I had my appointment with Melissa and she was very friendly and listened to exactly what I was looking to do with my hair. She also gave me some coupons to use for next time and share with a friend. A simple solution would have been to just have me come back in for a quick fix. Instead, after all of that, I was offered "a couple of highlights," which felt like too little, too late considering everything I'd already gone through. For $300 and a $60 tip, it really should have been better.

I naturally have really dark hair so this was a lot of work to do in one day. Jake was amazing!!! From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. There was 3 things that I really liked, no LOVE about Vanessa's hair salon. 1. They are VERY CLEAR about wearing a mask which is such a big thing to me bc I have close family members I live with that have compromised immune systems so it was really nice to know that vanessa and jake made sure to take their customers safety into consideration. Everything was clean and spacious. 2. Jake knew how to take my dark hair (which was a mix of dark brown, black, reddish-orange hair that i attempted to bleach and dye myself) and lighten it using bleach without destroying my hair. My hair feels soft, strong, and healthy!! Plus it looks absolutely fabulous!!! I spent almost an entire day getting my hair done. Throughout the whole process, Jake and Vanessa made sure to check in with how I was doing. I had to bleach my whole head in order for the purple color to show up and Jake was able to lift and lighten my hair as much as possible without damaging my hair. This means so much to me bc a year and a half ago I let a different hair salon bleach my hair and it all fell out because it was bleached improperly. Jake knows the CORRECT way to bleach and dye someone's hair!!! 3. The third thing I really liked was that I immediately felt at ease and comfortable from the minute I walked in. I felt like I was hanging out with my best friends the entire time I was there. I dont plan on going to any other salon again. In fact, I cant wait to bring my mom and sister in so they can experience the amazing magical work of these hair magicians!! Plus they even do waxing. I got my eyebrows done and they look amazing!!! While the manicurist, Geissi (I'm not sure if that's her exact name), was attending to me, she tried to take photos of my nails without my permission, claiming that this was allowed in the United States as long as my face wasn't in the shot. She assumed I was unfamiliar with local laws regarding the right to privacy and the protection of one's image. I refused to let her do it, and I was even told that I was the only customer who had ever refused until then. When it came time to pay, the salon owner, Joice, charged me $82.00, claiming the menu I had been given was outdated. I had actually intended to leave a generous tip, but I decided against it due to their lack of honesty and professionalism. I considered calling the police to enforce the price listed on the menu, but I ultimately decided to just pay and leave. I paid $40.00 in cash and $42.00 on my card (I have a photo of the receipt). I am posting this review on Google to warn others about the salon's dishonest and illegal practices and to discourage them from visiting--especially since the salon is located in an unsafe area. I felt extorted, and I will not return to a place that lacks such basic honesty and professionalism. Another important detail: the owner, Ms. Joice, is a liar. She claimed the service menu was outdated and that the website already listed the manicure and pedicure price as $80.00. I checked the website and discovered yet another lie; this makes me believe that the quality of the salon's services and products lacks any credibility, as the owner sets a terrible example for her staff.

I always knew she was destined for greatness because the first time I met her I was driving by going to work and saw her chair was empty so u went in and asked if she could catch my hair. What is meant by this is my hair was really short. So she said politely please have a a seat and before I know it she give me a beautiful braid!! I was excited and she had done !! Also she had been doing my hair for like 5 years at that point! Then I moved out of state for a bit and bounced from salon to salon, not a good feeling not knowing if your hair will turn out the way you desire. I am sure you know what I mean! I heard she had opened her own place and I had to get there!! This place is amazing and looks awesome in every way possible!! It is always clean and air is fresh inside at all times lol! You must get your hair washed there because it is amazingly done!! I say this because I always get put to sleep from the massage they do to your head!! Did I mention the place is always clean? You never know how Blessed you are until you get your hair done by a different person!! You will always worry on how it will turn out, but not here!! Also the barber side is situated perfectly and spacious cutting stations with high quality barbers! I go to Roger because he also has done my lineup since 2005! When you have trust, a good salon is a must!! See you there! Remember set your appointments at least a week in advance they will get busy fast!!

Naturally curly, I'm using minimal to no product and it's sitting really well. No dog ear, great shape. I only asked for a trim and layer touch up, nothing to specific, just "whatever will look good". I don't usually pay that much for a hair cut, but thought if I did then maybe it would be worth it.
