These guys were great from beginning to end. We got quotes from 5 different moving companies and these guys were about 25% - 35% cheaper than everyone else. My parents had used them for 2 moves and had great experiences so given their price it was a no brainer. We had all of our initial discussions with Shane and he was very responsive, up front about costs, and overall very accommodating. Our closing got moved two times, and he rescheduled us with no problems. The second time it was moved it was less than 48 hours notice and he still rescheduled us without any hassle and no additional fees. Our move included back to back closings (sale at 12:00 and purchase at 2:30) so timing was critical for the move. The crew arrived right at 8:00 like they were supposed to and got to work right away. The move out of our house took a bit longer than anticipated but much of this was due to a few things that we had left off of the inventory sheet accidentally. This put stress on the movers as they ran out of space for a few of the things at the end but they got creative and made it work in the end when it would have been easy for them to tell us that we sent an incomplete list and they simply didnt have space to move everything. The crew then sat around and waited for us for almost 3 hours at our new house for us to finish with our closing for a pretty minimal fee. Unloading went great from there. We showed them each of the rooms that aligned with the rooms at our old house and they moved almost everything to the proper spots without asking for guidance, when they werent sure they asked and nothing ended up in the wrong place. This was appreciated because i had rented my own truck for all of our boxes so i was able to focus on unloading that without interruption. Not a single piece of furniture was damaged/lost in the move, as far as we can tell it all looks exactly like it did when they packed it up. Regretfully i forgot the foreman's name but him and his 3 crew-members were all fantastic. They were extremely polite from the start, and we could tell they took pride in their work. We provided them coffee/donuts for breakfast, pizza for dinner, as well as cold drinks throughout the day. They repeatedly thanked us for our the food/drinks but they never used it as an excuse to take an extended break, mainly waiting until the clock had stopped at either end to have anything. Pure professionalism from beginning to end. TL:DR - These guys were great. Excellent communication, accommodating, very professional, and extremely hard working. Also, the cheapest movers around but in no way did their service reflect a "budget" company. Will highly recommend them to anyone i know looking for movers in the future read more

I really had a problem with the movers this time Every other time I have used Olympia Moving, the men were wonderful and that is why for the third time I reached out to that company for my move. The lead mover was rude. He was carrying the top of my sons desk out to the truck with no moving blanket or shrink wrap around it and it was a very expensive piece of countertop. I asked him to wrap it and he said "What is your job? What is your job? Listen I dont tell you how to do your job, dont tell me how to do mine" We got into an argument and he threatened to take everything off the truck and leave it and not do the move because I wanted one piece wrapped. It was very upsetting because I knew how upset my son would be if he saw that piece unwrapped being carried off the truck The head mover said he was putting it between the mattress and something else and it would not be scratched and he was saving me money because it would take time to wrap it in the moving blanket and shrink wrap it. I cannot believe that 5 minutes was an issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We must have sat there for 5 minutes arguing because he was so mad that i asked him to wrap that piece. I said I was going to complain and he said there was no one to complain to since technically he was not an employee and did not "work" for Olympia. I said I did have someone to complain to since he was obviously a contracted service that you use and I could complain to the company and Olympia would not hire them as much since he was so rude. One of the other 2 movers came up to me after the argument because I was so upset and said to me "he is crazy." The head mover finally gave in and wrapped the piece and then when we got to the new house, he actually shook my sons hand and thanked him for being a good customer when my son didnt do anything. Can't say enough about the experience with this company- outstanding! From the first phone call to book, to the repeated updates at timely intervals leading up to the move, and move day. They were precisely on time- one of my pet peeves is punctuality. Move day- received a call 20 minutes before arrival. Two workers as promised, on time. Both Juan and Patrick were exceptional. Very personable and boy do they work! They never stopped moving. Had all the furniture, boxes and two pieces of hand wrapped and protected glass loaded and ready to roll. Took great care to wrap and protect all of my daughters belongings. Moved my daughters stuff to her new apartment; from Rosemont to south loop area of Chicago. On site- again very punctual and they moved all of her belongings, furniture and numerous boxes to the 17th floor in an hour! These guys were exceptional. They inventoried everything at both locations and were very thorough. They helped me unwrap everything, checked for damage, which nothing was damaged, and again inventoried the belongings in the apartment and the truck before leaving. I couldn't be happier with this move. Price was exactly as quoted, no hidden fees. Can only speak from personal experience, but I would use this company again without hesitation. Possibly moving to AZ in the near future and I will call Olympia first before considering another moving company, I was that impressed. Both Juan and Patrick should be commended for their professionalism, work ethic and customer service. They worked from beginning to end without stopping to even take a break. Olympia saved our move! We had a two day move scheduled for a Saturday and a Monday with a different company. On Saturday the movers were moving our furniture from their storage facility where it had been for the past 8 months and when they showed up they had lost some of our furniture and all of the screws to reassemble our furniture. A three hour move turned in to an 8 hour move waiting for their "fix it" team. Needless to say we cancelled our move with them to move out of our condo on Monday. Lucky for us, we had a referral to Olympia and they were able to squeeze us in last minute. The team that helped us schedule the move and the crew that was sent to execute were amazing! Everything was handled very carefully and the team were respectful of our belongings. They even moved an item that the other movers wouldn't touch because it was "too heavy" to walk up a flight of stairs. We have used Olympia Moving & Storage many of times throughout the years for our commercial use. Those moves have consist of entire offices, multi floor units, apartment complex moves, in office moves, a few client homes, etc. Every time they have been efficient, courteous, paid attention to the items they were wrapping and hauling, they have taken apart and put back together many of the items we needed to be disassembled and reassembled. There were a few items we truly thought there was no way of getting out, moved. They have moved items that were very large and heavy. All these moves were completed with no damaged. All of our clients have been extremely happy with their services. We recommend them to everyone who is looking for a moving company. The inside and outside staff are very professional. This is my second move with Olympic and once again, I could not be happier. The movers called and asked if they could arrive early. They did and immediately got to work moving my things. They took great care in wrapping my items to protect them. And they had my one bedroom apartment completely loaded in an hour and a half. At my new location, there was no elevator, just three flights of stairs on a hot summer day. They never complained once. At my new place, they asked where they should put my furniture pieces, put back together the pieces they took apart and worked very carefully not to scratch my new wood floors. The movers were pleasant and professional and one could not ask for more than that. My move was estimated to be 4-5 hours. These guys did it in 3 hours and came in $150 less than the estimate. There are two things that I did not know going into this which I wanted to share: 1.) I have a 55 inch TV and they would not move it without charging me an extra $45. I believe they said that anything over 45 inches has a surcharge. 2.) They made me sign a form absolving their liability should they break any furniture made from compressed wood (furniture from IKEA, Walmart, Target, etc...), of which I have several pieces. That all being said, it was a good experience overall. The only reason that I give four stars instead of five is because they did not appear to make much of an effort to NOT break my cheap IKEA furniture. They broke a shelf on a bookcase, and a door on my entertainment center. I understand that the furniture is cheap and fragile, but they did not need to throw it around the way that they did. read more

I hired Olympia just recently for a move from the suburbs to Chicago because I was referred to them by a friend. I was able to text the owner, get a prompt estimate, sign accordingly, and I was set. The three men moving crew showed up on-time to the first pick up location and worked quickly to wrap everything up. Additionally, they made a second stop at my to-be roommate's house in the suburbs before moving to the city. The move in day was super hot and we are on a third floor walk up. Miguel and his crew did an outstanding job working efficiently and professionally to ensure that our time was valued and that all of our items got where they needed to be. Just got my things after storing for a month. Guys were on time. Emptied the truck quickly. Had me check the truck then went over a inventory of all my things. I didnt even notice them tag and count everything when they picked the stuff up. Very drletailed and thorough. I did have the same guys deliver. That was nice. Put my stuff back together no problem. Might have been a little more work if different people had to deal with it. The pick up day the estimate was a little low and i spent $50 more than i expected but the delivery estimate was high i guess, i spent $50 less today. I guess all thungs considered it all leveled out. Good fair price for a service well done. Just recommended this place to my sister and her girlfriend. read more

Gave me a window of arrival between 3-4 they arrived at 341 so thats good news. Wrapped up all my valuables for me which was very nice. The move out only took them 32 minutes (i timed it because you pay by the hour). Move into the new place 3 flights up no elevator just under an hour. Didnt stop working the entire time. The only reason it get 4 ans not 5 stars is becuase it took them 3 minutes to go 12 city blocks. While there reason was acceptable, being that the truck was to tall to fit under the train. I feel that they should have a contigunsy plan for this. I have driven a many of trucks in the city and my gps always tells me the route in which my truck will fit! But still i would use them again! read more

Had a crew of Patrick, Carlos, and Lopez. they were great. Super fast - way quicker than i would have expected (you hear so many stories about movers dogging it so it takes longer). Patrick was in charge and was polite, professional, and again FAST. They were all working their butts off. Only disappointment was that they couldn't fit my couch into my new place, but that wasn't their fault. They tired really hard but it would just not fit. They were very cautious to make sure they weren't scraping the walls or damaging any of the items they were moving. Will go right back to them again and will request Patrick. read more

I was really nervous hiring a moving company because I read a lot of horror stories, but I ended up choosing Olympia Moving and Storage. I couldn't be happier! I moved from a 3rd story walk up to a first floor apartment about 10 mins away from each other. I was quoted 4 hrs, but it only took them an hour and a half from start to finish.Which save me a lot of money. The 3 guys they sent worked so fast and I didn't have any damage to any of my stuff. And a plus I didn't get charged any extra for my 3rd story walk up. They were Awesome and I would definitely recommend this company read more

Highly recommend Olympia they give me an estimate on how much it would be. But we only had to pay for the actual time it took from when they got there to when they left. Omar and his crew did an awesome job! They called us when they were an hour away arrived on time and worked VERY quickly. This is my 5th time using Olympia Moving and Storage within Chicago and they have been great each time. I always get the first morning slot for my move and they either come early or right on time. They are quick, efficient and skilled. Granted each move has only been a few blocks within Chicago, but I have never had any damage and they always follow all of my directions for where to place my belongings in my apartment. I definitely would suggest them for anyone moving within Chicago, I cannot comment on out of state moves or far city moves. read more

We are so pleased with Olympia Movers organization, execution, and patience! They arrived early and promptly began working. The movers were careful and considerate. A perk of their company is that tape and shrink/bubble wrap is included in cost. This kept the cost down significantly. We would recommend Olympia Movers to everyone! We were challenged with a move in and out on separate days, but both moves with Olympia Moving and Storage were phenomenal. Ibe, Dontain, and Rivard were tasked with moving countless pieces of furniture and boxes up 3 flights of stairs in a building without a functional elevator. They rose to the occasion, never complaining and even finished EARLIER than the time anticipated. Best movers I have ever had. Friendly, very strong guys who were considerate of the spaces we were moving out of and into. The price quote was accurate, they used the time continually, and made sure to ask us where to place each piece of furniture in the new place.
