Okay, so I don't give a bunch of five star reviews but hear me out. This deli isn't lavish and super nice but they deliver on their promise of a solid sandwich. I had a chicken salad with avocado on French bread (I think that's what it's called there). I loved how they hollowed out the center of the bread so all the ingredients didn't squish out and it left a nice hollow cavity with just the right amount of center soft bread with a perfectly crispy crust that wasn't too hard. Take the sandwich to a local park and enjoy sitting there watching people and eating your sandwich. Again, not a sit down deli but solid sandwich. read more

Solid sandwich spot- just DONT get anything with bacon. HUGE hero portions- I got The King Hero for just $10. Turkey and cheese was delicious, lettuce and tomato were fresh. The bacon was really stretchy and clearly old/reheated, but it was still a hefty sandwich after picking it out. Need to try the cold cut sandwiches! Pretty small convenience store inside with a juice bar. Employees are short and gruff but not rude. read more

Good local deli serving your daily needs from a hearty breakfast to a cold cut sandwich. On my recent two trips to my doctor nearby, I had the Chopped Cheese Sandwich and a Sausage Egg & Cheese on a roll. The Chopped Cheese was quite delicious, though I found it a bit closer to chili because of the strong tomato sauce flavor. I wish it was cheesier, but that's a small complaint, still tasty. As for the Sausage Egg & Cheese, I got two patties and two eggs, which filled out the soft roll perfectly. Should have gotten double cheese too. After some drinking, we came by here for some Chopped Cheese ($11.50 on a hero). The chopped cheese is super greasy, but delicious. The meat is infused with a taco seasoning here, so has a Mexican flair. All the vegetables were fresh and made for a great late night meal. Plus, it's open 24/7! read more

Fries were real dry & seemed double fried - kinda like the paninis are where they're premade / pressed & then warmed up on the spot which they do by microwave & maybe on the grill (couldn't really see that past). But my tuna panini was way soggy & not even a bit toasted or grilled on the bread. Of course all the toppings are soft & wet sitting in the tuna all day. Worst 9$ I spent on a panini. The famous "Chopped Cheese"! It was a given that I was going to find one and see what all the hype was about. This deli just so happened to be a block away from my hotel. Let me be honest and say that I quickly googled to see if there was a nearby place I could try instead, just because of what the place looked like, but I'm glad I decided to stay. I was completely shocked when I saw how fresh their veggies looked. I was not expecting that! As this was my first time trying a chopped cheese, I didn't even know what came on it. Great bacon and egg cheese!! Would go back for that. We tried the chopped cheese as well. Disappointing. I recommend Blue Sky Del (Haiiji's) for the best deli chopped cheese. We ended up throwing most of our chopped cheeses away from here. It's big and has a lot on it, but was lacking flavor and the meat didn't taste seasoned well. Convenient place to grab a good sandwich while walking throughout the city. Unlike some other delis in town, there's no long line to order your sandwich. They have a good selection of hot and cold sandwich options, with the ability to select the type of bread it is on. I ordered the Scooby-Doo Sub and it was good. The chicken was warm and crispy, however the bacon was very chewy and seemed like it was sitting out for awhile. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and they added a good amount of mayo so the sandwich wasn't dry. You also have the ability to add additional toppings to your sandwich, just like subway. For the price, I was a bit disappointed it wasn't as delicious as some of the reviews mentioned, but it was good and filling. read more

Maybe the nicest deli I've ever been to? As we waited for our order (BEC, Chopped Cheese, fresh juice and a smoothie) there was a string of regulars that came in that they knew by name. I pretty much visit Olympias for the awesome pressed juices.. I order the same Olympia Green which consists of spinach, kale, ginger, apple and I gave them add a splash of pineapple. Their juices and smoothies run @$5.95 for small and $6.95 for large. The deli also offers a variety of sandwiches, platters, salads etc. It's located in the heart of Flatiron. Terrible bacon and egg sandwich. They use beef bacon, not pork so it was inedible after walking there in the rain on a Friday morning. I threw the sandwich away. Nice people, clean deli and when I asked about the bacon, he said, "OH, we use beef bacon, that's why". I explained I wish they told me. Seems don't use pork bacon for their religious reasons. Smdh. Great deli with a variety of different sandwiches and foods! Great selection of drinks as well from the fridge. Ordered the chopped cheese on a hero bun ($11) you can also order it on a roll ($10). It's pretty huge on a hero bun and it will fill you up. Ground beef, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, thousand island sauce all together in a bun, it was delicious! I come every time I am in town no matter what part of the city I am staying in. I absolutely love this deli. The coffee is delicious and you can't beat $1.50 for it. The fresh made juices are refreshing specially now in the summer. I have a ginger allergy so it's nice that you can customize the juices. The guys behind the counter are all super nice and the food is always fresh and quick. I always get the chopped cheese and it's big enough to eat half now and take half on the plane on my way home. There's a park a few blocks down so we always get out food and go sit at the park to eat it. Best chopped cheese in the area. read more

Chopped cheese for the win. I have been talking non stop about chopped cheese since I stepped foot in nyc. I originally wanted to go to Blue Sky Deli up in Harlem, but given it was super far from Times Square where I am staying, I found Olympia's on yelp and went for it. This place has sandwiches, smoothies, and fresh juice! We got a chopped cheese on a hero and OMG amazing. Ground beef loaded with flavors, cheese, peppers, and sauce YUM!! For $9 I could eat this daily! The hero is huge so I would come hungry or bring a friend to share with like I did. The fruit and veggies were warm, they did not appear to be washed first, and the final resulting smoothie looked very different than the picture. Hmm wasn't sure what to expect but made my way to Olympia to check out what kind of sandwiches this place is bangin out. Standard NYC deli feel and on the board, they have the standard sandwich combinations but I was looking for the "chopped cheese" sandwich that I saw online. Didn't see it anywhere, but I ordered it anyways and he knew right swaym asked me if I wanted lettuce tomato, everything on it? I said sure! Lol. We stayed in Chelsea on our trip to NYC and as a sandwich enthusiast, I just had to try a chopped cheese! We didn't have enough time to go to Harlem but found Olympias in Chelsea had a chopped cheese with good reviews. The guys working we're super nice and happy to hook us up. Wow. First chopped cheese other than one I made for myself at home, but this has got the be the gold standard for a quick chopped cheese in the city. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.
