I had an appointment, got confirmation message about having service with Baska, I wanted to do dip nails, so I did request to do it with her. But when I came in at 6 pm, receptionist told me that I have an appointment with another lady, cause Baska has another client. I was trying to show them message but owner waved her hands and didn't even want to look. She said that I don't understand that she has a request for 6:30 pm with another client. I told her I did request her for 6 pm and got confirmation. I asked her does my money smell different or they have client preferences? But owner started to argue with me. And I am her client! And guess what, her requested client was white american lady and Iam asian. Probably to owner that looks like more preferable client who can advise salon to her white friends. How we call that kind of people, if I remember correctly racist. This is my assumption. And I am permanent client, but never got even a smile from owner. She is rude and very unprofessional. If you are owner and work with people you have to keep ethic and be polite at least. This place has so low ratings just because of owner. She is rude! read more

Too pricey, otherwise would be my go to. This is a very nice salon that has expanded their space and offerings, I'm always happy with my no chip mani, spa pedi and an occasional eye brow wax however the prices have gone up and it's just not worth it. The salon is clean, they offer water, tea, wine, and an assortment of candies in the waiting area (my girls enjoy that, too much:) I brought my young daughters in for a fun girls day and was shocked at the price of their mani/pedi (they're 4 and 6 so pretty basic service and wow! Found out about this place from Yelp and am so glad I did! Jade was super kind and welcoming; I loved her kind and sweet spirit. I loved to see a variety of nail techs as well a variety of clients recieving services. The price was super reasonable and both the time and money were well spent! Absolutely disappointed with this place. Never have I left a salon so upset especially after hearing such great things about this place. As a new resident to Chicago, my first walk-in experience a few weeks ago wasn't too great-- my male tech didn't offer me refreshments, back massage, warm shoulder compress etc. it must've been his first day bc it took forever So my girlfriends told me to make an appt with Sammi. I went online to make an appt with Sammi and was glad she was available. When I get to the salon, she's expecting me and does my pedicure. Then at the start of my mani... she waves over to a male tech to come over. She then tells me she has to go to another client and walks away. I wait for about 15 min for the male tech to finish up with his client and then he finishes my nails. Of course this entire time I'm upset bc it's absolutely rude that the techs switch. Afterwards, I approach the front desk and explain the situation. She pretty much blames me for user error.. states the girl has an appt with someone else. Then why did I get a text message confirmation with Sammi and even says it on my online history. It was obvious they were pulling client favorites. I clearly told her that I made an appt with Sammi and kept making me feel like it was my fault. Knowing I was going no where with this.. she says it's gonna be $75, ok. First and foremost, the service here is outstanding. All of the employees are very attentive and helpful. The color selection is really nice and the prices are great (35 mani-pedi Monday-Wednesday). The mani-pedi was one of the best I have gotten, they take their time and make sure it looks beautiful. Amazing addition to the South Loop neighborhood. I will definitely be coming back. Slow holiday and wanted a quick mani/pedi. As noted in other reviews, the place was clean, outstanding polish selection and pleasant. It was a bit annoying having to call to make an appointment as opposed to a web interface and when I got there the receptionist was a bit aloof. Despite those annoyances, the mani pedi was professional, efficient (a tad over a hour) and competitively priced for $39. If I'm in the need for a quickie and have schedule availability - I can deal with the unpleasantries when weighed against the service and its value! read more

This review is based on regular manicure. I originally had no chip on so had to get it removed. They charged $10 which I thought was a bit high. The lady that did my nails didn't even ask what shape I want when she was filing my nails. With what I paid for, my nails didn't turn out great. There's other places that I've been to that charges way less that does a better job than this nail salon. read more

So grateful to have OMG Nails in the South Loop / Prairie District! The salon is clean, well managed, and the staff does great, thorough work. We have been able to walk-in or make appointments at any time with no problem. Omg! I love OMG Nail Spa! So glad my friend put me on to the nail salon. Just walking in the door, you immediately get the feel that this would be a different kind of nail spa. Nicely appointed, the owner welcomed me referencing my name and asked if I wanted water or wine before escorting me to the pedicure chair. It's clean, nice music playing, there are tons of nail colors, and the technicians are great at what they do! I got a regular mani and I didn't see my first "chip" for five days...unheard of for me! I have been coming to OMG for many years now and so sad to write this review. The space has improved greatly. The service however has not. I came last weekend for regular mani and pedi. The woman allowed me to put my feet in water tub that wasn't cleaned. The other worker had to say something. Gross!!!! They never offered me a drink while others around are having wine, water, tea. I was never offered the standard neck massage. While drying, other people's old beverages were still right there and used flip flops/toe separators still on floor next to me. For the price, this should not be the case. The remodeling is beautiful but I think they lost their customer service. I'm so disappointed about OMG. I have told so many family members and friends to go here and sadly, I will not be returning anymore. I will not be able to recommend this spa. I paid extra for long wear polish too- it was chipped by the end of evening:-( read more

My little sister and I have gone here twice now for no-chip manicures. The first lasted for over two weeks. We just did the second today because the first was so good. They have been able to take us on a Saturday both when we called that morning, which is amazing. This place is alright though it definitely needs to change its prices. They charge $35 for a gel soak off and $20 to use no chip polish. I was quoted a price for my manicure only to come back the next day to a price that was $40 more. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this place but seeing how they seem to make up prices as they go (and a number of people who complain of this happening are fellow people of color) I won't be returning. I must say, this nail salon is hands down the best I've been to so far. I live in the South Loop and there's about 4 nail salons surrounding me and I haven't been impressed with either of them. This place is mediocre at best. And I expected more considering I paid $45 for a gel manicure. The guy did not evenly square my nails (I had to tell him to fix like 4 of them because they were not straight) and then he only put two coats of color and almost forgot the top coat! I had to ask him if he was going to put it on! Then, if you don't have cash for tip, they charge you $2.00 to put a tip on your card because of "credit card fees" even if you are already paying for the service on the card!!! This is one of the best nail salons I have been to in my life (and I have lived in several large cities in my life). It is always clean and smells so nice (and not like chemicals because they use mostly organic products). I always leave the salon with PERFECT nails (no chip or regular) because they take their time. The shoulder rub and foot scrubs are just a bonus. Be prepared to spend some money (especially if you get the no chip), but ti is worth every penny! read more
