. Best babaganoush ever! Highly recommended the hummus sampler with tabouli and babaganoush. Bread is very fresh. Hummus with lamb and lamb kebabs are great. Soups are great too. Restaurant is BYOB with Specs right next door. Small cork fee and they require you use plastic cups so their glasses are not 'tainted'. 2.5 star service. It is very hit or miss. Many times it is fine, other times it is dismal. I don't think they train the staff, it is sink or swim. Have had to leave before due to long waits since only one waiter was on duty for the whole place. read more

Besides killing a cockroach on my table while waiting for my meal, I was given a dirty fork, bread was stale, falafel tasted and looked like it had been fried several hours beforehand if not that morning. They charged me full price for a portobello burger that had no bun because they were out and was the size of my palm. My husband said his falafel wrap was not very good either. Hubby and I wanted mediterranean food and found Olivit online. I had a gyro and half a greek salad. The salad was so big that the full size must take a quarter of the danged table. It was so fresh and clean tasting that it surprised even me and I'm picky, even if a bit conservative. The gyro sandwich was packed with thick sliced meat and I could definitely taste the lamb. The bread soft and chewy. I finished the entire thing. My husband had the zenga soup and he loved the spiciness that was not overly hot. He also had the lamb and chicken kabobs. Both the meats juicy and tender. Served with both garlic cream and garlic sauce. Yum. We also shared a falafel which I personally never had before. I totally enjoyed it. Very crispy on the outside without being burnt and creamy goodness inside. I definitely recommend this place. It's not fancy but it is ultra clean, the food was to rave about and the young lady that served us never lost her smile and kept our drinks filled and the food served perfectly. read more

I guess I've been here a time or two when the service was less than - but man, their food makes up for it. I love the chicken hummus, the garlic sauce should be ordered on the side for everything and anything -- and the sandwiches are all off the chain. I did get the Greek salad once and I could not eat the dressing. It was very, very tart but that might just be my tastebuds being trained by the chain, Zoe's Kitchen, to expect something else. Have never found Mediterranean food this good anywhere! (not saying it isn't out there, but I haven't found it). Lamb shank is the best I've ever had, and other dishes are also 100% of what you want and expect. Service has had its ups and downs, but is typically very friendly, at least. I make it a point to eat here every weekend, and sometimes for lunch during the week. I'm a permanent fan! New owner has made things a little better than they were before this summer, too. read more
