So, we were returning to the far north from San Francisco where I'd just spent the night at the UCSF children's hospital with my youngest (and hospital food, well.....enough said). Eldest son, our stalwart driver, asked if I'd had breakfast. And indeed I had not. So..keying in a few words on his ever present techie device he brought us to this place. Oh, yum. I ordered a cheese omelet for the youngest, who had had to fast for a whole day and who appreciates food. Eldest ordered two eggs over easy and some...let me think, sausages? (he has fallen away from our cheesie/eggie vegetarian diet), and coffee. Partner wanted a little person's plate--a small omelet with potatoes. And hot chocolate. I made the odd request of a glass of hot water (graciously delivered) and a fresh fruit omelet. Apparently that is not a favorite on the menu; the server wanted to make certain I understood what I was getting into (I did). It was delicious, filled with grapes and melon and pineapple,a bit of sour cream, and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Portions were HUGE; we could have split an omelet (except no one else would have ventured through my delicious pile of fruit). The husband and I spent a weekend get away in Sonoma this past weekend. We were lucky to get a room at the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country. They are dog friendly. Sunday morning, we waned to have a descent breakfast before we get on the road. Through some searching, we came here based on the fact they have an outdoor seating area that allows dogs and the got descent Yelp reviews. Had to wait a bout 20 mins cuz there were only 3 tables. Not too bad. But it went down hill from there. We sat down and we were forgotten. No coffee no water no acknowledgment. After 10 mins I finally asked hubby to go inside cuz it maybe one of those places where you order at a counter and they bring out the food to you. He came back and said they do have wait staff. They all thought the other wait staff were waiting on us....NOT. Note, this place was not that busy finally a girl came out very apologetically. She took our order and brought us our drinks then POOF she was gone. I would have liked to have my coffee topped off, but nope. The food came quickly...cuz they weren't that busy!! I asked the girl if I can get more coffee, she said she would return shortly....POOF again she was gone. The corn beef hash was actually pretty good; made with real corn beef not the can stuff. My husbands veggie omelet was jus so-so. Overall, our experience was just ok. I'd try and find another place next time. read more

It seems that every time I come in here, it's one of the busier times for them. Their food is good, and very consistent-I usually order the same thing every time I come in and it's always very good, even at a different location, which is something to admire about a place. The staff has always been wonderfully nice, though I have been slightly underwhelmed with them-which is most likely due to how busy they are and the fact that they're tying to pay attention to several tables at once in a packed space. read more

I like this place. I have been to this place many times over the years. I don't usually order much but omelettes and they are always good. I have ordered different things a couple times and wasn't disappointed but wasn't amazed. Food usually comes out pretty quick and service is usually pretty good. Exprehhhhhss yourself! Usually hit the downtown RR Square location of this long time Sant Rosa standard. Breakfast is a no brainer here and easy to split big portions. I like the California Benedict (I like most Benedicts bc my name is Ben ;). Gives a good mix of color from the more typical meat, toast and potatoes. That being said a little corned beef hash to start the program here is also a solid move in my book. Don Taylor, the owner is usually present and attentive. Super friendly. Cool décor and interior with old Jaguar grilles mounted on the Wall. Plus the USAF Woodstock out front, homage to Don's Dad-a Vietnam Globemaster (or similar) pilot, is very cool. One of the most consistent food places of all times, I'm pretty sure. The service is always super fast, and the food quality does not waver. You will spend about $11 a person on average for a meal, but it is worth it. Great staff, the owners are almost always present and welcome feedback. Best Breakfast in Windsor! :) I make my own creation, I love the combination of Spinich, Mushroom, bacon and feta cheese...Yum. Potatoes are great, I prefer the sourdough sliced. The french bread is too thick for me. A real plus to eating here is the quickness and as well friendliness of the staff! They are also very accomadating to the children. Fresh squeeze OJ is a plus, coffee is consistant. :) The reason I downgrade a star, I feel that the prices are a few dollars higher then they should be. read more

We loved Omelette Express, as a quick homemade breakfast restaurant. My daughter noticed it because of the large Snoopy outside, as we passed by it late on a Friday evening. So that Sunday morning we dropped in for breakfast before heading to the airport. The service was swift and attentive, the quality of the food was very good for a breakfast restaurant, and I was really impressed that the owner was onsite keeping a close eye on the business and assuring that all the patrons were taken care of. Nice big breakfast. The omelette tasted kinda funky to me. Like they put Italian seasoning in it or something. And the avocado is more like guacamole. Everything is priced about a dollar too high. The tables were pretty sticky. I guess you wouldn't have to worry about your plate sliding around. Service was good but the check took forever. read more

I have been a patron of the Omelette Express for years. First when they started the location back on 4th St in Santa Rosa. Then when they moved to Windsor. When they were on 4th St they had great service and the best omelette's in town. However, Since the Windsor location has opened. My experience has been consistently negative. From terrible service, to overcharging, to the most recent experience where they charged me extra money for items I added to my omelette (Avocado and Tomatoes) then didn't include the items. This would not have been an issue. But the order was for pick up. By the time we realized they did not include the requested items we called and the told us that we could drive back and get the $3-4 refunded. It was not worth the drive in the rain. The only reason we went to Omelette Express today was because we received one of their coupons for 50% off coupons for the 2nd Omelette. We learned when we got there that you had to spend like $8 in drinks to get $6 off an omelette. You don't have to work in Finance to figure out those numbers don't add up. To be fair, if we were eating in the restaurant. We would probably be ordering drinks. But for a to go order. Just didn't make sense. I usually let things slide for the most part, chalk up bad customer service to "having a bad day" or a one off experience. But this review is based on my last several visits and just the overall decline in customer service I have experienced over my last few visits. This is the last straw. I will not be going back to Omelette Express. There is another restaurant in the Town Green that has a much more pleasant experience and more outside dining options (even in the pouring rain). So I will be continuing to give them my business for Weekend Breakfast get togethers. read more

My breakfast at the Omelet Express was surprisingly disappointing against the rave reviews on here. Unfortunately the waitress was a bit lax - she skipped a drink order and confused an entree order (asked for two eggs whites but received an egg white omelet). The potatoes that came with our meals were bland and needed salt. The fruit bowl was frozen and spoiled. However, the Eggs Benedict and omelets were great; the ingredients tasted fresh and yummy. read more

The very friendly server that made our visit even more enjoyable, had our order delivered in less than 10 minutes (tho the restaurant wasn't really busy). I think this place was meh. If I came back to Windsor, I wouldn't return here. The husband had the # 6, Turkey, Ham, Spinach and Rarebit Sauce while I had the California Benedict. FYI....rarebit sauce is cheddar cheese sauce. #6 was good but really heavy on the rarebit that the husband had to keep wiping the sauce away. I liked his dish in the sense that it was piping HOT! My California Benedict was mediocre at best. The chefs were heavy handed on the hollandaise sauce that my english muffins were pretty soggy by the time it got to me. I was there this morning, living in Windsor, I want all places of business to do well, however first time ever there today walked in and took a seat, one of two cust. there,menu was on the tables, waitress walked over and i order a standard eggs Benedict, I was seating right across from cooking area, eggs were ready in less then 5 min. Cook than placed order on counter about ten feet of me, as I am looking at meal waiting for waitress , two min. Then three min. Four min. I was ready to get up an get it myself , but then the cook brings order to my table, looked great! I took first bite, and it was that taste! I recognize in a instance, it was powdered Add water = hollandaise sauce, Wrong all wrong, Fresh hollandaise sauce can be made in less then 4 min. I ask the very nice cook/ waiter how he made the the sauce? He reach down and pulls up a can of instance hollandaise, I knew it, and i asked if he knew how to make it, he did not, and he really wanted to learn how, by the way this kid was not at fault in anyway, just doing what he was told to do, I would love for your rest. To step up and teach your cook how to make it himself, go to skillets and see for yourself what a good hollandaise sauce is I will be back to try again The young man cooking gets 4 stars for the attempt read more

I Literally just moved into town this morning and was looking for a little diner to grab breakfast. I stumbled across Omelette Express in the quaint little town of Windsor. I ordered the first Omelette on the menu. It was tasty. Not the best Omelette I've ever had, but definitely not the worst. The service was really good, friendly and fast, so it made up for whatever flavor was lacking from the Omelette. The portion size was definitely worth the price.
