Had to wait for at least 10 min waiting on the hostess to get checked out at the register. The waiter let the toast sit in the window. He said he wanted to make sure the toast was fresh yet actually was cold when we got it. Not our first trip into this restaurant, though admittedly depends on the day and time of the experience. This time around 1 pm was packed and there was a period of waiting and the noise level was pretty high. Once seated, hubby and I both ordered the Senior Turkey Bacon Swiss Panini with water and waffle fries. Really, you can't beat the prices and today this dish was very good, tasty with hot crunchy fries and tasty filling panini. We usually gauge the amount served by whether or not we'll need to take some home, and this time we did. Was there for a mid-week lunch, ordered the fish and it was hard and dry on the one inch wide edges and the center didn't taste good. I asked server for a replacement. An older woman approached and was annoyed that I didn't like it. She made a fuss and begrudgingly agreed to replace it. She said "when she was a child and didn't like the food, she ate it anyway". I recently visited while I was back in town and was really looking forward to having the lemon rice soup. I've been coming to Round the Clock since I was a kid, and after living out of state for a few years, I was genuinely excited to come back. Unfortunately, that excitement was completely taken away by both the service and the food quality. I came in with my sister and nephew, and from the moment we were seated, the experience felt off. Our first server approached us without any greeting or eye contact and simply said, "What do you want to drink?"no introduction, no warmth, nothing. It was honestly shocking. I understand it was St. Patrick's Day and things were busy, but this is clearly a place that handles volume regularly, so that shouldn't excuse the lack of basic customer service. Shortly after, another woman came up and said, "I'm your server now," again without introducing herself. When we asked about specials, she didn't know. As someone who works in the service industry in Las Vegas, I know how important customer experience is, and this fell far below even the basics. To make matters worse, the food itself was very disappointing. The quality just wasn't there, which made the whole visit even more frustrating given the nostalgia I had for this place. Overall, the service was poor, the food was underwhelming, and the experience left a really bad impression. I ended up leaving no tip, which I never take lightly, but it reflected the level of service we received. Also, I'd like to add. Her nose piercing was very unprofessional and very distasteful to see. Today I went to Round The Clock restaurant in Schererville with my mom and our friend. Round the clock is a 24 hr chain restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. It's a very cozy place with excellent service and phenomenal food. I got the fried shrimp and sweet potato fries, my mom got the garden club with regular fries and our friend got the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The fried shrimp were hot and crispy and very flavorful. We also got soup. Our friend and I got lemon rice and my mom got vegetable soup. Very tasty! Our server Robbie was incredible. Very outgoing and funny. Made our experience enjoyable. The only issue was it was kind of loud and cramped which made it a bit difficult to talk and maneuver my power chair, but we made it work. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Would definitely go back. 5 stars. read more

I have really mixed feelings about this place. From 2020 through all of 2024 this was one of our favorite places. Near the end of 2024 we had a very bad experience with a new server who over charged on everything. The manager refused to acknowledge the problem and fix it. She only corrected the bill after the police intervened. The bill went from 92.00 to 35.00. I said we would never goback. Then they had a fire and reopened 6 months later. My wifwand I decided to give the another chance. Everything that night was OK, except when we asked for more napkins. The server said they were only allowed to give 1 per customer. If they give more than 1 they get chargd.. then next time, about a week later another problem with a server. I ordered coffee and my wife ordered hot tea. The server said in a loud stern voice NO HOT TEA. And walked away. When I asked for my coffee, the same server server said very loudly I'M WORKING and walked away. At this point our daughter who was visiting from California went and talked with the manager the manager came over assigned the server to another table. The manager took over our service. She explained that there was a language problem with the server. She also said thar their deliveries have been a problem. They were out of tea bags. This was also the same day we had to put our 14 or old dog to sleep. I didn't get the managers name , but her daughter's name was Penny.she was our server a other time and was very good. Then last night. We get to RTC at 940pm. Get seated by 945pm. Then the same server with the language problem takes our order. We are both seniors. I order coffee a d water. My wife orders water. The server brings rolls and says NO BUTTER. I asked what does that mean? Again NO BUTTER. and walks away. About 8 minutes later a different server comes to take our order. I order the pot roast. I asked about butter. She said her shift just started and went and checked. She apologized and said they were out of butter. She said they have been having a lot of delivery problems. I ordered the potroast from the senior menu. She said they can out of pot roast. OK I can understand that they only make so much cash day. She also say that senior menu expired at 10pm. I said it was not 10 yet. I checked my phone. It was 1002. I said OK fine. At this point we had already been sitting for 10 to 15 minutes.my wife ordered fish. I ordered thr BBQ burger. Our food comes, my wife asked for tarter sauce. Guess what they are out of starter sauce. Server said their delivery was messed up. I said my burger was missing the onion ring. Server checked. They are out of onion rings. The server then told us about numerous delivery problems. The tater tots I ordered with the burger are Not Tater tots. They are mashed potatoes that have been pressed the a tube, cut and deep fried. They are not good. They used to be really good, and crunchy, and not mashed potatoes. Finally. Before you go to an interview: Consider the color of your skin! There is no doubt all are welcomed! However, Latinos reign here- especially when Sandra is on duty. She will give you a priority status, next to Caucasian and then African Americans are the runner ups. You will not get a break, even if you work a double, leaving you exhausted. However, you keep going because the money is constantly coming in. Cheryl will lie about the schedule and blame the owner, even when you overheard the conversation. Aaric, is the ultimate leader. They truly do not deserve him. He's exemplary, patient, firm and kind. Can't duplicate that man. The lady owner does not speak. She will walk pass you as if you're not even there. The male owner speaks, and will ask you how you're doing. They are very active at this particular location. All in all, there is no relax time, no breaks and you only get a free meal when you sale 6 to-go meals Or work a double. Still- you are not mandated by the state to take a break- that's only for managers. Remember if you're Latino/a you have priority status, next is Caucasian then Afro Americans. Before deciding to work here ask yourself if you thrive off the hustle and bustle. Ask yourself do you have a thick skin to withstand systemic hidden racism. Ask yourself are able to be your best self when under a high amount of pressure for long periods of time. In my opinion, this job is only for a select few. You don't need any experience! However a thick skin, and no food for long periods of time you could easily make $85-$150/day. Take into consideration you only get $2.13/hr so when it's time to do side work as a beginner and it takes you an hour or two- to finish after the shift. You only make $2.13/ hr so try and finish your side work before you complete the shift. You will never leave on time. Good luck and choose your path wisely. I had to learn the hard way-as one server stater I'm a lifer! It's so interesting that people dont even realize how great they are and they succumb to such working such conditions and are ok. I'm great, and I deserve a whole lot more than what this company has offered: 2.13/hr, systemic racism, long hours-no food breaks and 6-13 days straight working. My family and I came here for brunch on Sunday, 3/8/26. We were seated as soon as we arrived by the friendly host. We were given menus and silverware by our host as well. Our server came and had taken our drink order but did not ask if we wanted waters and I forgot to ask that but normally we are given water right away. This was not the case today. We ordered breakfast and lunch entrées. One of my daughters ordered soup and normally the rolls come ahead of the soup, but we had to ask another server to bring our rolls, as our waiter did not even bring them with her soup. My daughters commented that the rolls tasted differently. I took a bite, but I didn't notice anything different. Myself and my daughter's fiancé ordered the Great breakfast. When our entrées came, I noticed that the bacon was very limp, not crispy at all. Normally it is and had kind of a strange taste to it. We had to ask for syrup twice and it took a while for that to come, and my daughter's fiancé also asked for A1 sauce and had to ask twice. The food overall just wasn't that great this time around and the server although very nice, was not very attentive. He almost seemed very nervous. I don't know if it was his first day or what the deal could've been, but it was a very disappointing meal overall. Normally I love going to RTC at this location because I feel you get a lot for your money and the food is very good but this time it was a miss. i've been here many Sundays as well and I don't think it was because they were super busy. We were in the area yesterday and decided to give this place a try. Our servers name was Marissa, she was actually really nice and was cracking jokes and giving menu suggestions. The prices here are not bad at all. If you order a lunch or dinner entrée it comes with soup or salad and dessert included. I ordered the pot roast dinner, which was around $10.79. It came with mashed potatoes, and vegetables. The pot roast was OK, it was a lot different than what I'm normally used to, so I don't think I would get it again. It was sliced differently, so maybe that's what threw me off. It also came with lemon rice soup, which I actually liked. I took the slice of pumpkin pie home. My fiancé ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. His meal was around $13.79. He had the chicken noodle soup, onion rings, baked potato and cheesecake with his. I did like the chicken fried steak, I thought it was pretty good. The onion rings are beer battered, which we like. The cheesecake was pretty good, it wasn't as sweet as other restaurants, so I liked that. I think my only complaint about the whole experience , would be there was way too many waitresses in such a small area. Hardly any of them had on masks, a lot of them have extremely long hair. My experience here (I only order to go) seems to get worse every time. You can ask in the nicest way possible for extra syrup(they give only 3 to go cups regardless of breakfast related bread you order) and now your getting extreme passive aggressive service. The food quality varies very good or very poor. I hardly ever receive even utensils or napkins. Very disappointing. They served a basket of rolls with butter on the side right away. They were enjoyable, especially with butter! The soup was great as well and was a good size for what came with the meal. The Cheeseburger was pretty good. It was cooked alright, but the bun wasn't the greatest. I wasn't a fan of the large piece of lettuce and tomato either, but maybe someone else would be. The last couple of times I have gone to the Schererville, In. RTC it has been hugely disappointing. I ordered the grilled chicken breasts and they were like the smashed chicken breasts on a frying grill. Tasted like hamburger. Potatoes' had a hard " shell " on them like they had been scooped out earlier just to have ready for orders. Veggies were corn, that was okay. The next week had sautéed ocean perch...it was more like on the same hamburger grill. Aren't they suppose to be sauteed in butter??? Beans were mush. The orange juice was good and the food a few other people ordered looked good too but not ours. Parts of the bacon were almost raw. French toast was overcooked, even though it was ordered light cooked. Black grill grease was smeared across one of the hashbrown orders. The hostess made our visit much worse. First she was eavesdropping and then wanted to see what my friend put on the comment card, so she came by and took a plate which had all the gross pieces on it and proceeded behind the counter with it, where instead of clearing it, she pointed it out to the waitress and said "look at this" in a condescending manner, while glancing at me, and then when the waitress came to bring the check the hostess told the cook we were complaining about him, (which we hadnt) The waitress was wonderful. She apologized for the food and the hostess and offered to comp part but we didnt accept. I went to pay and the hostess asked if everything was good. She knew it wasnt. I didnt reply. I peeped other tables as I was getting sat to see what looked appetizing and the skillet caught my dinner eye. Opening up the menu, the had a vast selection for breakfast/lunch/dinner. I ended up going with the good morning breakfast because it was similar to the skillet. The only difference was that the good morning breakfast came with French toast.
