My delicious meal! Lomo saltado, shaken beef with garlic noodle, and grilled pork vermicelli
    Czarina D.

Impressed! As a Lomo Saltado lover, I was so happy to see some nearby Peruvian/Vietnamese food. Ordered a few things off Doordash and everything was really really good! I got to try the Lomo Saltado, Garlic Noodle with Shaken Beef, and Grilled Pork Vermicelli with Egg Roll. The Lomo Saltado was SO GOOD! I was so impressed by how the french fries stayed crispy and the overall flavor was incredibly addicting. Amazing green sauce as well (and the green sauce is good on just about anything). I also really enjoyed the Shaken Beef with garlic noodle. I loved the plethora of vegetables and the beef was cooked perfectly! Flavors were again fantastic. This is just my preference, but I would've loved a more punchy/pronounced garlic flavor and perhaps slightly thinner noodles. But that's just my preference! :) The Pork Vermicelli was another great dish! The pork was marinated SO WELL. Enjoyed their nước chấm (sweet & sour fish sauce) which I poured onto everything. Only thing that was missing was that I wish they gave me something spicy like chili sauce/sambal oelek (but no worries, I always have a jar of sambal at home). Egg roll was also fried to perfection and not oily at all! Overall, a really delicious meal! Would definitely eat here again!

The place was buzzin on Saturday afternoon which I immediately took as a good sign. It was an extremely hot day (cue Cali heat wave) and standing inside the restaurant didn't help. No AC and hot open kitchen made for a sweaty time. Ordered an Ai Pono Poke bowl and Roots plate to-go. Our total was $38 between the two items. Got home in about 25 mins and immediately dug in. For a $16 poke bowl, I guess I was expecting a bit more fish. Also, the rice had a sour ish taste (according to me). The Roots plate quantity was solid but the short rib was very chewy. Definitely a preference thing but chewy short rib is not my jam. The flavors were good though. There wasn't much of a service aspect to our experience cause we took our meal to go. Unfortunately was a bit disappointed as the food didn't hit the mark but very open to trying again in the future.

My daughter is adventurous and loves trying different kinds of food. I made reservations a month in advance for a party of 5. 2 adults, 13, 10 and 7yo. We came here on August 2nd. Their brunch is only available the first Sunday of the month. First of all, it's been very warm in orange county and we noticed that it was warm in the restaurant. Stuffy and you can barely feel the air conditioning. They only had lamb that day as their protein option. They ran out towards the middle of our meal, and they had to cook up some steak (flank?). You get one non-alcoholic drink ticket. There were about 5 different options and my husband and I saved our tickets for the kids so they can try a few more since we were limited to one ticket each. A few other options they had included chicken pho (basic and very little flavor), steamed sui mai (meat dumplings) that tasted like it was frozen and over cooked, fried egg (literally just that), spring roll, fried wontons, and one chocolate dessert. Remember this is an AYCE brunch! I was floored. Of course I spoke to the manager after dinner and he gave me the most annoyed and disgusted look. He was a tall, Asian man that looked like he was in his late 20s. I saw an older Caucasian man standing next to him and he looked like he could have been the owner or someone in charge, so I asked and sure enough he was the owner. He was kind and attentive the entire time. But I basically told the owner that I didn't like the way the manager side eyed me and frowned as soon as I said I'd like to speak to the manager. In any case, I told them everything that I had mentioned here. The owner took down my email address and phone number and offered to invite us back another time. I was optimistic that maybe they would send me an email to apologize and to invite us to come back. I was tempted to write this review immediately after I left but I thought I would just sit on it. I figured maybe they would be nice and try to make things right. A week later... no email or call. It's been over a month and nothing. Why bother take down my information if you're not going to do anything about it? We walked out paying almost $400 for a terrible and grossly expensive meal and we all left hungry and unhappy. My husband I and haven't been here since the AnQi's famous garlic noodles days so it's been at least 10 years. We thought we'd come back and check out the brunch with our kids. Unimpressed. Will never come back again. Hands down worst $$$ meal ever. AnQi - Please do better.

And I am SO glad we did because everything about our experience was seriously a 10/10! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing. The gentleman at the front greeted us and escorted us to our table, and right away we felt welcomed and comfortable. Our server, Quang, was absolutely the sweetest! He was so friendly, outgoing, attentive, and helpful, especially when it came to giving us recommendations since it was our first time there. He had such a positive energy and really made our experience even better. And the FOOD!!! If I could give it 1,000/10, I seriously would. We tried the Ube Cloud, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Spicy Shrimp Wontons, Corn Ribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, and Filet Garlic Noodles, and honestly, there wasn't ONE thing we didn't enjoy. Everything was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. But what really stood out to us was that it wasn't just the food -- it was the entire experience. The staff, the atmosphere, the music, and just the overall vibe made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. The music they were playing was amazing too! My friend and I were enjoying ourselves, eating good food, listening to good music, and just having such a great time. The whole place honestly had such a warm, homey feeling to it. When we were leaving, the gentleman who had greeted and seated us earlier ended up having a whole conversation with my friend and me. He was so sweet and personable! He mentioned that they may be opening a location in Culver City, and I told him I really hope they do because that would be much closer to home for me. I was even joking with him that if they open one, they need to bring the whole staff from this location over there too because everyone here was THAT amazing. At the same time, even if there ends up being a location closer to me, I would honestly still make the drive back to this one. When you visit somewhere for the first time and have such a great experience, that location becomes special. You can visit the same restaurant somewhere else, but the people, atmosphere, and experience aren't necessarily going to feel the same. This location definitely left that kind of impression on us. I really hope this review reaches management because the staff here deserves the recognition. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful, and Quang especially took such great care of us. This was our first time at VOX Kitchen, but it DEFINITELY won't be our last. We're already talking about coming back and bringing our family and more of our friends so we can all enjoy it together. 10/10 food. 10/10 service. 10/10 atmosphere. 10/10 experience. You guys definitely gained some returning customers!

We started with soju and the crispy calamari. The squid itself was good and I liked the cocktail sauce, but there was a little too much breading for me. Good, just not the best calamari I've had. The entrées were Immaculate. The gochujang pork belly with mashed potatoes was SO good. The pork was tender and practically pulled apart, while the mashed potatoes were creamy and soft. It genuinely felt like I was biting into heaven. Then came the dashi pesto udon with scallops. What a fusion. I loved the concept, the pesto was packed with flavor, the udon had a great texture, and the scallops had a beautiful sear. Momonoki is truly a hidden gem. Everyone was scooping up every bit of sauce on this one. 9.5/10 Pork belly: the pork was flavorful and tender but the mashed potatoes under it was the real hero. 8.7/10 Pork jowl: this might have been my favorite thing along with the carbanara. The problem was extremely tender and yet still had some give. The accompanying sauce gave it a salty kick and wrapping it in lettuce really gave it that korean essence. 9.5/10 Overall, this place delivered on great food and would come back anyway for a fancy meal. Also shoutout to our server who dealt with the entire restaurant alone and didn't miss a beat.
