The owner is super friendly and enthusiastic about his new business venture. It just makes you want to root for his success and tell your friends about the place. While New York style pizza has never really been on the top of my faves, it's nice to hear that his recipe is an authentic recipe from his mother who worked in a Brooklyn pizzeria back in the day. They make their own dough, always a plus. They have pizza's by the slice available, or you can order an 18" pie that will be fresh made as you wait. There is a good selection of pizza varieties to order from the typical cheese or sausage pizza to a more unique styles. Great little local place. read more

Got a chicken calzone and an omar's special pizza (which was pepperoni, mushrooms, and sausage). Also got boneless buffalo wings. Heard so much awesomeness about this place from co-workers and friends. All I can say is nasty! I'm a pretty simple girl, pepperoni and cheese is all I need. But this pepperoni pizza "New York" style was plain nasty and greasy as all get out!! There was sooooo much grease, that if you lifted a ginormous piece of pizza out of the box, the grease pretty much degraded the thin crust until there was no crust no more. I had two pieces, and then just chose to eat the cheese and pepperoni off the non-existent crust. I was staaaaarving so I ate three pieces but felt severely disappointed afterwards. The pizzas are made with thin crust, like true NY style. The pizza is meant to be folded into a sandwich making it perfect for consumption on the go. Not good to be eaten in the car but suited to consumption while riding the subway. No forks or knives necessary. I tried the Omar special. Flavorful and hearty, each bite yielded a mountain of meat and a strong hit of garlic. Omar is quite generous with toppings. Having eaten at Lombardi's, which is the OG pizzeria in New York's little Italy, I can say that the flavor and quality is on par with what the big apple as to offer. Gosh both pizzas were good but if you like the taste of classic good old pizza, you should order Omar's special. If you want to be more adventurous then try Puttanesca because the sauce did taste different and it wasn't your typical pizza. For some reason it tasted a bit like bbq sauce to me but regardless both slices were really good! +They have daily special of 2 slices and a drink for $6. Great price! -Downside is that they don't have menus at Omar's. When I asked for one, the employee said the menu is on their website. Their pizzas are on display after all but they also have pastas and you wouldn't know that they have that or the daily special without looking at the menu.. -Because we didn't know about the daily special, we ordered two slices and was charged $6. The next couple after us ordered 2 slices and a drink and was also charged $6. That's when we went to their website later and found out about their daily special. I went and they had as few pizzas in the case(I was eating lunch late at 4pm), I got two slices of pizza(the BBQ chicken and white pizza). I wasn't expecting the pizza to be as good as it was. The ingredients were top notch(for pizza). Very good for very cheap. They warmed it up in the oven so the pizza crisped up. I got a bottle of Perrier and the 2slices for I believe $5.00. I am always trying to find good restaurants including pizza places and came across Omar's. Read quite a few reviews, looked at the pictures, and menu and it all seemed relatively positive. Maybe I just got a bad day but although the pizza delivery was pretty quick, the pizza was underdone (super flimsy to the point where you couldn't even hold it) and the toppings were not spread out well at all. The pizza I got came with sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions and there was no slice that had all the toppings. Instead there would be a slice that had no onions but then another slice was almost all onion and nothing else. Sort of defeats the purpose of ordering a pizza with various toppings. I ordered a bigger size and was thinking I would have leftovers the next day. Couldn't do it. Unfortunately, will probably not be returning. read more

Probably the worst I've ever had. The crust was very thin. Like bread. There was a TON of pepperoni and ricotta, and barely any mozzarella, and the whole thing was soggy. Inedible. We threw it away. Skip this. Baked Ziti: ok. The pasta is over cooked BUT it is soooo good! The sauce is great. They bake it with tons of ricotta and mozzarella and lots of sauce (I hate when it's dry!) and that makes the over cooked pasta irrelevant. I've come here a few times and my favorite is the greek pizza.... It was delicious.i loved the thin crust and folding the slices in half. Lots of flavor! The owner has been there a couple times when I've come to pick up my pizza and he is always very friendly and wants to make sure you're happy with your order. I like that they make their own dough and when they're out they close!! It's only happened to me once when I've come by and they ran out, but I like that it's made from scratch. Pizza is always good, but Omar's Pizzeria has got to be one of the best NY Style pizzas in SGV!!! I was hooked when I walked in and saw all the different slices available. I decided to order the Whitestone Pizza which has ricotta, mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and fresh garlic. I also added peperoni to it. They made the pizza right away and it was done in 10 minutes. It smelled and looked amazing... and tasted even better!!!! The slices are huge but you can't just have one! Yes, it's that good. Upon entering one notices the simplicity of the location, however the food is all but simple. Once our order arrived and and we started eating my friends thought they died and went to heaven because the food was that good. Let's just say they saw the light. My favorite so far is the Omar's special (I think that's the name) which has meat balls, roasted garlic and some other stuff that is excellent together. I just tried the chicken BBQ and the sweet and spicy and liked them both. The only reason I gave this place a 4/5 is because they only have one size pizza and slices. I don't need more than 2 slices most of the time but would like my pizzas made when I order them. Nevertheless, the slices are still really good. The garlic knots are very tasty as well. I really wanted to support a local business during the time of COVID and I love thin crust New York pizza so I went to Omar's. I ordered "The Works" from them. I had high expectations. At the initial look, the pizza seemed perfect. Lots of cheese and toppings, but when it was time to eat the whole cheese section of the pizza slid off. I don't know if it's the mozzarella (high moisture vs low moisture) or just too much of it, but it made it difficult to eat. Sometimes too much of a good thing is just too much. Make no mistake, this is New York pizza. With each slice you get just enough of their zingy tomato sauce, a healthy amount of fresh toppings, all on a dough perfectly seasoned that you'll be smacking your lips at the last bite of crust (even those who habitually stop at the crust will love it.) Best of all, it's definitely affordable. Like any pizza joint worth its salt in New York, Omar's sells pizza by the slice or by the whole pie. What makes it better than New York (gasp!) is that those slices come in a bigger variety than the standard pepperoni or cheese. The selection is amazing, although be forewarned that available pizzas can differ since they are all made fresh. So if you are craving a certain pizza, you might have to order it specially. The slices are always warmed up in the oven so that when it gets to you, the cheese is perfectly ooey-gooey and the crust is perfectly crunchy. Don't quote me on this, but it looks like the pizzas they take the slices from are always just the right amount of underdone so that when it's warmed up, the pizza actually seems to finish cooking to the perfect state instead of it just being "reheated." The staff is very nice and there are a few tables inside and some outside so there is always a place to sit. And it's pretty quiet inside, so it's a nice no-frills place to hang out and chat with friends or co-workers. This place deserves every star it gets. OMG...we ordered two pies and an order of 25 piece buffalo wings. Let me start off with the chicken wings. I can't believe they would even sell you chicken wings that are the size of your pinky. It was so damn small and no meat on it. Were these wings from Cornish hens cause they don't look like regular size chicken wings. As for the pizza, it got delivered to us cold. This place is a hole in the wall pizza restaurant, but their pizza is pretty good. I've had their food via takeout, and I was seriously impressed. So I later decided to go eat there, and the food was still really good. Be advised, even if you go during lunch time and order by the slice, it still takes a while to get your food. Don't expect to be in and out of there quickly. The seating area isn't that big, so if you're there during a busy time, you may not have much luck finding a seat. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't have a restroom, which doesn't help make a good dining experience. If you like good pizza at a local pizza place, this is a good spot. read more
