Because the part was free they charged me a $79 diagnostic fee PLUS an aggressively inflated $252 labor fee for 2 minutes of physical labor to swap out a capitor. This is a $7,500/hr. labor rate. They rushed to cash my check within hours of leaving my house so I could not dispute and their office said I was being unreasonable when I asked for a fair breakdown. Omni was quick and easy to set up appointment but fixed nothing. Called Omni last night to set up appointment to service A/C. Was running the unit all day and was unable to get the house below 80 degrees. 2 rooms have low air flow out of the vent and one vent in the living room has no flow. Omni arrived and check everything out and said we were low on Freon. They did say we had a small leak and we could add 3 lbs and it should last use a few years before we need another charge or repair the leak. We added the freon, as repairing the leak would cost in the $1000.00 per Omni. After the Freon was added and paying 400.00, the house is still at 80 degrees and the unit runs none stop and no additional airflow to the rooms. We called Omni back after the original visit fixed nothing, the tech said the duct work was inefficient and adding the Freon was not going to fix the temperature. That's were I have my issue, since adding the Freon was not going to fix anything, I would have kept my $400.00 and apply it to the issue that will fix the issue. Maybe is was a communication issue, but feel scammed. Maybe scammed is to harsh, but do feel upsold!!! This has nothing to do with the recommendations, or put blame on anyone. But why sell something that doesn't fix the problem. If the tech said- I can add the Freon and it won't fix anything, we would have passed and applied the money to the solution that would fix our issue. read more

On October 15 I had a technician by the name of Noah, come to my home to check my heating unit He was going to order a relay for my heating unit and was going to contact me within 5 days . I had not heard from him or anyone for that matter and I emailed the company today. ( Nov 1) he called me back right away but I missed the calls and called him back again. I spoke with him and he told me that the unit was too old and that they cannot work on it or order parts ( when did he find this out ??) I understand that the unit is over 20 years old and they cannot work on it ... this is the not the problem the problem is simple lack of communication I could have been using this time to find a new unit or another option instead of waiting patiently over 2 weeks for something that I could have been told right away... I would just advise in the future that they communicate and any customers that need a part ordered .. make sure that you follow up so that they can actually keep you in the loop and remind them that you are still there regardless if it is bad news or good news read more

My air conditioner stopped working during the heat wave (heat in excess of 102F) on a 3-day holiday weekend and my house was very hot. After calling other companies with no success, I called Omni around 1:30 pm on Sunday. Not only were they working that day, but a technician (Richard, I think) arrived at my house around 2:30 (his 10th call for the day and he had 5 more, he said), repaired my air conditioner, and left around 3:10. My AC got all weird on me yesterday evening so this morning I searched high and low for a heating and air conditioning service. Found OMNI on Yelp and gave them a call at 6:00am this morning and they sent a technician out at 11:00am this same morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see the awesome 24/7 hours of operation on Yelp. Richard the service technician came to diagnose the problem and it took him less then 30 minutes to replace and fix what was needed. He had shoe covers on before he entered the inside of my home to check thermostat, I thought that was great! Okay, this place is AMAZING!!! I initially found them off of Yelp. I was having issues with my heater I called to set up an appointment and spoke with Stephanie- she was super helpful and scheduled my appointment for the same day. I could not be happier with the service I received. My air conditioning unit stopped blowing cold air, so I called Omni Heating and Air. I know nothing about AC units, so I was terrified that this would be something costly. The technician diagnosed the problem very quickly, which turned out to be a bad "capacitor". The fix was reasonably priced, and now I am saved for the summer! After hearing horror stories about other HVAC companies, it was really nice to see honesty and integrity. The service I got was professional , prompt, and effective . Based on that they would be 5 star. The price gouge killed it for me. I felt at the time the price they gave me was VERY high to replace an AC blower fan. Nobody forced me to give the go-ahead for the work but it was extremely hot and we did not have time to price check. Later talking to a few HVAC companies, Omni was in the ballpark of $300 more. Anthony Gutierrez was AMAZING! I was told he would be here between 12 pm and 2 pm. He showed up just after 11 am. He listened to our explanation of what we were dealing with, found and fixed our initial problem quickly, and when we added on other concerns, he worked to find and eliminate our issue. Once he figured out what was going on with our heating, he ordered the needed part, went to pick it up and was back in about an hour. Then, he installed the needed part and worked with us to make sure everything was working the way we wanted! This during COVID-19 fears! The AC was not working on a rental property and I contacted American Home Shield who in turn contacted Omni Heating and Air. I received a call from Omni within 30-minutes to schedule the service call. They were flexible to come out on the day and time and worked for me. On the day of the scheduled appointment I received a call with a more specific time for the appointment. Noah, the service tech, arrived before I did and he waited. Judging by other reviews of Omni Heating and Air, our experience was not typical. That's the caveat to this review. Our AC went out in early July during record-breaking heat. We found Omni with a Google search and they had availability that day. The Omni technician who came out said we needed a new coil, a job that would cost well over $1,000. Before leaving, he asked to look in the attic as well. After looking around, he said we needed new ducts because our ducts were poorly installed and were not properly insulated. We agreed to that service, which when combined with the coil replacement put the price at over $6,400 (including a discount on the coil service)--a lot, but we were somewhat desperate for functional AC again. To make a long story short, we had four different technicians doing work on at least five different days spread over more than two weeks before the problem was finally fixed. During much of this ordeal, we had to stay with relatives because our house was too hot at night to sleep in. After the replacement of the coil and the installation of the new ducts was complete, our house was still over 85 degrees at night with the AC running nonstop (it was cooler outside). Part of the coil was replaced a second time. When all the repairs were finished this time, the technicians failed to suggest replacing the filter, which, though we had replaced it just before all the work had begun, was completely dirty from attic insulation particles that had blown out during the duct work. The dirty filter caused the system to ice up, and again we had to have Omni technicians come out to fix the system. We bought and installed a new filter and finally started getting consistently cool air. The technicians who did the repairs were often clearly exasperated with the system - there were frequent bumps and bangs followed by loud expletives, which would have been *whatever* except for our young child who was also present. They left dirty smudges on several walls, and over a week later, we still have attic insulation particles being blown out of our AC vents. Those are admittedly little things, but for a job as expensive as this and with as many AC companies as there are in Inland SoCal, we would hope for a company would that be attentive to both the big things and the little things. However, now that it is all said and done, we do have an AC system that is working well. So there's that. read more

Definitely will not recommend this company. I picked them based on the reviews on Yelp. I called for service in August 2017 and at the recommendation of the technician, we paid $2,687 for the leak search with dye and to fix the coil that they said was bad. After a month, the air conditioning unit stopped blowing cold air and called them to check again. This time, another technician said the primary control board was bad and we paid $817.00 plus $99.00 for the trip fee. The aircon did not work and after another technician looked at it, they said another issue came up. After paying close to $4,000, I was not about to trust them to fix the system. It was a total waste of money and I would not trust them and recommend this business. read more

My husband called this company out for repairs to one of our rentals. Prior to the repair, he asked if they had any discounts and was told no. We had the repairs done and the next day I called for a repair for another rental and was informed of the different discounts. I asked if the discounts were just established and I was told no. So, I asked why was my husband and I informed that there were no discounts available the day before. The young lady appear to be shocked and told me she would look into it and call me back and she did. She informed me that the discount was not given because my husband didn't inquire about one. We have used Omni several times and participate in their maintenance program. Our AC was running but not producing cool air, of course during this heat wave. Called Omni and someone came out the next day. After checking everything, we need a new AC. Within minutes we were able to set up financing and the new system was ordered. The next morning the old AC was removed and the new system was set up and running. The employees who answer the phone, their technicians and installers were all courteous, knowledgeable and professional. PANIC on a very chilly Sunday night! Turned up the thermostat and...nothing. I chose Omni because of their high rating and good reviews. Called about 8 pm, they said their tech would be here between 9 & 11, he was here just after 9. The tech was so helpful, he even changed the burnt out light bulb in the laundry room where the furnace is. He explained things as he checked one thing after another and found nothing wrong. Turned out to be a really easy fix...my fault...dirty filters. I was extremely worried and hoped this wouldn't be a "worse case scenario" (an expensive fix or a new furnace). Both the young lady on the phone and the service tech were great. Asked how often I should have the furnace and AC serviced and the tech explained their maintenance program, which I will definitely be signing up for before we get into summer months. Is a Sunday night service fee expensive? Yes, though not as high as I thought it would be, but well worth it so that I didn't stew and worry all night. Thank you, Omni. read more
