Just had a pretty unpleasant call with these guys. They picked up the phone and answered very loudly, "MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OLYMPUS BOARDS SANTA IS COMING!" I wasn't sure if it was an automated message or not, so I didn't say anything. Guy on the other end said "hello?" Then I said "oh sorry I wasn't sure if that was an automated message or not." Then the guy on the phone answers, in the most absurd Apu voice imaginable, "NOPE THIS IS A REAL PERSON! YOU ARE NOT TOCKING TO INDIA!!" Do you clowns not realize that Indian people might also want to do business here? I was looking to buy a brand new snowboard, boots, and bindings, but whatever buffoon answered the phone just lost hundreds of dollars worth of business. This is my second time visiting the Olympus Board Shop. We needed to get new boots for a new snowboard set up as we were leaving for Mammoth the next day. I texted about 30 min before closing for a post closing appointment. Not only did they accommodate our last minute appointment, but they were also super understanding of our traffic situation coming from West LA. They helped us with our snowboarding boots selection and gave us a generous added-on service to set up the bindings on the board along with the new boots. They were all knowledgeable and it was overall a really positive experience coming here. Jeremy and his crew at Olympus are great. I knew of Olympus because I've taken my snowboard there for tuneups. I needed the SUPs, out of season, as a bday present for the girlfriend. Jeremy spent a lot of time with my girlfriend and I discussing SUPs, pros and cons, and he is extremely knowledgable. All this happened while he was in the middle of a holiday ski weekend and the shop was crazy busy with snowboarders. I went in looking for a new pair of boots and when they didn't have the pair in my size, they ordered it on rush, called the provider and kept me updated daily so I could get it them for my trip. My brother and I had been looking to buy used SUP's that were still in great condition but also wouldn't break the bank. Luckily, a friend of mine suggested we try going to Olympus and their service, quality and prices went above and beyond what we were looking for. My brother and I walked in about 15 minutes before they were closing (oops!) and they didn't rush us in the slightest! We must have been there for a good hour and a half and not once did they mention that they had technically already closed! They helped us choose the best boards for us, (they're literally incredible on the water) and got us set up with paddles and a soft rack! Not only did they help us get it loaded on to the top of my car, but they told us if we paid in cash, we wouldn't have to pay tax! PLEASE do yourself a favor and go to this all around incredible board shop before you go anywhere else! Ask for Brian to help you and he will go above and beyond with his knowledge and kindness. Help support our local board shop! Hadn't gone snowboarding in 3-4 yrs. Wasn't sure what type of shape my board was in and I didn't know how much work I needed to have done on it. When I took it in, luckily the guy checking out my board said I only needed a wax. Everything else looked good! They didn't try to upsell me or trick me into getting stuff I didn't need done cuz I still am not an expert with that stuff. Just wish they would have called me to let me know the board was done. seriously the best place to rent boards from. My friends have always rented from here for at least 3 seasons and you seriously can't beat the price and service. I have my own board so i don't have to rent but i do come in with my friends and check out their gear and they have some cool stuff. the shop is tiny so if there's a bunch of you guys going, i'd recommend calling and maybe just telling them your shoe size and height so they can have your stuff ready while you fill out paperwork when you go in. For board, boots and binding, rentals are $25 and if you need pants, they also have snowpants available for you to rent too ($15 or $25?) Pay in cash! they don't charge you tax if you pay in cash. Also if you're planning to rent before a holiday or when there's a lot of fresh snow in the mountain, i'd recommend calling about a week ahead and putting your stuff on hold. if you've rented from them before, they have your info on file so you don't need to go in and try them on again. Trust me, rent from olympus! don't go to mt high and rent from there. it's more expensive and no guarantee that you'll get a rental and you need a $400 credit deposit. read more

I was waiting to post a review until I had actually used my new board and bindings on snow (and not just on top of a towel in my living room.) i bought a board and bindings the day after thanksgiving, and they all worked out EXACTLY how they were described to me. I am kicking myself for not remember the name of the guy who helped me (will edit to add when I remember! Should've written it down), but he was so incredibly patient and helpful. I was replacing a nearly 25 year old set up, and he was able to explain the ways the technology had changed since then and the differences I'd feel with a new board. Every single thing he said (about it being more board, about the feel, etc.) was true. Didn't feel any pressure to buy -- was given plenty of options. It was a good experience overall, and I look forward to taking my business here in the future. I drove all the way from Glendale because of the reviews and was not disappointed. Only thing to note re covid: staff did not wear masks. I didn't ask them to put them on when I came in, so I can't judge whether or not they would've if I'd asked (my guess is probably? They were really nice dudes.) However, the back and front doors were open, and they gave me physical space. read more

The P-tex repair I got done here failed after 2 days of powder riding? wtf? did they not wax it after? let it cool down maybe? or they just blow at it. I got a full service repair done for $59 and a free beer in Steamboat colorado to fix the shabby workmanship done at this shop. You would think it would be more expensive in a ski town like steamboat but no.
