I experienced excellent treatment for facial & manicures/pedicures. The customer service and relaxed ambience keeps me coming back.

Nail technician was great, took her time and was very detail oriented. I'm taking off one star for the front desk, one star for the price, and one star for only accepting cash for tips. Front Desk wasn't friendly and I wasn't the only person who has no idea where the waiting area was. A couple of us were a bit aimless. I asked a technician who just sat me down at a workstation after walking me around a bit to see if the one chair they had was available. Once we got started I realized the technicians don't have assigned areas so the front desk should really be sitting the clients down in open stations. Also, for being a "spa", no water or beverages were offered. There were 2-3 ladies at any given time behind the front desk sometimes just on their phones or chit chatting, so it wasn't poor service due to being too busy. I'm used to extremely friendly and helpful front staff when I go to "nicer" places for my nails. And at least some water being offered. Secondly, I've never had a full set that did not include nail extension. By definition, a full set is nail extension. Apparently, not here. Extra $20 for nail extension for already expensive full set $85. Again, all would be fine if the service matched the price. Lastly, they do not accept tips on the card. You have to bring cash. Again, you'd think being an upscale place, they wouldn't be asking you to bring cash! They're obviously not prioritizing their nail techs who are actually really good! read more

Do not ever buy a gift card from this business. They are stealing from their customers. They do not honor the gift card and claim it expires 1 year from issuance. It does not state this anywhere on the gift card. Also, this is illegal in the state of Illinois. Gift cards cannot expire sooner than 5 years from issuance and after 5 years the money should be considered unclaimed property and given to the state of Illinois. OMG is not doing any of this. Not only that but they did nothing to try to resolve the issue and never returned my calls and always said no one was available to speak with regarding honoring the gift card someone worked hard to purchase for me as a gift. I was quite disappointed with the service. The nail technician didn't clean my toe nails the way others have. Now I'm in pain and have to cut them myself. Some of the nail polish didn't dry and got paint on my shoes and clothes. My finger nails were uneven and there were some bubbles left on the no chip nail polish. Overall I wasn't impressed or satisfied with my service. The complimentary wine and hot towels were great. Soko was my boyfriend's technician and she did an amazing job with him. She was friendly and made my boyfriend's first experience better. Also, the front desk service wasn't the best. They definitely need to work on their social skills. I wasn't directed to where to pic my no chip colors. They just sent me off without any direction. The women were extremely short with me in person and over the phone. Sheila is amazing I'm visiting from LA, first time in Chicago, and one of my nails lifted and broke slightly so I came here to get a new set. Sheila was so gentle with my painful nail and even though the salon doesn't have gems, she created a beautiful set that did exactly what I wanted and took her time to make it perfect. I can't stop staring at my nails! They were also giving out free alcoholic and non-alcoholic watermelon coolers in support of free Palestine :) The place is beautiful and the service was amazing. I absolutely love this salon. I had a regular manicure with Mugi and she did an excellent job. 5 days later my nails look almost as perfect as they did day one. The lighting in the day 5 pic isn't amazing but trust me, my nails look great. The spa is beautiful, the service is kind and prompt, they have fun refreshments, and the ventilation is excellent - I couldn't smell chemicals at all. I would note two things- if you're looking for a place with massage chairs, you'll be disappointed because they don't have them, but I didn't miss it at all. Also, I'd say it might be better to call to make your appointment if you want to work with a specific person. Their online booking can be a little glitchy. It was glitchy for me, but they did a great job accommodating the day of, and were super polite. I will definitely go back. read more

Story time! I've been coming here for over a year and each time I come I make an appointment. On several occasions I've had to wait upwards of 40 minutes for someone to service me (FOR AN APPOINTMENT THAT I WAS EARLY OR ON TIME FOR) but since I obviously have nothing better to do, I PATIENTLY wait because hey, sh*t happens. So today, when I mixed up my appointment time (10am vs 11am) being human and all, I call ahead like "oops! Can I reschedule? I'm not going to make it, I'm sorry. Maybe tomorrow since Saturday is busy?" What I thought I might get was a "well we see this has never happened before, so we'll help you out just once because we're not perfect either." Instead, I got "we cant change it and there's a fee" and a $55 charge, the full price of the pedi, to my CC at 10:07am (waited no time taking my money, IC). Terrible customer service. I have been to OMG spa several times with very little consequence but after my experience today I will not be returning and I encourage others not to patronize this place. I had an appointment set for (what I thought was 4:00 turns out it was 4:30). I arrived at 3:00 and inquired if I could move my appointment up. I was original scheduled for a spa pedicure and a manicure. I let the original person I was speaking to at the front desk that I wanted to maintain my service but I wanted to get a basic manicure. This shouldn't have had to be mentioned but I had an urgent family matter I needed to attend to. I wanted to honor my appointment but wanted to save some time. After the manager (?) butted into my conversation she rudely said I'd be charged a cancellation AND for whatever service I was getting. I didn't understand how I wasn't actually cancelling I was literally getting another more paired down service. She then proceeded to go back and forth with me about how it's their policy blah blah and how I should've known that when I made the appointment. I then said "I had a death in the family." She literally said I should've known that in advance to which I replied next time I'll make sure I reschedule their death to match their policy. I am so beyond this woman shouldn't be operating the front desk. I will never ever return to your business and I made a second step to encourage my friends (who used to also frequent the spa) about this experience. So now the $140.00 you TOOK for a service I did NOT use (as I left to never return) will be the last money you get from me and you actually lost out on more because if you check my history I've given this business $1000s over the course of a year or better. I used to love OMG spa but after the expansion the customer service is just not there. I went this week for a mani and pedi (there are no longer any specials) which I was fine with because it was always consistent and good. This week the individual I had paid no attention, she used the stone too much twice, I said loudly "ouch" all I got was the green liquid on my injury. I had bandaids myself and applied them. Yes, the mani and pedi color was good. But I should not be injured and bleeding. Things are a little different at the moment with Covid around but I appreciate all the safety measures that they have in place. I'm not going to lie, I do miss the customer appreciation nights and hope that they will return one day soon! The aesthetics of this place are lovely. It has now been a little over two years since my last review. And in that time nothing much has changed. The only thing that has kept me from taking my business elsewhere is the actual quality of work. But as of today, after patronizing OMG since 2015 (before their expansion) I will now be taking my dollars elsewhere. As previously mentioned OMG per their website touts of luxury and their prices are in alignment with that belief. A mani-pedi is $65,00, but when you add soak off no chip nail polish ($15.00) and callus remover ($18.00) your bill is now $98.00. So with such luxury you still have a owner, Chloe, who barely cracks a welcoming smile, makes eye contact, never says hello, good morning, or a thank you for coming, and that includes such customer friendly courtesies for repeat customers. Heaven forbid if you are a new client. Her receptionist staff are marginally no better depending on the day and the individual. As an aside there was a woman of BIPOC behind the desk who was very friendly. I never saw her before...she must be new. But, I digress. Today, as I approached the door for my 9:00 am appointment there was dog feces within 5 feet of the entrance along with traces of those who clearly didn't see it therefore accidentally stepped in it. I understand it may have been an external factor. However, when I brought it to the attention of the front desk, citing that others may inadvertently step and bring fecal matter into the salon, let's just say that after being in the salon for two hours, Buddy's morning dump was still there with signs of renting space on the unknowing shoes of those who passed by. So is a luxurious experience only relegated to their price sheet? Even snobbery at best and indifference at the very least would be masked with a sense of feigned elegance one would expect at a spa that was in the South Loop and others located north of its location such as Downtown, the Mag Mile, the Gold Coast etc. I know as I've frequented such establishments. I was just happy to give OMG a chance as I one, support women owned businesses, especially those of POC, and two, it was closer to home. How unfortunate that after a global pandemic, and our gradual return to normalcy reflection, gratitude and appreciation feel short on our day to day practices, networking and client care from local business owners. Large salon with beautiful decor. I had a gel manicure with Nima and I was highly impressed; she is neat, tidy, and very precise. She is also very friendly and professional. A week later, I do not have a single chip on my nail polish - that's impressive! All in all, a great manicure and I will most certainly be going back and asking for Nima. read more

The service was very good but I didn't appreciate my experience with the manager. There was a misunderstanding about the service I booked and she was very aggressive to the point where I had to ask her to change her tone. After writing this review, she called me to apologize and took ownership in her actions, which I appreciate. Not very many business owners do this so I applaud her for taking this step. read more

OMG Spa is the only place I will go to in the south loop for my mani/pedis and spa services. It's clean, great ambiance, and amazing service every time! Lynn is the absolute best for anything related to nails , always a 10 every visit. Cosmina is my favorite esthetician/masseuse. I'm picky about everything and these two are the #1s in the business! I live right by this place and had never been but was in a last minute bind and wanted to get my toes done. So I was able to book an appointment same day and they are open till 8 which is nice. Upon coming in it was lively and people filling up the nail booths... I was told to come in and told where to go but wasn't sure who would be waiting on me. Ukey was the mail tech who did my services on my feet! She was very nice and listen to things I asked her and the overall service was nice - my toes came out nice as well! Amazing!!! I used to love this place, and hadn't been in a while (#beingamomishard). OMG Spa is EVEN BETTER than it was before! The space is beautiful, filled with plants. There are no tvs, but there is music playing. The staff are all wonderful. They still have a bowl of chocolate in the waiting area, drinks (water, pop, red or white wine, and green tea). They still do little massages. They have an enormous selection of nail polish! I didn't even know Zoya had that many shades of my favorite blue! They have tons of OPA and Essie too. It is such a relaxing refreshing place for a mani/pedi! I have to make time to come here more often! read more

On 7-14-21 I had a dip done on my nails. On 7-22-21 the dip polish began to pop off. By 7-23-21 and after calling to get what I thought was just one nail repaired others began to have the dip polish pop off and loosen up. I had to glue the dip polish back to my nails to attend my father in law's funeral as well as go to dinner for my Anniversary. After coming into the salon and even emailing pictures to the owner after asking to have my nails redone to just a no chip bc they looked so bad & I had meetings as of the date/time of this review the owner has not gotten back to me to even respond if she would give complimentary no chip service in place of the terrible dip service. Today I decided to have the dip removed at another salon and because of the lifting of the dip polish one of my nails actually had fungus no doubt from water/moisture getting under the polish....this is a NIGHTMARE!!! Honestly I can accept "no you don't come the replacement service. But to not respond at all. Additionally, there is a similar review on Yelp from 4 months ago where the salon states themselves in response to a complaint that their dip service is supposed to last 14 days. If this is the case they should have immediately offered to remove the terrible quality lifting dip nail polish and give the no chip service as requested. I have gone here for years since they first opened their doors. I WILL NOT REST until they pay me for the service and any issues with this nail fungus. read more

I don't thing it's good business practice to take away a nail tech without notifying me BY PHONE. Whenever I receive services, I go to ONE person only. Yesterday I made an appointment with Bella. It was CONFIRMED. Today I receive a reminder with another nail technician. I call for an explanation and did not receive one. Clearly, she was reassigned to another client today. I would also like to mention, is the only reason I continued patronizing this place is because of her as those who work at the front desk, including the owner are not the most pleasant and welcoming. There are too many spas in the area and I'm sure my business won't be missed. I'm just making it clear to this business as to why I will not be back. So sorry, Bella. This review only reflects the salon aspect of OMG because I have had a good experience with nails. Because of my good experience with nails, I figured I would try the salon. I asked for a simple trim and layers. The stylist immediately washed my hair and then brushed it out. She began her haircut and seemed to know what she was doing. However the haircut was only about five minutes and she started blowing drying. She never checked her work for evenness or anything...but I figured she is the stylist, she knows what she is doing. My hair was still damp but then she began to curl it. After 20 minutes, my haircut was done. I sensed it wasn't completely right but I went home to exam it myself better at home. I washed, blow dried and straighten my hair. To my horror, my hair looked like a child cut it. The longest layer is uneven and the layers are just random chops. It was an evening haircut and I didn't dare go back there. I had to get a second haircut with another salon the next day to attempt to fix this. Nail tech was really nice, but did not do a good job with nails. Shape is uneven and the filing was done poorly so the dip powder on my nails is really bumpy and just looks poorly done. Corrected him a couple of times but was running late for a flight so didn't want to stay to get it fixed (past the hour and a half it took to get my nails done). Additionally, asked for design at first but he could only do plain nails and no one was available for a design (the design being a French tip?). Later, he mentioned there were other nail techs just waiting in the back since it was a slow day - but no one was available to do a French tip? Okay. First time here and my experience was wonderful! There are different colors to pick from and the staff is also very nice! Prices are very affordable compared to most places in the south loop. I got the basic manicure for $19 and they did a very wonderful job! They also offer other services as well! Booking an appt is definitely recommended because the place does get packed. Sadly/ after years of being clients. The wifey and I will not be returning for services. The turnover rate for employees as well as the quality of services had declined immensely. It seems after they expanded their service l, the quality and attention to detail has gone down. Before every provider offered water or a beverage and they engaged clients while performing services. Now we were not offered any beverages, the service providers chose not to interact with us, but instead spoke to each other in a different language. While I have no issues with this- it's uncomfortable when you only use hand gestures to communicate with me- but you are fluent in English and speak to your coworkers the whole time in your home language. Even after expressing our concern, the response was a practiced sorry. Too bad. So sad read more

First time coming to this place to get my brows waxed. -1 star because my appointment was at 4PM with Sara. Was told she was finishing up with her previous appointment. At about 4:15, I got my eyebrows waxed by someone else because Sara was still not available... -1 star because I've had my eyebrows waxed often and had no sensitivity but was told there was a lot of redness around my eyebrows because my skin was sensitive. I felt a specific area under my right eyebrow that hurts now a few hours later and she definitely took off a piece of my skin. Ouch!!! Great nail technician but be careful with the Scams ! I went there to buy a git card for my wife. I asked the GenZ in the front desk what specials they had and they told me they were running a $75 special for Manicure and Pedicure, and the special was valid from Monday until Wednesday. So I asked for availability and they made an appointment for Wed at 3:30 PM. When my wife showed up, the same GenZ in the front desk did not honor the price and told her the special was only valid until 3:00 PM so they charged her full price. Clearly, the GenZ in the front desk knew I wanted to take advantage of the special but pull this fast one, which it is very dishonest. The GenZ refused to take any responsibility. My wife did say the nail technician did a great job. So, if you go there, be careful with the scams. read more

So I like this place a lot and honestly cant figure out why its not love. The spa is expensive to me and each service seems to be different depending on who is doing the service. For instance, I've seen some people have their hands treated with moisturizing gloves and some without. However, everyone seems to be offered tea, wine, or water and neck massages. Some tips for you: They don't do acrylic nails and many people dont seem to do extensions. They are booked fairly quicky. So make an appointment. Parking is tight too. Plan ahead or you will be late. The place has thousands of colors. The pedicures are luxurious but I miss the old spa chairs from other salons. They take their time with you. They have lot of colors but they are also under construction so the noise doesnt always allow for total relaxation. Im still on the hunt for a nail salon... read more

My new favorite nail spot. The space is beautiful, clean, and so inviting. I was able to book an appointment in an hour online, and they have a ton of essie, and OPI colors. They offer tea, water, and wine for beverages and end manicures with a shoulder massage. Each station for pedicures and manicures has access to an outlet to recharge phones/tech. Gel manicures also come with a collagen hand mask to protect skin from UV and moisturize. My technician was incredible. She had incredible attention to detail. She caught a chip in my pedicure and redid it immediately, and made sure I knew to come back if something happened. I also love that this spa had a really diverse staff and clientele. OH NO Spa!!! I can't believe that I'm writing a review of what was once my favorite nail salon. I mean I was that customer who came in religiously twice a month. I also brought my mother in once if not twice a month. Sara and Bella were my favorite technicians. Not only did I get routine service, I often purchased products that they sold.. Love The Nest candles. Well, as it turns out I had to cancel an appointment ( due to a death in the family). I thought maybe a pamper me day would improve my mourning, but the day of the appointment, I couldn't get myself out of bed. Never one to cancel, I felt bad that I took up space with one of my favorite technicians. I tried to cancel online, but was not able to the morning of. Feeling horrible that I had to, I stopped in to give a personal apology to the front desk. Renee, one of the regular front desk receptionist was on when I stopped in. I once again mentioned that I was in mourning and felt bad that I had to cancel. Not one word of condolences was uttered from the front desk. Chloe, the manager in clear view of the conversation never once looked up. Never once acknowledged ( my presence at all). Mind you when I was a paying customer, we exchanged many hellos and thank you greetings. It is not that I was charged a cancellation fee, it was the fact the fee was the SAME FEE as the service... smh I didn't have to go in to explain anything, but did so, as in all the years that I frequented this salon I've never canceled. It was the fact that I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years, a very good tipper and referred many friends to OMG Spa. The decision was made that day, No longer would I give this business the opportunity to provide me services. No, empathy!! No, loyalty!!! No compassion from this salon . I wish there was a 3.5 star option because that would probably be more accurate. I've been here quite a few times since they're close to where I live. Pros: Tons of polishes, lots of nice touches like drinks/massages, and generally just high quality. Cons: 1. Pricey. 2. to me this is SO frustrating. I have booked a specific nail tech and requested that person by name during booking, then arrived to be given someone completely different every single time I've been here. Pretty frustrating when I've changed my schedule to make sure I can go when the tech I wanted was available. Overall a good place to get nails done. read more
