Stopped in at Olympic Club hotel for stamps! Very cool spot! Great ambiance, speakeasy style bars, friendly staff. Will need to come back and stay a while.

Loved the bar

I was at a private party at the oh-so-very atmospheric McMenamins in downtown Centralia last month, and the service alone deserved a gold medal! The drinks kept flowing, the tasty buffet kept being refreshed and just when you thought you were full, the most gorgeous tray of desserts arrived! I have been to at least one other of their places in Salem, but this one took the cake (see what I did there?) for the sheer good nature of their team! Thank you!!

Loved this place! We had great service in the bar area, our happy hour smash burgers were delicious and we enjoyed all of the beers/ciders we tried. Not the biggest fan of the style of fries they have here, but to each their own. The vibe is very unique and there is good entertainment with the pool tables, pinball, and shuffleboard. I recommend dropping in here on your way between Seattle and Portland.

We came here for lunch and to stamp our passports en route back to Seattle and we had enjoyed ourselves a lot. The games (shuffleboard, pool, etc) were a super fun options, and the ambiance with all the historical aspects and plants made it even more special. I'd love to return for a movie and wish we had a place similar in our neighborhood of White Center Seattle. This review is most importantly being written to give a shout out to our bartender/waitress Chelsea. She was spectacular--extremely friendly, welcoming, and took her time to assist us regardless of being busy. With my multiple food sensitivities/allergies, she was willing to make suggestions and adjustments to my meal. She was understanding and made me feel understood. The burger and tots were spectacular! Thanks Chelsea!

The food was phenomenal! We had the calzone, rueben, Captain Neon burger and chicken caesar salad. Everything was delicious and gone!! We shared a yummy dessert too! The service was friendly and quick. It's a great ambiance with lots of interesting things to entertain!

This restaurant has a very cool vibe to it. Sorry I forgot to take pics of the actual restaurant. There is a bar, pool tables and even a connecting theater. So cool! Service was awesome, server was great and very attentive. Food was delicious, has some of the same menu items as the one in Kalama but I guess they are all part of the same group so it makes sense.

Sloppy pizza slices.

Not good. Old, dark and greasy food at tourist prices. Pizza fell apart, oddly shaped with dry toppings and too much cheese. The Caesar was ok but it's grocery store quality at $14. The fish and chips were dry and burned. Server was busy but was willing to not charge me for the fish and chips. (Thank you). This isn't the place you are looking for.

I was looking for the McMenamin's Olympic Theater and the GPS led me here. There was no box office, but just a pub. I kept walking in and out, checking the other store fronts next door to see if maybe I was int he wrong place, but no, this was the place. You just have to walk to the back room, wait for the guy at the register to check you in, and you can order food there that they will serve you in the theater. I got a burger, fries, and a hard cider and it was all pretty good. This place is where the locals hang out and they don't really bother you and they're not helpful or anything, but that's okay- I wouldn't bother to help either if I was a local and people came in to find the cool theater hiding in the back. It's a small place in the front with tables in the back, so it's very intimate. We were here during the daytime so there wasn't a lot of action, but looks like there'd be more energy if you show up on the weekends.

Stopped by for some food and was pleasantly surprised that it has so much more to offer: food AND games! When you walk in you walk past a long bar with many stools into a large seating area that shares the floor with multiple pool tables, shuffle boards, and pinball machines! Staff there were very friendly and food was served quickly. They have plenty of burgers, sandwiches, and drink options. I ordered the El Diablo - chicken sandwich which sadly was missing flavor. After finishing your food/drink you can rent a table to play pool/shuffle board for $5 an hour. If you stop by do not forget to go to the bathroom! Very unique sink :) (at least in the women's).

I'm in town for one night, I'm on a two week roadtrip. We stopped in after a 9 hour drive day. We were hungry! I ordered the dip sandwich with fries. It was good, a little on the salty side, but hit the spot. What surprised us, was that they had plenty of pool tables that you pay $5 an hour. The service was fast, and they checked in on us frequently. I love how the place was decorated. The bathroom had a sink with a thousand faucets. I think they all worked too.

If you haven't been to Oregon or Washington, you haven't been to a McMenamins. If you have spent time in these PNW locales, you have at least heard the name. And if you've actually visited any of their locations, you "know"...you just know. McMenamins is an experience. The locations are quirky, typically historic and a treat to explore...they provide so much eye candy that you probably won't get a chance to absorb all the details in a single visit. And the tots! Yes, the Cajun tots with ranch is worth the visit alone. But get a craft beverage (or two, or three) while there. I tried three hard ciders and they were each unique & delicious. I rounded out my meal with a cheeseburger and I have to say, it was one of the best burgers I've had recently. If you go to a show (I watched Dune: Part Two) there's enough ambient light to eat without fumbling about. Yes, it does affect the screen image quality a bit, so factor that in...it's a compromise that's worth being able to enjoy your dinner and drinks during the show. Insider tip: go during happy hour and this fun, funky and delicious experience will be about what you pay for ticket, drink and popcorn at the generic cinamaplexamacmallits. Only McMenamins is leaps and bounds cooler my friends. Oh yeah, there's a McMenamins passport program which I did not know about until after I had left. You have to buy into it, but the ultimate reward sounds pretty darn amazing! Look it up on their website for the deets!

The brewery is located right off the side of the service road and appears to be in a warehouse-like configuration. There's a food truck on the front that I've heard has some amazing food, although I haven't tried it yet. They do have vegetarian options, so I'll check that out later. The bar dining area is spacious and welcoming for all customers. The bar top has a couple of televisions where you can watch sports if that's your thing. Before you order a beer, I recommend trying a couple of samples, which is what I usually do. The growler I used was about $12-$15, which is a great deal considering that a beer on tap costs about eight dollars for 20 ounces. You can get five of those for the price of $15, so it's a very affordable option. Overall, I really enjoy this place and make it a point to go down there every other month because it's one of my favorite breweries.

Talking Cedar is a solid alternative to the dining at great Wolf Lodge…read more It's just around the corner with ample parking. We got there around 6:30 PM on Thursday evening and the wait was about 20 minutes for families, but we sat at the bar at a high top and got right in. We found service to be friendly and prompt. The gentleman who was taking care of us was attentive without being pushy. We started with the fried pickles which came out with ranch and aïoli for dipping. It was a huge portion. Tasty indeed. While I know pickles are inherently salty, I did find these to be exceptionally salty, leaving me to wonder if the batter was also salted, which definitely would not be necessary. Just know that if you are planning on ordering them. We also both got the Smoked Steak Salad. The salad was fresh and nicely dressed. Both of them came with a very generous serving of meat. The meat was just OK. They do not ask you how you would like your steak cooked, so once I got it, that made sense. I'm guessing they don't just smoke it for a little bit and finish the cooking it another way because it is well done with some rough bits - perhaps leftovers from something else. Honestly, I would prefer to have a nice juicy steak on top of a salad, and while I enjoyed this enough, I probably would not get it again for this reason. We both got a beer flight too, and found all four choices to be really good! I will definitely come back here when I'm tired of options at Great Wolf. I'd be interested in trying their sandwiches, as I saw a couple people with French Dips that looked really good.

We were excited, greeted nicely and were sat down pretty quickly. Then it took a turn. Our waiter took alittle while to get to us. Once he did, he was basically rushing to get our order. 20 mins later came back with our water and my husbands Bourbon Flight. This is me by the way looking at my photo album to track the time. 25 mins later our appetizer came and they were delish. We had ordered Garlic Parmesan Wings and Giant Pretzel. We waited over an hour and our waiter finally comes back to tell us that due to a Big Table outside our food is running behind, we said that's fine. 30 mins later, he comes back and tells us he mistakenly did not put our orders in and he takes full accountability but the fact that he only placed 1/2 of order and realized it an hour and a half later and waited 30 mins passed to tell us was beyond acceptable. We had a 1 year old and a 2.5 year old babies with us, we got there at 5:15pm and left at 8pm with no Main Course, we decided to leave and they offered to give us our main dishes for free and that had to pay for our apps and drinks. At that point, we weren't even hungry anymore- we were more upset than hungry. Word of Advise- don't dismiss a table of 5 for a table of 20. That party of 20 already includes 16%-18% Gratuity on their Tab, whereas a table of 5 could be giving you 20%-25% Gratuity for yourself only & not to have to share with other servers esp. if you are given cash. That table of 5 could sit there for hours just sitting and chatting and won't turn the tables over to new guest, whereas a table of 5 can eat, enjoy their meal, give good tip and leave within an hour and a half. And you'll have new table instantly, more money for you. To the kitchen staff, don't walk past your guests when they're asking you a question and as if they didn't exist. I'd hate to think it's Race Discrimination because we were the only Asians there but that's definitely how it felt.

Looks reasonably nice, for a typical small town bar. Fairly populated around 10:30 PM. My friend says the drinks are good and cheap, and that you can get "black out drunk" for $20. Which is apparently a good thing? I'd already eaten and drank plenty of soda, so I didn't get anything. But the vibe was pleasant enough. Loud music, some loud people, but nothing too off the walls. I was probably only worried because I don't like drinking, or bars. I'd never come back, but that's just because I don't drink. I came here because my friend wanted to show me the place. (We actually wanted to go to "The Hub" but he said it wasn't "popping" enough.) Overall, it's a nice enough bar for people that should be in attendance. While I understand being the only person there to serve and what not, a prompt warning that the only flavor of pie was most definitely over a week old, soggy as could be, and full of undercooked, under mixed raw flour would have been human decency. For a moment, I thought I had somehow took a wrong turn and had driven into rural Ireland. I was curious. I knew I had to check it out on our return drive home later in the day. Unfortunately, the hours posted to Yelp and Google were incorrect; either that, or the proprietors had closed early that Sunday night. Either way, they were gracious enough to let us poke about a bit before leaving, and I have to say, we will likely be making a special trip to revisit this place in the near future. The interior is warm, dimly lit, and filled with the heartwarming aroma of wood smoke from the black iron furnace, and Irish stew simmering in the kitchen. Lots of love and personal touches have been included in the interior decor: vintage artwork, framed and loose pictures, posters and newspaper clippings, antiques, tchotchkies, your standard neon bar signs, and hard wood furniture. It looks and feels lived in: a living history museum of the region, which apparently has more history than one would ascertain from driving through this tiny hamlet. Looking forward to knocking back a few drinks and enjoying a hearty meal here someday soon.

I'll start this review off by saying that I love Cathlamet. It's a quaint little historic town…read morewith a rich history and really nice people. I've been visiting here a dozen times a year for four decades. There are a few eateries here. Many seem to come and go although there are a couple that have survived the test of time. RM38 is a newcomer... used to be in a small building with VERY limited hours. I gather their main biz was brewing craft beer for a very small clientele of businesses and the "saloon" was mostly a side hustle to help pay the rent. So I see they moved into new digs down at the marina. I won't take off any stars for the following since this seems to be their new business model: Offering uber-expensive, skimpy portions of not especially tasty food targeted to yuppies who have more money than brains. Suffice to say that you won't see many Bikers hanging out here. The good: Their patio has a nice river view and a pleasant breeze. Sitting out there enjoying a cold one on a hot Summer day is very pleasant. And during the Fall too so long as it's not raining. People complain about the lack of parking which is not an issue when you show up on a motorcycle. But there are LOTS of places to park although you may have to walk a few yards... you poor darlings. Staff is less than amazing but they are always courteous towards me. I suppose I am no more their dream customer than they are my dream hangout. But Bikers tend to be very generous tippers so they might want to keep that in mind. There's one long-established watering hole in Cathlamet but it's a dark, indoor venue. I like it there and it's more of a dive bar with very good food. The thing about Cathlamet is that if you are just an occasional visitor you have many options of where to stop for a meal and/or drink and never get bored. There's also a few good places at the other end of the ferry ride in Westport, Oregon. Hard to say how long RM38 will stay in business. I'm actually surprised that they lasted in their original location for so long considering that they were only open for a few hours during the weekend. It would be great if they quit pretending to be an upscale eatery and instead focused on providing a good value, tasty, filling meal for the money. Again, no minus stars for that but until new management comes along and makes some changes it will just be a pint or two for me and i'm on my way. Of course as always YMMV.
