Great spot for some Pizza, calzones, pasta and more. Family owned and operated shows with excellent service and a great food.

The pizza is good but the staff is very unprofessional. Wait staff was arguing with eachother, yelling at eachother over tables. The hostess was wrapping silverware into napkins and touched her face several times, including her nose. When we asked the manager how sanitary that was he rudely responded "is that a question or statement?" We won't be eating here any longer. read more

Probably one of the best places to get pizza in Lubbock. Have been going here for years and years and always leave satisfied. Calzones are a must- always cooked perfectly- just crispy enough on the outside and so cheesy and saucy on the inside- delicious. One of my first stops when coming back to Lubbock. I always get the garlic bread with cheese and a pepperoni calzone. The service is hit and miss but the food is always perfect so it's worth it. If I'm taking it to go I always call ahead, I've never had a bad experience with it, and my food is always ready when I get there. I don't like that they charge $.50 for a side of ranch but whatever. I used to eat at the original location on University back in the 1980s. When we recently moved back to Lubbock I was thrilled to see that One Guy is not only still here, but now in two locations! Love the atmosphere at the 50th Street restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. The calzones are awesome, just like I remember. I have loved this place for years. However, when I brought a friend from out of town with a severe allergy there was not a SINGLE menu item that was gluten friendly- not even the salads or salad dressing. The employees were not well educated about ingredients or food prep methods. They sarcastically said they could bring a plate of plain lettuce. I wasn't expecting many options but was disappointed as I even called ahead of time and asked. Good place overall but sorely frustrated that while our group of 15 ate, my friend got to sit and watch. May be the best pizza and calzone ever! My husband and I have had our favorite pizza place(pizza king, longview, TX) for over 25 years and this may top that one. Ordered delivery two days in a row! Teen boys loved it! Wonderful crust with great flavor! Toppings are great! Calzone is to die for! Staff was not overly friendly but they did their job. don't really understand the high review in this place.. the only thing that was decently yummy were the calzones. fettuccini was flavorless, served with way too much sauce, ravioli had weird cheese inside that tasted pretty bad as well. the service was very friendly and attentive but don't think i'll be returning. read more

Let me start off by saying that I've been a loyal customer for decades. I started eating here in high school and college at TTU ON University. It is almost an addiction. The last two times I've been in I've been terribly disappointed in both the waitstaff and with the side items. Today I had a house salad and bruschetta. With the exception of one waitress who has been there for some time, I did not see a single employee who acted or appeared as if they wanted to be there. The kindest description would be to call them joyless. My salad was okay if slightly wilted but the bruschetta was swimming in oil and balsamic and the toast pieces were so soggy it fell apart like white bread soaked in milk for an hour. The restaurant seemed a bit untidy and things really needed to be straightened up. Most of the employees were either sitting down or standing against the wall with only two of the waitstaff appearing to be actually breathing. I realize this is informal dining but one would like something besides a zombie to wait on you. Please get your act together. Lubbock is a very unforgiving place for restaurants. read more

I love the food and atmosphere of this restaurant but I would much rather go to the University location, even though it is more inconvenient. Every time I come into the 50th St. location I feel that the girl running the cash register ruins the entire experience with her unfriendly manner. She never seems to try and crack a smile and almost never thanks me for my business. read more

Disappointed! My husband raved about how delicious their calzones are so I figured the rest must be just as good. I was wrong! I ordered the chicken parmigiana as my main entree and it came with either a soup or salad. I got the chicken and rice soup. The soup tasted like it came out of a can, Campbell's soup to be exact. I couldn't bring myself to eat it. When I got my entree, the sauce also looked like it came out of a can and the chicken tasted and looked like those cheap banquet chicken patties from the frozen section. I sent it back and my husband asked to have it removed from our ticket. The waitress asked if I wanted anything else but after getting two crappy dishes, I didn't want to risk getting a third. Don't waste your money here, instead go to Walmart and you get everything I mentioned for a fraction of the cost. Seems like the only thing worth eating here is the pizza and calzone. read more

Stopped in a for a quick bite today. My daughter goes to school here in Lubbock and always talks about this place. It did not disappoint! I ordered the Supreme Calzone and she got the traditional. It was the best calzone I've ever had! Cheesy and fresh ingredients. The crust was really good too. We missed the lunch specials, but the prices are still very reasonable. I haven't ever eaten at this location before. The server that we had was good but the last time I ate at the original location the Calzones were awesome. This location not so much. There was way too much Italian sausage in them and not enough pepperoni. This location is not recommended for Calzones. read more

Just tried your restaurant, we got three calzone as a take out. My boy friends and son were great or so they said. They had the meat calzones. I ordered the build your own with Canadian bacon, black olives, and pineapple; I'm was almost all dough and what little fillings there was were mostly black olives there was maybe 5-6 pieces of meat. And absolutely no cheese at all. When I asked for cheese and the waitress asked if I wanted extra cheese cause it already came with cheese, I said no just the regular amount will work. Due to lack of not draining the juices of the toppings the pocket were the fillings are was so soggy and the dough on the inside of the pocket was not even cooked it was raw dough it caused it to break apart. The calzone looks huge, I was so excited because I have heard nothing but amazing things, but I'm so disappointed for the fact I just paid $7.50 for pretty much a over size bread stick with a raw dough pouch with hardly any meat and about a can of black olives. read more

Nope. They say they deliver but not out of their "boundaries". We stayed a few blocks from them, with a football team who had a decent sized order. And the foodies on the team wanted a local place ( nothing else to do but eat around here). This place asked for our address, promptly said no. I can't add much to the numerous excellent reviews, but I do highly recommend this place. I just moved here and so far this has been my favorite restaurant to find in Lubbock. I have enjoyed the classic calzone, a cheese only calzone, lasagna, and their ceasar salad. All were yummy! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. ONLY GO TO THE ONE ON UNIVERSITY. unless of coarse you like horrible service, managers who don't care about their customers in the slightest, and food that takes at least 30 minutes to come out. Also, the only food that is great is the pizza and calzones, the pasta you can get anywhere and it will taste the same as anywhere else. Although the pizza and calzones are the best thing on the menu, they are nowhere near as good as the versions from the University location, and they are definitely not worth waiting 45 minutes for. I have currently been waiting for my food for over 45 minutes, I am surrounded by four empty tables, two of which emptied because the waitress couldn't get their drink orders while they wait to even order their 45 minute calzone. I repeat, do not give service to a business that has absolutely no interesy in serving you quality food in an even emotely professional manner. read more
