The experience here was such a relief that I have finally been inspired to write a review. Chris, the owner, is a relaxed fellow and easy to talk to. He's friendly, very honest, and you'll be hard pressed to find better prices than his in San Antonio. I went in with a pretty bad fender bender (bent the frame and completely destroyed the bumper + other miscellaneous damage). Chris took a quick look at the car, called his supplier for the price of the parts he would need, and quoted me all within 15 minutes - with a VERY fair price that I would have previously thought was impossibly cheap. I asked him if he would honor the quote regardless of whatever other damage he would find and he said yes; and he did. The car was ready after 1 day and he left it in way better condition than I imagined he would (for the price that I paid). The bumper was perfect, the frame was re-aligned, he reattached the headlight, and who knows what else he fixed all for not a penny higher than the quoted price. VERY pleased. Chris will steal your car!! He does not provide proper agreements, invoices, receipts, etc to document the work he is doing on purpose so that he can confuse you and say that he's doing all this other stuff to rake up the charges which was not documented or agreed upon. Then he will hold your car ransom and say you need to pay thousands of dollars more to release your car for work that was not agreed upon. read more

Chris is the worst human being I have ever encountered. This so called mechanic has no ethical nor professional knowledge what so ever. He is a fraud and will give you a false diagnosis and pricing. He will never give you a receipt on the parts or labor and at the end of the day he will ask you for more money to fix an issue without providing a work order nor estimation. This is a second post that I have tried to establish for potential customer awareness. My son drove my vehicle regularly and dropped it off to Chris Parvin of "On the Spot Mechanics". Chris told my son that he could make payment installments to pay for a new engine for a 2015 VW Jetta. My son kept payment screenshots proving the accumulated payment of $4000+. Chris first promised my son that the car would be ready in May 2022, then promised me that the car would be completed and returned in April 2023. Lastly, he promised my wife that he would make it right also. Chris Parvin no longer answers nor returns my or my wife's calls, and because I am a disabled veteran, living in New Orleans, LA I have no way to formally initiate a police report until I am physically in San Antonio. It takes a special kind of thief to rip off so many customers, as based on the attached negative reviews. How they still get business after cheating so many, they prey on their customers' misfortune. Please Everyone take the time to read this may I burn in he'll for this if it's not true about 5 years ago my car broke down on me the wiring harness at the time i didn't know much so i called Chris explained what happened he told me it was no problem easy fix he was a mastert mechanic so a couple days later I went to the shop drop of the keys talk to Chris made arrangements for him to pick up the car a few days later Chris picked up the car I got a call from Chris telling me that the car was going to be ready later on that day and explained what he did to the and what the charge was well when I got to the shop he told me I needed a new radiator so I went out and got no problem went back the next Chris came out saying now I need a new motor I told him I didn't have that kind of money Chris told no problem he could wait a little time cuz he had a lot of work he told you could leave the car here I won't charge you anything I want to help you out it won't be a problem we'll about two months pass by Chris called saying also I was going to need a transmission a couple if months ago I have put in a motor and transmission on I explained to Chris that couldn't be cris told me if I didn't have the money to fix he would buy from me I told him no I would get the money finally I got the money I paid him to get me a motor and transmission time passed by I keep on calling every time I spoke to Chris he would I don't have time to go to the junkyard to make a long story short he never fix my car and I never got it back again and he keep my money everything I went over he would you would threaten me and said you was going to cut cops and that it was my fault cuz I took too long to get the money he has no hard no consideration for nobody all he wanted to do is keep my car what she did and kept my money I have receipts to prove it and see the day and never got my car back he is fried and don't take it your car to him I try to find him but nothing was done he knows what he does wrong and he got away with it at least that's what he thinks he's not being intimidated by him and do not be scared he came to have biker friends well this time we really mess with the wrong person I don't forgive and forget and he knows who this is Frank the white Honda Civic I'll see you around Chris I won't let it go I will see Justice one day read more

I see rave reviews and I see stories like mine. I'm confident I know what's going on with my car, but I don't have the tools to fix it so I wanted to take it in. Asked the guy who answered the phone, Chris, if he could help me out and I was told "take it somewhere else" after I asked what the $45 diagnosis would entail and he hung up on me. Shockingly poor management. They need someone else answering calls. Chris may very well know his stuff but he was a miserable person to interact with. read more

A guy named Chris answered the call. I asked him three questions regarding an issue with my truck because I'm not a mechanic. I asked if he was familiar with the problem, how much he charged for a diagnosis, and what the service typically costs. He proceeds to say "call someone else, I don't want to do business with anyone that asks so many questions." He then hung up on me. I called back to ask to speak to management and he said he was the owner. I advised him that he is handling business incorrectly and he says "come to my shop and I'll show you." He threatened me. Smh I would hate to do business with someone like this and I suggest no one else do business with someone with such an attitude. From his response, it is clear he doesn't approve his customers. Oh, I worry about leaving a rave review here, as On the Spot is already busy ... You know how people say how great it is when you're treated like family? Depends on your family, right? Taking a car to On the Spot is like visiting your favorite uncle. Chris runs a detail-oriented shop and is quick to report on what ails your vehicle. Prices are very fair and spelled out up front. When I decided to sell my current vehicle, I made sure to talk it over with Chris first. He has worked for dealerships, so he clued me in to what to look for. IF YOU WANT THE COPS CALLED ON YOU GO HERE! Beware of this place!!! Beware of Chris!! He is a fraud!! The only way you can leave with your car once it's done is to pay with cash regardless of what he tells you because he is a liar and a fraud. If I could give this guy negative 5 stars I would. First off we had an initial agreement that he went back on the second I came to pick up my car. He said that he could do over the phone payments and than he told me that because I was 30 mins past the time, he went back on that word and on top of that he called he cops on me.....a customer! For no reason except for the fact that because I was not aware that he had an event to go to (because he didn't tell me) I am no longer trust worthy. Make sure you text with this guy or get something in writing because if not he will try and use everything against you and try to get cash because he is not a legit business owner. Great auto repair shop. Chris is awesome and worked with me to get my car fixed right. My Mazda 5 needed both front and rear shocks, done on two separate visits, both in a timely manner so I was only without my car for a few hours at a time. When these repairs were done and my car was still rattle-y, Chris did some diagnostics free of charge to figure it out and after the third time in the shop it's better than it had been for a year! Cant believe the honesty of this ppl. They not only fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes (TPMS), but advised me on a couple of other 'issues' with no pressure to fix now scheme...
