Good friends swear this is the best bagel in the city so I've been meaning to try it for a while. I attempted another day but they had a giant line on a Sunday morning in the rain. So needless to say I waited to return. I thought they were just bagels but was shocked to see it's a full blown deli with a massive menu and lots of baked goods too. The cookies are enormous. I tried an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. Loved the bagel and that fact that it was seasoned on both sides. The cream cheese was a bit watery for my liking. Price was reasonable and they moved the line very quickly today. Will definitely come back to try more things. Come prepared to order so you don't hold up the line.

This place is great. Very tasty bagels that are crisp on the outside and satisfyingly chewy on the inside. I got the house special (cream cheese, capers, onions, lox) and it didn't disappoint. All the ingredients were high quality!

The workers are very efficient and the line gets moving pretty quickly. Everyone was also very nice. I tried the lox bagel which was their house special, I especially loved the jalapeño cream cheese they used.

Bagel was salty and yummy. The salmon wasn't as tender as I like it. The service was very good. Portions are great as well. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

Regular bagel place, nothing special. Served fast and well. All payment forms accepted.

The best Everything bacon egg and cheese bagel I've ever had. We did get lucky though, the bagels just came out the oven and were steaming. Hint: If you are in a group, I suggest everyone order their own order, that way you have multiple people working on the order. If one person orders for the group, one person will be working on that large order and it will take longer. You will be awkwardly standing and waiting while others sail by you. I didn't mind because we were able to snipe the precious stools inside on a freezing December day!

We love this place! We were in town for a week and we came here for breakfast I think 5 times. The staff is very friendly, but this place is super busy so you need to know your order by the time you get to the counter. If you come at a slower time they will chat with you and make recommendations. Over the week we tried the plain bagel, everything bagel, and the onion bagel. I will say my favorite is the everything bagel and I love the scallion cream cheese. The coffee is pretty good, nothing special there. GET THE PISTACHIO MUFFIN!!! The pistachio muffin was something we ordered a few times because it is just that good. Don't let the long line scare you, it moves pretty quick.

Great bagels - I kept it simple and got a plain bagel with scallion cream cheese and and Iced Tea. There are a few tables outside- but a lot of the chairs are broken so just be careful when you sit down. It was not super busy especially for a Sunday, and it seemed a little disorganized, mixing things up, bumping into each other... I would just make sure to double check l your order if you go when it is busy!

Bagel & Schmear is COOKIN UP THAT GAS. This is a great bagel sandwich and the dudes taking orders in there are friendly and on top of it. Not the common New York bagel shop vibe. They have a great system in here and an even better product. The bagels are so fresh and the eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection Lucky for us, we're staying close to here. Might have to be a daily try. Cheers!

The pumpernickel bagel was exceptionally good. Very efficient line. I can see why this place has so many positive reviews. Well toasted bagels with great flavorful cream cheese. Great to come here before catching a train to Grand Central

Open on New Year's Day and absolutely packed, with a line out the door but fast service! Had a large menu with plenty of choices to choose from. Would come here again!

Solid bagel spot! They run a really efficient operation, so the line moves fast even if it's long. Wide variety of bagels as well as other items like coffee, smoothies, omelettes, and more. Very limited seating inside, so I ate my food elsewhere.

I ordered a toasted gluten free bagel with cream cheese and what I got was cold and pale. I took a bite and it was disgusting. Many gluten free bread products need to be toasted to be edible which is why I always get them toasted. My receipt said toasted. The bagel was pale and cold. And falling apart. A different bagel store refused to sell their gluten free bagels untoasted. At least they didn't give me food that I couldn't eat. I will not be going back to NYCB&CH anytime soon because that experience left a bad taste in my mouth...literally. But if I do I will make sure to check my bagel before I go.

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Anyways, the girls had bookmarked another bagel establishment but the line was hella long like they were giving away Knicks gear for free. Ironically another "bagel shop" search on Yelp showed PopUp Bagels was like three doors down lol. No line! That in itself was making me question but there is a PopUp in San Diego that my daughter swears by. PopUp advertised itself as "Not Famous, but known." Whether or not this bagel is better than the one store three doors up is something I cannot attest to. However I can say THIS WAS A DANG GOOD BAGEL! And it was freshly made! How do I know? It literally burned my fingers when I ripped it open! The pain was worth it. Outside, a slightly crisp texture generously coated with "Everything". Inside was a dense and chewy dough that was pliable but able to withstand the dipping and shmearing of cream cheese (which was smooth). Best I have ever had for sure but then again my most common bagel experience is the place named after a scientist where tons of bagels are sitting in bins for who knows how long. So why wasn't this a 5-star experience? One, I only ate one thing. Two, sevice and setting are "just there". Considering it wasn't busy I would expect a bit more of a welcome. To eat you're bagel you can full on just leave, sit at the three stools inside where it is super hot (bc hey they actually cook), or three stand outside. There is a little, I'll say "patio", where you can stand, eat, and true story, watch two people argue about who gets to sort through the recyclables from the neighborhood eateries. Snack and a show???? I just stood near the door and enjoyed my bagel.
