Probably the worst Greek food I've ever tasted. As a lover of Greek food my wife and I went to an invited dinner and as we were not particularly hungry, we ordered the Greek salad. The salad was composed of lettuce, grated carrots, no tomato, no cucumber, no olives, grated feta cheese that hid this mountain of grated carrot underneath. Utterly awful. I've had both lunch and dinner here several times each in the past few years. Lunch has always been with a large group of ladies and our service & food was always good. Dinner service has been fine for the most part, had one night of poor service, but otherwise ok. Food has always been good. My only complaint is that their dinner plates only include main item plus one side. I really feel for the price it should include two sides. They had one server taking care of the entire lunch crowd, which consisted of about 6 or 7 tables. Got our order wrong and couldn't keep up with the water and other requests. Since moving here, I have been on a quest to find a great gyro here in the Upstate. I've been here for both Sunday breakfast and dinner, and I was hopeful after the breakfast that we might find a decent one here. Unfortunately, this proved not to be the case. Still, they do have some decent items on the breakfast and the dinner menu other than their gyro, which is why I am debating between two and three stars. I have been fortunate to order tasty items both times we were here, whereas my partner unfortunately has not. On our breakfast trip, I ordered the Greek Omelet with home fries and he ordered the Eggs Florentine with grits. The omelet was delicious - a reasonably-sized omelet loaded with both spinach and feta. And the home fries were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and well-seasoned. This was definitely a four star meal. The Florentine was less great, with a smaller portion and mediocre Hollandaise (definitely not homemade). The grits were mostly flavorless and not terribly creamy, possibly instant. His meal was in two-star territory. We also ordered coffee, which was standard crappy diner coffee. However, breakfast was less than $20 and he agreed that he would come back and try something different on the menu, seeing as my omelet was good. On our dinner trip, I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and he ordered the Gyro dinner plate. Before our dinners came, our waitress brought out a couple of rolls for us. The rolls were tasty - great crustiness on the outside and a tender bread inside, and served with an absolutely delightful garlic herb whipped butter. This was probably the best part of the meal. Quickly the rest of the food came out. The chicken was super moist and full of flavor. For $12, it included a two decent sized boneless chicken pieces. I've never ordered it and gotten whole breasts before, as I have always seen it cut into bite-size pieces or small slices similar to gyro meat, but it was tasty. It came with tzaziki, a quartered pita, and a side. I had got the garlic mashed potatoes, which I wouldn't order again, as I am pretty sure they were a combination of fresh potatoes and instant (which was weird) and quite bland. In my hometown, we had a fast-food gyro place that had huge portions for less than $10, as well as being super delicious. I still hold all places to a similarly high standard. Unfortunately, the gyro at Olympian Grill was not even close. The gyro dinner plate was $12, which included a sliced up pita, some meat, tzatziki sauce, and a side dish. First off, why do restaurants cut the pita up in quarters??? I thought the whole point was to be able to create your own gyro. Also, why no onions or feta to do with it? Most places at least include those items, or even some lettuce. The portion of meat you got for that price was very small; it would have been enough for one gyro sandwich that was a little light on the meat. Very frustrating. The meat was decent, but I suspect it is not made in-house. And finally, the service and ambiance. The interior of the place is nice, with ample tables spaces far enough apart. The lighting was a little dark, but it adds a nice ambiance to the place. Service was good at breakfast but less good at dinner. It was ok through dinner, and then it was time to pay, we waited more than 15 minutes after we had finished eating for our waitress to come drop by the check. By the time, our water glasses were empty and the waitress had not bothered to refill them. It was frustrating, since our food had come out quickly. I would try this place again, but I would definitely not get the gyro again. For now I'm giving it two and a half stars, but it might change upon another trip here. read more

My wife asked a question about what was in the special for the night. Two of the servers didn't know and had to go back into the kitchen and ask. I had the Chicken Corfu, my wife had the Eggplant Parmesan, and the kids had a hamburger and a meatball panini. First up, the sweet tea: it was really good...good sugar to water to tea ratio. I'm told the cola products were fine as well. So here, good so far. The rolls came with a whipped garlic butter, and these were definitely a hit. We also got a plate of hummus which was really smooth, really creamy, but not terribly flavourful. This was served with fried pita which almost made me think I was dipping state fair bread into the hummus. I liked that. My wife said the Eggplant Parm was above average, but didn't like the presentation...the entree was served on top of her spaghetti and when she went to cut it, she ended up cutting through the pasta. Since she's a twirler this didn't work for her. My daughter, who is not really a hamburger eater, did some good eating on her burger and steak fries (though to be fair, she'd not really experienced the steak fry before and was a little bit put off.) My son loved the meatball panini. I thought the Chicken Corfu was quite good. The olives had a really nice flavor, the feta a nice bite, but the chicken was a good bit overcooked. One other problem...all the olives were in a mass in the very middle of the dish. I was several bites into my entree before I actually found them. Portions were generous, but even so, I felt the prices were a bit too expensive (52 dollars for two adults and two kids.) We tried the Stuffer Flounder and New Orleans Shrimp (yes, a rather odd item to find in a Greek/Italian restaurant). Both were good and well cooked, although over-seasoned to our tastes. With a bit less seasoning overpowering them, I think these dishes would be noticeably better. Portion sizes were also a little small for dinner. I'll probably try them again though, and request that they cut back on the salt. read more
