The pancakes were amazing! Light as air even with blueberries. Priced right too. The cheddar cheese omelet was ok too.

Man, we were fresh into Columbus on a very hot and sticky day and needed a covered outdoor patio…read morefor us - and Puppy . We saw this spot and decided to hit them up for a din-din and beer on this auspicious late afternoon. We were seated and they quickly brought out a menu - including one for our pup! How cool was that? I ordered their house lager- hubby ordered chicken Caesar salad- I got chicken tenders and waffles for me with fried okra for the table- puppy got a whole chicken breast- nice! Ok the taste - I'm not a huge okra fan. But these fried little morsels were spiced up and hit the spot- hubby loved his salad while I munched down my chicken and waffles like - you know - stat! And the service was great- definitely was awesome. If you want a little taste of the south? Check this place out?

This was my first time to this location of Tupelo Honey. I had been to the original in Asheville,…read moreNC, but even then, it had been quite some time. The atmosphere was modern with a southern twist. I'm not going to lie, I chuckled a bit when I noticed my water glass said "Bless Your Heart". In Appalachian culture, this is actually an insult. We had a large group, but the service was excellent. Very friendly, attentive, and everything was brought out timely and correctly. My food was really good! It was brunch time so I had coffee, the "Mimosa of the Moment" which was an apple cinnamon, a biscuit with blueberry preserves, and the Southern Shakshouka. All were fantastic and I would definitely get again. I also thought the price was affordable for the quantity.

On this our maiden visit to Jessie Mae's, we were pleasantly surprised…read more It's been a long time since we've had chicken prepared in such authentic southern style. Near perfect. Seasoned just right. The Green Cabbage Mix and Dirt Rice sounds like an odd side combo but actually go together well. The Shrimp Po Boy was full of flavour. The service was terrific and the prices were acceptable. The restaurant is a tad small and dirty for my liking, but the food was fabulous. 06/24

First, I always like to start off with the positive: excellent customer service and the chicken…read morewings were cooked very nicely. When I got into the car, I could smell the barbecue sauce on the wings, and it had such a wonderful smell to it I just could not wait to try. I got the sweet barbecue sauce on the wings and they were very delicious. The plane wings really did not have any flavor, but that was okay because I specifically got the plain wings to add my own hot sauce, and the wings had a nice crunch. I'd rather have my chicken under seasoned than over seasoned. Now, the not so positive: All I have to say about my sides--fries, cabbage, and Mac and cheese--I was totally expecting better with all the excellent reviews. The fries were greasy and very limp. When I got home, I ate a few, and I had to pop the rest in the oven to render some of the grease off of them and to crisp them up a little, still, they were not that great. Now, some people may like overcooked cabbage, but they were way overcooked to my liking that I could not even finish them. Same with the macaroni and cheese they were overcooked just a tad bit to my liking, but again, there may be people who like their macaroni real soft. The flavor was okay, but I have had better. If I am in the area again I will definitely get the barbecue wings again because they were very delicious but I will not make a special trip. The sweet potato pie was okay...I gave it a four out of five only because it was a little bit too sweet for me.

I reserved seating for a large family party and was not disappointed in the least!…read more From the ample and available seating to keep us together, to our wonderful and attentive server (Ms. Rochelle), the fantastic menu and drink options, lunch, dinner and individual pricing and those that later assisted in our many to go orders, everything was fantastic and on point!!! The menu consists of numerous protein and vegetable options including vegan. The Mac N Cheese was a baked homey delight, the fried Okra was a well seasonend crispy goodness that tingled the taste buds with every bite, the collard greens cooked with smoked turkey and cornbread were perfection, the fried catfish was a visual delight; seasoned well and crunchy to the touch. My family members cooed over the cabbage, the sweet potatoes (not from a can), the chicken tenders, chicken wings with multiple sauce selections and the fried, flakey cod fish. I highly recommend the Watermelon Lemonade! Desserts were also on the menu without a doubt. A selection of pies, cakes, banana pudding and I must say the cookies and cream cheesecake cup was a chef's kiss at the end of a wonderful meal. This establishment knows homedown Soulfood and took us on a return journey to the kitchens and tables of our grandmother's and big momas. I can't say enough great things about my previous experiences at this establishment nor my most recent. Hats off and kudos to the owner, Nicky Nicole Stevenson; her staff and their knowledge of Soulfood cooking with great restaurant service needed in Cincinnati. I plan to frequent & bring more large parties in the future.

The restaurant was clean, though there were quite a few items near the front that probably shouldn't be visible to customers. The food was good overall! The yams and green beans tasted a bit like canned vegetables, but they were seasoned and "doctor'd up" really well. I'm definitely glad we stopped by and would come back to try more items on the menu!
