I've been coming here for many years. Before today, my previous visit was about 2 months ago. I was surprised to learn today that the business has new ownership. After today's visit, I'm a bit relieved since the pizza seems very familiar. The quality appears to be very similar so I'm convinced that they took the time or are taking the time to make sure that the ownership transition goes well. Everything inside still looks the same. The old pictures that we all love are still up on the walls.

Trying a new pizza spot for us! This spot has been here for 45 years

I've passed by this pizza spot for over 2 years and not once did I dawn to check it out until my son said "pizza" and pointed and I said "sure, why not!" It didn't disappoint! Pizza by the slice was a big plus for my son and I. We had a good selection to choose from. There small salads are a great size. The reheat of the slices is quick and perfect temp, super tasty! Next time I visit I'm going to try a sandwich. Service was amazing, super welcoming and friendly. Even after we sat they asked if we wanted water, cheese or anything else, which made me feel welcome and the whole staff was really patient with my son who can be wild, so I definitely appreciate that! I did see a lot of to go orders within the 20 minutes I was there which tells me my son picked a great spot! Also we were in luck to be heading out while a massive group of teens from San Marino High were coming in looking hungry. Overall I will come back, maybe make it a monthly lunch date with my son, since he loves pizza and has no issues to Tony's right before we go to speech!

Came here as was in area and wanted to give this spot a go given I've driven by so many times. Per reviews a local spot with lots of locals who rave about NY style pizza. ( you had me at Ny style and I am in). Place was as expected an old mom and pop style pizzeria with friendly staff. Ordered a couple of slices and a ceggie pie with a variety of veggies. Also ordered the garlic knots. Pizza came out hot and was pretty much an NY style pizza. Would say it was pretty good but would have liked a but more sauce. Knots were great and a rather large offering. Overall, good local spot if you're in the area. One gripe - would love to have a beer to go with my pie, but can understand that its a spot that mostly pick up as to why they wouldnt.

i've been eating Tony's Pizza for more than 30 years. The new owners have tweaked the recipe too bad
    Romeo S.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The new owners have tweaked the recipe for the cheese pizza. So, sad.

I've been coming to Tony's Pizza for as long as I can remember. Growing up, nothing beat the student special with a slushie--those are core childhood memories for me. I always thought the same Sicilian family would run Tony's forever, passing it down through the generations. So when I found out there were new owners, I'll admit I was nervous. But to my relief, it's still Tony's pizza! The taste, the atmosphere, the comfort--it all brought me back. That being said, I have to mention one small (but big to me) detail: the onions. My go-to has always been sausage and onion, and Tony's was special because of how they cut them--thin, long, stringy slices that caramelized perfectly in the oven. The new cut is different--chopped longer, thinner pieces--which just doesn't hit the same. It might sound silly, but for me, that little detail made their pizza stand out from anywhere else. One friendly suggestion for the new owners: please don't swap out the original ingredients for other brands. The magic of Tony's is in the flavor that's been consistent for decades. Don't change that! All in all, I'm so glad Tony's is still here and still delicious. Change is part of life, but the heart of Tony's pizza lives on.

It's so funny that I would always see Tony's on my way back home from another pizza spot. This place is so unassuming and I love how the inside is like an ordinary mom and pop shop that you'd see in the east coast! I honestly miss places like this so much and the workers are the sweetest! Okay...pizza here is legit! I'll be back. Each slice is between $3-5 depending on whether they're fancy. I got the Dante which has a kick with the jalapeños, onions+goat, and a classic cheese. I was a big fan of the Dante and really like the onions one, but not a fan of goat! Pizza has a nice texture to it, which is what I'm always looking for and they don't skip out on ingredients! Heating up take out for slices are quick for those on the go! And parking is plenty in the back~

You can order half and half also

Ordered take out today. Bring me back to my years in high school. Tony's pizza always makes quality pizza. Their pasta and sandwiches are also exceptional. Their staff are super friendly and always provide the best service. Whether you eat in the restaurant or have it as take out, you enjoy the family-oriented pizza that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Service is very friendly and the pizzas are tasty. I love that they have a nice spacious private lot where you can park, so it's convenient to run in and out for picking up your food. Inside seating is spacious; and bathroom is available for guests.

Recently, my son and I have been making pizzas on Friday nights as a bonding experience while my wife is out with friends. We make some, buy one, and compare. My son usually prefers his homemade, but Petrillo's is the exception! He loved the cheesy cheese pizza and the amazing cheese pull. I ordered half cheese and half their specialty pizza, which includes mozzarella, Romano cheese, house tomato sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, onions, and green bell peppers. Their small pizza is 12 inches and has 8 slices, which is much larger than other places. Petrillo's Specialty Pizza is stacked with generous toppings and has a doughy but crispy bottom - the best of both worlds. I enjoyed the Specialty pizza, especially the Italian sausage. While I'm not a mushroom fan, I ate them anyway. I'll likely hold off on mushrooms next time. They provide generous amounts of complimentary crushed red pepper packets, paper plates, and napkins. Parmesan cheese packets cost extra, about $0.50 each, if I remember correctly. The staff were friendly and are local residents, which is always great to see in a mom-and-pop business. You can eat in or order from the take-out counter on the right side. It's best to order ahead to avoid a 20-25 minute wait. My only minor complaint was the pizza was a bit sloppy when I took a picture, but I understand they're busy getting orders out. I will definitely be back to Petrillo's for pizza!

I explained again that I just really needed to leave because I was gonna be late, she called her manager out, and he just walked out yelling at me without even understanding what was happening, they were super rude, ultimately he told her to give me my money back and she started counting and had no idea how much money to give me back so she closed the register and without saying anything to me she left again made me wait another five minutes for her to come back while he taught her how to make basic change and so I yelled back at them to just give me my money so I could leave ,the cashier called me an ugly ass bitch and she stole my money, so much for good customer service yeah this is the worst place ever don't go here. They're just gonna rip you off and I treat you like crap mind you she already had my food in her hand, but she wouldn't give it to me.. they shorted me 20 bucks My husband had to go in there to tell them to not disrespect me, and the little cashier yelled more profanities. I've had a lot of pizza from New York City, to Italy, to many destinations in between and this crust is up there as some of the best especially to be based in California. That being said, I've had better pizza. The sauce really left something to be desired. It was underwhelming and a bit bland. The wow factor was definitely missing and sauce tends to really make or break a good slice of pizza. Same goes for the cheese used...It just lacked that yummy cheesy goodness you usually anticipate when you bite into a slice and it didn't help that they were a little skimpy with how much cheese they put on their pizza. I think this place would be phenomenal if they took the time to nail the sauce down and really invested in good quality cheese. They're so close just missing the mark on the flavor. The crust absolutely saves them from being bad but it still made it just an "okay" slice of pizza. The staff at the order window were friendly and helpful. The environment could use a little cleaning but overall it seems like it reflected the hipster/ quick eats vibe they're going for and it works for their business. Try this spot out and judge for yourself.

The restaurant sells itself as an East meets West, New York Style, California Vibes establishment, and it achieves this effectively. I came by with my daughter on a Saturday afternoon. I especially liked the pizza boxes available to take extras to go, as well as other conveniences easy to grab. After resisting the many delicious looking beer options, I ordered a personal Manhattan Meat lovers pizza ($14), a crisp, well constructed small pizza with excellent crust, no flop, and multiple meaty toppings. My daughter had the Shrimp Scampi with Linguine ($18), which included a trio of garlic knots. The pasta was cooked perfectly el dente, was exceptionally lemony and garlicky which I can appreciate, and included six large shrimp. While the sauce could have been a little thicker I thought this was quite good for a pizza and beer place. Everything was made fresh. The staff was friendly, made good recommendations, helped us get a to go bag, delivered food as it completed with a smile, and overall seemed quite happy to be there.
