Hopefully, my 4 star will not drop Omar's average down. This place was at a 5 star avg. at over 50 reviews. That's impressive, and the reason why I wanted to try them. So we placed the order for "the Works" online. Very convenient! When we arrived 20 min. later, it was ready and Omar, the owner cannot be any cooler. He introduced himself and we had a brief chat before we hurried back home to devour his pizza. It's always nice when the owner chats with his/her customers, exchange names & shake hands. This is something so many businesses fail to do, yet it's so easy and costs them nothing! They need to learn from people like Omar. The pizza itself was truly good. The crust was thin, crispy and slight salty by itself. It held all of the generous toppings without getting soggy. That's also because the pepperoni and sausage didn't form a pool of orange colored grease on top like all those chain pizza places: Pizza Hut, Domino's....etc. I prefer not to have so much cheese on my pizza that it pulls like an extension cord, and Omar's pizza had just enough cheese for me to taste it w/o having to pick extra off. Don't expect any decor. The tables and chairs look dated, the place looks bare, but somehow, I feel better that he only knows how to make pizza and not spend time on other things. Seriously, we're there to eat, right? So we will definitely go back and perhaps enjoy it there once it comes fresh out of the oven. Why not 5 stars? Shout out to the team here staying open during the heatwave. Solid no frills ny style pizza for football night. The wings are more quantity than quality tho. Everything was really tasty. I'd go back for everything. My kid wanted pasta, and we were staying at a local hotel. I always order puttanesca and Omar's special from them. They abide by COVID19 regulations well, including staff wearing gloves and masks, and well ventilated front area. I feel safe going there and picking up my pizza or sometimes the wings. Their pizza is always fresh with lots of ingredients and it almost always is less expensive than pizza chain pizzas. Good on flavor & freshness not so good on customer aeevi! Not so good: WE LOVE MUSHROOMS The online menu listed one of our pizzas of choice with mushrooms but it wasn't delivered with them on it (The Works). When I called in I was told that the menu online is "old" from 2012 and that particular pizza no longer has mushrooms. A slice of the Artichoke Pizza had what looks like a small piece of a stick in it. See attached picture. I've seen their sign a million times when I eat around this area but I have never given it a try since I'm not usually a fan of pizza. I was attending a bbq this weekend and decided to get pizza since it was close by. I ordered the Omar's special and the white margherita pizza. Both were DELICIOUS! Well, possibly the worst turkey sandwich I've ever had. I'm at home cleaning, doing laundry, looking like a mess, didn't want to go out, not even drive thru, so I went to Doordash, the pizza looked good, but I just wanted a sandwich. I shoulda had pizza, even bad pizza is ok! The turkey was a gritty looking, greasy (because they warmed it) over processed, paltry 2 slices of turkey, with some tomatoes, and romaine, oh and cheese. Apparently they warmed the sandwich with the mayo alreadyon it. Not pleasant. Yes, my fault for not asking for it not toasted and heated, but if you're using the lowest quality Turkey, maybe don't warm it, it does nothing to help the look of it! Its definitely not the same recipe as when Omar's first opened in Arcadia, especially before a new business partner came into the picture. Omar's original recipe, especially the dough, was excellent, and as close as to New York pizza you can get here in this area. We decided to give it a try again since there are a lot of good reviews. We ordered Omar's Special and Puttanesca. We used to get these all the time. The crust was hard and chewy and the overall pizza lacked authenticity and flavor. Almost $65 for two large pizzas with delivery and tip. If it was worth it, I'll pay that again any day. Never again. Omar, please open your own place with the original recipe again! Parking is limited in the plaza, but there's several 30 minute ones, which is more than enough for this place. Since this is not a full service restaurant, most orders here are likely coming for takeout. The owner was very friendly and even helped me open the door. This place is famous for their pizza, so I ordered one called The Puttanesca which has artichokes, mushrooms, and olives. The artichoke was overcooked and there was a lack of cheese, but the pizza dough was excellent. It was done just right. I also tried their Buffalo Wings, They were pretty good. The price was pretty affordable for what you get. There isn't a lot of Pizza Places in the area, so if you're in the mood for it, then this place is definitely worth a try. Omar's is located in a strip mall but if you want a down-home, authentic tasting NY slice then Omar is your guy. Omar goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your pizza. To the point that he even gave our entire group of 6 free Jarritos sodas. So nice. He'll sit with you and talk about how when he first started, he couldn't give pies away for free. Opening a pizzeria in Arcadia (home to my fellow asians) was understandably a tough sell! But 200+ reviews later and strutting a 4.5 star rating, I'm grabbing the conch shell and calling my people to check Omar out! The restaurant is kind of like an homage to old school pizzerias back when pizzerias were all about the pie. They only make pies in one size - 18" and they are massive! Plus, its only $16. Incredible price for the amount of pizza you get. Omar will let you go half/half on flavors too. Some of my favorites were the Omar's Special and Puttanesca. Omar's Special - copious amounts of meat, a meat lover's dream. Puttanesca - fresh ingredients especially the artichoke and mushrooms. I normally don't like a veggie based pizza but this was incredibly fresh, savory, and tasty. BBQ Chicken - I know this isn't a traditional choice but man was it good. Fresh cilantro with saucy and delicious chicken. The key here is the dough, it is crispy and makes a thin crust that is delicious. All the ingredients were tremendously fresh. Nothing artificial and I wasn't bogged down with grease like I sometimes find at other "authentic" NY pizzerias. I used to LOVE Omar's pizza, the first time I tried it it was a pepperoni pizza by the slice. It was thin, crispy, and amazing. Their garlic knots are amazing as well, but it sucks that you have to heat it up on your own at home, since it comes cold. Ordered whole 18" pizzas twice. I would recommend asking them to cut the pizza into smaller slices (16 slices) instead of the normal 8 slices. First time we ordered "Omar's special", which tasted OK. The meatball killed the pizza, it was way too heavy and too salty. Second time we got half "Omar's special" with no meatball (just pepperoni, mushroom, and garlic), and half BBQ chicken. I did not try the BBQ chicken, but my bf's little sisters said it was good, but they're little kids... It did smell good to me, but I rather die than eat cilantro. The pizza was soggy, oily, and super salty. As much as I love garlic, I would not recommend it on their pizza, it makes it taste sour, but also maybe because the sauce is super sour that it made me cringe. Sometimes their pizza is burnt and it is almost impossible to cut through, I broke my fork trying to keep the toppings and dough in place while cutting the pizza. Overall, I would not recommend getting their whole pizza, instead try their pizza by the slice first before investing your appetite into their whole pizzas. BUT I have to warn you, there are many tiny flies inside the glass where they store all the pizza by the slice, very gross and unsanitary. I often feel sick the day after I eat their pizza due to the heavy greasiness. I feel obese and that I'm going to die with major heartburn and a stomach ache. read more

The 4 stars is for the pasta. I think it was very good and pretty tasty even for take-out. I really enjoyed it. It only had two meatballs but they were huge. The pasta portion was on the small side but being that tasty it was worth it. The pizza was a bit of a disappointment. I would probably give it a 3. It wasn't anything that I thought it would be. Not crispy and the hawaiian wasn't as tasty as some others I've tried. I'm comparing this place to Tomato Pie in LA and Secret Pizza in Vegas and the pizza just doesn't compare. We also got some garlic knots on the side. I was not impressed... The wait for my slice was much longer than the whole pizza my friend's ordered. In turn, Omar's gave me a free slice of White pizza. I found all pizzas to be a little hard and a little bland. I was very grateful that they gave me a free slice though. That's good customer service! It's along the same strip as ShareTea so it can be hard to spot because there's not really a designated parking lot for it! It's pretty small and warm on the inside, but the workers were really friendly. My friend went in to get the 2 pizza slices and a drink deal for $7. It was unfortunate that the only slices they sell are the ones being displayed in the case. I ended up getting one veggie pizza slice and one with jalapeños and pepperoni. The slices are huge and very filling! There's a lot of cheese, but it's also pretty oily. I LOVE the crust though, it's so crunchy and thin. Really awesome pizza place! I'm usually a pizza hut gal but I had this place bookmarked for awhile so we finally made time to stop by. They sell by the slice and also by the pie. Depending on the time of day you stop by, some specialty pizza choices by the slice may be missing. We tried: - garlic knots ($1.50 for 8): YUM-O! And what a deal! - buffalo wings ($6 for 10 pieces): we tried the mild and I really liked it. 60 cents a wing is a pretty good deal. The strange thing is the more you order, the more expensive it gets ($10 for 15 pieces = 66 cents a wing) so they should reconsider changing their wing pricing structure..just so it makes more sense. - Farmer's Market slice ($2.50/slice): So fresh and they are not skimpy with their toppings. I also love the crust. Minimalist place - couple of tables & chairs. Not much for decor. For the money, you can get a pretty good lunch. I ordered the knots ($1.50) and the lunch special (can of soda and 2 slices for $6). The place reminds me of a Sbarro in the sense that they have the pizzas out and reheat them when they serve it. The pizza tasted ok. The slice of Putanesca was underwhelming though considering its toppings, but the Omar special was really good. Had like gyro meat on it. The knots were almost better than the pizza and came with marinara. My biggest qualm was the amount of toppings and cleanliness of the ovens. My review for this place has been long over due. I was so glad it got featured on yelp, they definitely deserve the recognition especially for their awesome finger lickin' wings. Some people might wonder how awesome, and trust me it's not just awesome it's A-W-E-S-O-M-E! It's so awesome I buy some for dinner with the family and well before it reaches the dining room table a good couple are missing. Yes, that's right, you read correctly. I eat them while I'm driving, and yes I do know that there has been a new law implemented this year I believe that makes driving and eating ILLEGAL. But it's just THAT good. It's that good I'm willing to risk getting a ticket because I can't wait to get back home to stuff my face with their buffalo wings. And for $5.95 for 10 pieces, it just makes these wings all the more awesome. I know what every one else is thinking, it's a pizza joint and all I've been raving about it well their wings. But hey I'm lactose and to me who's a meat eater wings is just much more worth the calories. Considering the location I can understand they aren't open too late, but a place like this, opened until 1am in Orange County would be AMAZING. First of all its the "by the slice" kind of place (you know, like szbarro) And then they reheat your pizza. NY Style means thin and crispy crusts. They got that in spades. A bit run down, a bit dirty, and a guy with a backwards hat cooking our pizza, it had almost everything. I can see how this could be a quick pick up place for most people in the area. The downfall? #1 NO A/C. Damn , it was 96 outside, probably 94 inside. Ya need to change that! #2 No free ice water. They have bottled cold water and soda drinks, but that will lead me up to #3 NO STRAWS for the dirty ass cans that are in the fridge. Folks, always wipe/wash cans before you drink out of them. These things stay in palettes for months in warehouses infested with rats, roaches, and dirt. So always clean. ALL in all, this would be a 4-5 star if they took care of their issues. The owner is super friendly and enthusiastic about his new business venture. It just makes you want to root for his success and tell your friends about the place. While New York style pizza has never really been on the top of my faves, it's nice to hear that his recipe is an authentic recipe from his mother who worked in a Brooklyn pizzeria back in the day. They make their own dough, always a plus. They have pizza's by the slice available, or you can order an 18" pie that will be fresh made as you wait. There is a good selection of pizza varieties to order from the typical cheese or sausage pizza to a more unique styles. Great little local place. read more

Heard so much awesomeness about this place from co-workers and friends. All I can say is nasty! I'm a pretty simple girl, pepperoni and cheese is all I need. But this pepperoni pizza "New York" style was plain nasty and greasy as all get out!! There was sooooo much grease, that if you lifted a ginormous piece of pizza out of the box, the grease pretty much degraded the thin crust until there was no crust no more. I had two pieces, and then just chose to eat the cheese and pepperoni off the non-existent crust. I was staaaaarving so I ate three pieces but felt severely disappointed afterwards.
