Saigon Beach Ground Pork Crispy Egg Roll
    Tim W.

I was greeted early when I came in. I then asked if they had Banh Xeo there but she didn't know what that was which was weird. But oh well. I got the 3 fried egg rolls and the combo Banh Mi. The fried egg rolls were amazing! I recommend everyone get that. The Banh Mi was not tasty nor authentic at all. Was that mayo in there?? I was still so hungry after I went to another place and ordered an entree. I regret tipping 18% on my Togo ordered. Do note they do take a while to make your food. They had a lot of corny Pho sayings on the wall. Read some and just stopped after 2. One read "may the pho be with you.." like wtf. Doesn't even rhyme with Force. At least make it plural to kinda sound similar.

My friends and were craving pho near the beach and stumbled upon this place. It was definitely warm that day and there were not a lot of people inside. Service was fast though with the food. I ordered the eggrolls as an appetizer and then had their pho. The eggrolls were crunchy but would have liked a bit more flavor and portion for the price. As for the pho, there were good portions of meat, but the broth did not taste as flavorful and was bland.

This place is seriously a letdown not even close to the taste of Vietnamese food.. you're better off spending the money on gas going to Westminster to get good authentic Vietnamese food. Seriously overpriced!!! Not going there again Super salty Pho

I LOVE their shrimp spring rolls. It's $11.50 and little bit pricey in compare to other places but it's worth it. Shrimp spring rolls with Avocado yum yum yum!!!! Great combination! Fresh and tasty! The service always great here! The workers always welcoming. The ambiance is cute! Lots of writings and pictures all over the wall and make you busy while you are waiting...Try it and you'll love it! Wherever we go for eating pho this place is our stop for shrimp roll. It's hard to order from somewhere else when you try this location. Saigon Beach you are forever on my heart.

Pork Belly & Grilled Pork Bun Sliders, 420 Downtowner Special, and Nam Nam Wings

Overall: 3.6/5 (dine in) This is a small storefront that's street facing so it might be hard to find parking right in front. I was surprised when I got there because I thought it was a sit down restaurant but the set up is really for take out/delivery. They have bars & stools along the side of the walls but at max, the restaurant can only seat 8-10 people. Customer service is good here though. Pork Belly Bun Slider ($5.95): Better than the grilled pork slider but was just okay. Grilled Pork Bun Slider ($5.75): The grilled pork was very dry. For both sliders, they gave a lot of carrots which I liked but they were lacking all the Vietnamese flavors. The buns were soft though. 420 Downtowner Special ($10.25): We were both so disappointed when we tried this. The presentation was nice but the taste was mid. The green colored rice and the shredded chicken were bland. The pork on top was a bit less dry than the one in the bun and was the only thing with flavor. Nam Nam Wings (5 Wings For $7.95): The wings were the best item of the night. They were crispy and tasty.

Bit pricey but damn is that food good. Never had veg banh mi so tasty mmmm. And they were accommodating of the large (6 person) group

I enjoy a good Vietnamese restaurant but when I stopped in I didn't get any food. It was a warm Spring day so I opted for one of their limeades. They have them in the bubbler so I chose the mango passionfruit one. It was delightful albeit a tad sweet. It's a good thing they pack with full with ice so it can mellow out. I took my drink and walked along the boardwalk taking in the ocean views and the cool breeze. Do yourself a favor and don't sleep on supporting a neighborhood Asian restaurant. Cheers!

The pork bahnmi :: forgive spelling:: was actually pretty great. I loved the smoky aroma within the pork and it had a lot of flavor. It was my favorite. I had quite a bit of bahnmi and they weren't as impressively as flavored as this one. I really liked how casual the atmosphere was, I got a kick out of the wall decoration with a play on words. The server was very flattered by my compliment. She did exactly what was needed. I was there around noon, 4/17/25 so i hope the manager knows who she is and did a good job. Again that was the best sandwich.

Yum! Thst grilled pork vermicelli was excellent. Grilled just right with thst jusicy, tender pork on the vermicelli made just right . Not too soft or mushy. Nice and firm noodles. The vegetables in it were fresh and crispy too. Highly recommended!

Great Vietnamese food in Newport! It's a nice little spot in the popular area of Newport Beach. There isn't much seating but it's the perfect grab n go. The service was good and quick. The food was even better. Grilled Turmeric Chicken Vermicelli Noodle was a 10/10! The chicken was seasoned and perfectly cooked. The noodles were great. It was filling and the sauce was perfect. The shrimp spring rolls 10/10. They taste like authentic spring rolls. The peanut sauce was untraditional, but still good peanut sauce.

Cool inside! We were cracking up at the puns

I've been going to the specific location ever since they opened :) Always has the most incredible Dutch crunch bread. Nobody else in the area does it right like these guys do. Fresh, High-quality ingredients, and a bunch of delicious and various sauce options. I get what I like to call "The California Club" - Which is a grilled chicken sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll with pepper jack, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and whatever sauce I'm feeling that day. Staff is always super chill and the restaurant is nice because the lighting isn't too bright. This is often my choice for having lunch delivered to my work, or just to grab and head down to the beach. 12/10 Can't recommend this place enough, will always return!

The sandwich selection offered a great variety of options and instantly reminded us of some of the delis we visited in Italy. The employee mentioned that fresh focaccia would be ready in about 10 minutes, which was a thoughtful heads-up and definitely worth the wait. I ordered the Carissimo, while my husband--who tends to prefer simpler flavors--went with the Not a Muffuletta without the olive salad. At first, the price for two sandwiches felt a little steep, but after taking a few bites, it felt justified. The focaccia was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. If I had one small suggestion, it would be slightly thinner bread to let the fillings shine even more. That said, both sandwiches were delicious, satisfying, and surprisingly light while still filling. As with many spots on Balboa Island, seating is limited, so I'd recommend planning to take your food to go and enjoy it on the beach or at one of the nearby benches. Overall, though pricier for a sandwich, this is a wonderful addition to the island and a great spot for a summer lunch.

Excellent customer service! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming. Their Billy Cakes aka Rolled Oat Pancakes are the star of the show. It seems like they mix some oatmeal into the pancake batter. I got the cinnamon which comes with homemade cinnamon butter on top. You don't need syrup. In fact next time I'll ask for a little extra cinnamon butter. I also tried a regular pancake with blueberries. That was equally awesome. I ordered the 2 + 2 + 2. The bacon was phenomenal. High quality with a nice subtle smokiness. My over easy eggs were too easy, so next time I'll ask for over medium. The Pastrami Breakfast Tacos were perfect. Again very high quality meats. I loved the Pastrami. The scrambled egg was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were seasoned with too much Cumin for my taste. The owner said they're constantly experimenting and evolving the flavors. I'm looking forward to the next iteration of the potatoes. The coffee was nice and bold. I can't wait to come back!
