High-end place for tapas! I came with a friend on a Friday night and it was moderately busy. The ceilings are high, the staff are super helpful, and the vibe feels perfect for a classy date night. They have an awesome drink menu. My friend and I were both very happy our drinks. The tapas menu is also full of great options. We had the tuna steak, the beef steak, and some scallops. It was very delicious with great presentation. Very fine-dining. This is a little on the pricier side and you're not going to be full from just a plate of the tapas. Tried Ollie & Parks while visiting Denver and ended up ordering the short rib tacos with the arugula salad after our server recommended them. The tacos were rich without being too heavy, and the salad balanced everything out really well. The place was busy when we came in, but the staff still checked on us a few times and kept things moving without making us feel rushed. Food came out quicker than I expected for a packed dinner crowd. It felt like one of those spots that locals actually return to, not just a trendy place with good photos. read more

My first visit to Ollie and Park's and it was a delight. My friend and I stopped here for happy hour after spending several hours at the Denver Botanic Gardens (also 5 stars), and we had margaritas (which we had them alter slightly so that they included orange liqueur), crab cakes and tacos! The staff was warm and welcoming as well as accommodating. We sat on the patio and it was lovely. What a wonderful way to end a beautiful day at the gardens - with a full stomach and a refreshing beverage. Stepped in on one rainy spring day. Wasn't sure where the main entrance was but did find one through the patio area. There is also one by the 17th Ave which will be lot easier. It was very early so we got seated right away, served right away and got the food quickly. Just had to communicate with the server of time crunch we had for the event for the night. Our server was on top of it. Our server explained of American style tapas, shareable dishes. We got 3 things and they were all excellent. The miso cod was delicious, definitely prepared the asian way. The pear and gorgonzola pillow was unique but definitely will revisit. Im not much of risotto fan but my hot date loved it. We decided on Ollie and Park's for a date night and it was the perfect place. We made a reservation, the location is quite large and wasn't very full when we went on a week day night. We were greeted right away and sat quickly after. It was clear they were working with a small staff - 1 bartender, 2 or 3 wait staff and a host that was doing double duty. I was quite impressed at how they navigated everything and everyone. We ordered cocktails and... Pear & Gorgonzola pillows Pimento cheese Lamb ragu Tuna crudo Korean BBQ pork belly Neither of us care too much for Gorgonzola cheese but the appetizer was out of this world. It was unique, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The Gorgonzola is wrapped in a homemade pasta and the pear is provided as a compote. I would have eaten my weight in these. But, we decided to try a few other dishes. The Korean bbq pork belly and tuna crudo were my favorite. I did enjoy that the lamb ragu was not overloaded in tomato sauce but that some Tomatoes, peas, and other veggies with a Light sauce and hand made pasta. Starting with the positives: The staff at Ollie & Parks is SO friendly and accommodating -- truly a highlight of the visit. I also really love the concept of tapas and shared plates. On the food front, the meatballs were yummy, the oysters with pineapple spice topping were tasty and unique, the mussels were fresh and in a flavorful sauce, the blue cheese salad was good, and the crab cake was okay/good. Unfortunately, the rest of the food and experience fell short. Service was very slow -- it took about 20 minutes to get a single glass of wine, which was surprising since the restaurant wasn't full. As for the dishes: * The goat cheese, beet, and arugula salad had great components, but the vinaigrette was so bitter it overpowered the dish. * The calamari was very heavily breaded, with the inside soft and the squid extremely chewy. The sweet tartar sauce also threw me off -- we didn't finish it. * The pork belly had nice seasoning, but the pieces were overly fatty and the pickled veggies didn't balance it well. * The carrots were extremely overcooked to the point of being mushy, almost like sweet potatoes. * The risotto was the most underwhelming dish -- very liquidy in consistency (almost like unmixed yogurt) with chunks of what seemed like imitation crab. It neither tasted nor resembled risotto. Considering the prices aren't low, the misses felt more noticeable. Overall, I hate leaving such a critical review because the people working here were genuinely lovely, but I think it's important for diners to know what to expect. One of the true hidden gems left in Denver! I've been to O&P 5+ times now, and have never left disappointed (or hungry). Their Happy Hour is stellar, service is super friendly, and the food and cocktails are excellent -- Especially for a stylish/casual bar vibe. I came for dinner with some foodie friends. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and looks quite fancy with its white tables cloths and decor. We arrived at 5pm for our reservation as we like to eat early. I ordered the Pineapple Basil mocktail. It was delicious. The perfect sweet and tart combo. I would recommend adding a spicy kick to it! We orders a hodge podge of dishes to share including the beet salad, burrata, pear and gorgonzola pillows, roasted carrots, calamari, and waygu. We had macarons for dessert. My favorites were the beet salad, burrata, and gorgonzola pillows. The beet salad was refreshing. The burrata was extremely tasty. It is a hot burrata, not a cold burrata! That was surprising and I was pretty neutral on the texture of the cooked cheese but the sauce that was in that dish was very savory and tasty. I could dip bread in that all day. The shining star of the meal was the gorgonzola pillows. The pasta was cooked really well, the gorgonzola was present but not overpowering, and the little bits of sea salt shined through and paired super well with the butternut squash puree that was slightly sweet. A perfect bite. Also, how cute are these little pillow pasta folds! The macarons were delightful and perfectly sweet. The server was super nice and gave good recommendations. Excellent service here. This is a beautiful restaurant in a fun location with a lot of different food and high quality drink options. Ryan and I came in to try a couple items and some drinks and plan on coming back soon for a full dinner. We came here during the fringe festival so it was nice to pop in here in between shows. I enjoyed the crab cake the most of what we got and Ryan was a fan of the Brie ! He loved his margarita and I went with one of their speciality cocktails that was made perfectly not too sweet and not too tart it was just right. i have mixed feelings about this place. starting out with the good: really enjoyed the simple, modern decor and furniture. the host was extremely accommodating, and our server checked in regularly. additionally, my family said they enjoyed the mac burger and crab cake benedict. on to the bad: my breakfast platter was cold when it arrived. the eggs weren't fluffy or flavorful. also, the potatoes were bland and tasteless. definitely not worth $18. drink presentation and table decorations could use improvement. lastly, our water cups came out really wet, and my mom's had milky droplets inside. this has never really happened to me. kinda gross. read more

I came here for happy hour the other day and it did not disappoint. We basically tried everything on the HH menus so can't comment on their dinner menu. With the exception of the chicken slider (a bit overcooked and dry), everything was wonderful especially given the price point. The menu had a large variety for HH food and the portion sizes were pretty big. We had the tacos, pimento cheese, Mac and cheese, chicken sliders and grilled Caesar salad. I do wish the salad came with croutons instead of bread, but that's my personal preference. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I had the HH wine which was fine, but hey for $5 wine on the patio it wasn't too shabby. I fear the space is a bit too big and there weren't too many customers, but I'm hoping that it changes in the upcoming months. We tried the gorgonzola pillows, steak, short rib tacos, truffle Mac n cheese, goat cheese crostini, and baked brie. It was consumed so quickly that there were no pictures taken. We went here a little while ago, so I don't remember all of the dishes we got, but I feel like I need to provide some positive balance to my Yelp reviews, so I'm adding this review now :-). The food here was very tasty, and the small dishes make for a nice variety of flavors over a course of a meal. Of course, it's a little pricey given the neighborhood and the type of restaurant, but there were several dishes that we really enjoyed (I can't remember which ones now). The server staff was very helpful, efficient and attentive to my wife's gluten intolerance. The only downside was that it was very loud. There was a large, loud party in the restaurant, and their noise seemed to bounce off the wall and amplify toward us. I can't blame this on my age either. My son also commented several times on how loud it was. read more

Our first time here. We really liked it and would love to go back and try different tapas. We had the Baby Blue Salad, Truffle Mac and Cheese, Pear and Gorgonzola Pillows, and bread plate to start. The Mac and cheese and pillows were amazing. The salad was good but a little too much dressing. The bread and special butter was good except the crust on the bread was almost too hard to eat. For main course we had meatballs, flank steak, carrots, and vegetable risotto. They were all very tasty. There were three of us eating and this was plenty of food. We didn't even quite finish all we had ordered. I would say they could use another server or two. Different people served our food. But the attentiveness of our main server was slow and lacking although I know she was busy with other tables. The decor was beautiful and the chairs were the most amazing. So comfortable. Been meaning to check out this place. Eventually found time and went during Denver Restaurant Week on a Thursday. Had the DRW menu and most of it was tasty. I ordered the PEI Mussels for first course, Sliced Wagyu Sirloin for second, and Tiramisu for third. There was a surprisingly large amount of mussels per each order. There were five of us at the table and three of us had the mussels. It was a hit! The sauce was buttery with amazing flavor. The Sirloin was a bit of a dud. Not bad, but nothing to talk about. And, the Tiramisu was good. You could tell it was either chilled or frozen before as it was pretty solid. Some friends had the Shrimp Gnocchi as their second course and it looked like a very small portion. Though for a total of $35 for the DRW menu, it was definitely worth it! Overall, this place is solid and I would definitely go again to get a better feel for a regular day. The service was slow, but that might be because of DRW. Truly bizarre and unpleasant dining experience. My husband and I went for brunch and were surprised the menu was not tapas style at all despite being billed as such. I tried to order a cocktail and the first 3 I asked for were unavailable so the waitress just made something random off menu. We split a Caesar salad that was fine but it's hard to mess that up. We got the "hash" with short ribs and it was hardly hash. When they brought the hash out I thought they put tortilla strips on top of the potatoes. It was just those crispy, un-fork-able potato chips, a pile of shot ribs salted within an inch of their lives and some eggs. The service was bad. We got checked on once and if I didn't know any better, our waitress was fried or hungover. The decor was underwhelming and disjointed. Overall a waste of money. read more

We ordered breakfast - even though brunch was advertised, there was no brunch menu - it did not arrive for 50 minutes -- the eggs were ice cold, the knife was dull and the prosciutto was tough, so could not cut or eat - asked for another knife - it was even duller, and better food not offered. We loved everything we ate and that Albariño was so %#*!;$&@ crisp and refreshing!!!!! We had the chef bread and butter, beet salad. This was course 1. Heaven on earth especially that goat cheese. Then we traversed the flank steak which was sliced in such a way that was perfectly easy to eat and resembled the flat irons ..genius..., and fried green tomato. We weren't sure if we have eaten a fried green tomato before but we decided that if we did, it wasn't as good as this one, because this one was just so good. We finished our journey with some healthy carrots and then dove head first into a melting cheese delicious godlit pool of scalloped potatoes. Eating the scalloped potato felt like how I imagine our bottle of wine felt as it nestled into its cozy ice bath. Our server Hope was the star of the place. She was amazing and the only server for as far as the eye could see. I don't know what led to this understaff situation but she killed it. Now let me express some concern as well. When you pay the bill with a credit card, the tip line says "Additional tip" not just "tip" like normal. This confused me as I thought long and hard: was this a place with a tip pre-included? I'm not opposed to that! However I didn't think it was, and then I concluded this was not a place with the pre-included tip. So why the word additional? As if I already gave a tip...and then had a place to make an additional one? Maybe i'm crazy Frankie with too much Albariño . But my point here is that the service was really good, and I would hate to think that others might be confused and leave less because of the wording there in this day and age where it's not uncommon to have a gratuity built in. The volcanic sea salt sprinkled on the fresh pasta pockets were absolutely perfect, and the crab cake was too good to wait for a picture. Our server Richie provided excellent explanations for all of the dishes as well as a very descriptive offering for daily specials. Ambience was top notch, presentation was exceptional, and the service was unparalleled. This neighborhood gem is not to be missed. Yet another "new favorite restaurant" review. I've been to this relatively new spot a couple times in the past 30 days. The food is very good. We had the miso cod, shrimp ceviche, tuna credo, crab cake and pimento cheese (served with grilled artisan bread...awesome!). The staff is friendly, welcoming and competent. Both times I visited it was a week night and the place was nearly empty, which is hard to explain. Yes, it's new. Yes, there's not a ton of parking and it's all street parking. But it's a lovely experience once you're inside. Assuming it catches on, you'd be smart to get there and enjoy it soon while getting a reservation isn't a challenge. It's a gem. read more

Was really disappointed in this place. Weird ambiance and interactions with servers. Was told that gluten free would be really hard to accommodate by one waiter, then a second waiter followed up saying that almost everything was gluten free (it's not). The allergens on the menus are marked wrong, which the waiter openly admitted. the food I did have was just ok. Additionally, the only prices listed for the cocktails were the happy hour prices. when I questioned this after seeing the price on the bill of almost double the $, the server just shrugged and said yeah I don't know why they do that. I hate to write less than a glowing review of O&P, but it's time. Love this place. The bartenders are always awesome, and if you go for happy hour, they will be your servers more than likely. That being said, the rest of the staff, without exception, are some of the least friendly, seemingly miserable, people. And, I don't like unhappy people handling my food. And truth be told, the more miserable the employee, the worse my food actually was. We have been going here quite a bit over the past half year, even bringing our service-oriented friends to check it out. However, I think we'll be scaling back our visits.
