We got 3 appetizers and 3 sushi rolls for about $70. It took over half an hour to get our food. This was around 6:30 PM on Friday, so they were busy, but that's a long time to wait for a place that primarily specializes in takeout and delivery. And they were cranking out those to-go orders, to the point where it felt like they were deprioritizing the dining room. The food was decent. Sushi was well-made and fresh. Takoyaki and seaweed salad were run-of-the-mill, and edamame came out cold. The brown sugar bubble tea was watery and unpleasant. They were running a two-for-one special on th tea, so I wasn't expecting much, but I would've preferred to drink tap water. I have a soft spot for One More Sushi Express because it was actually one of the first places I tried when I moved to Chicago. I found it on Yelp (of course) while staying at a hotel, ordered it on a whim, and immediately loved it. Later, I found out it's literally right across the street from my apartment..which made it even better! It's not a fancy spot, but the food is consistently so good. I usually order takeout, and it's honestly perfect for that. My order is almost always ready early (like 5 minutes ahead of time), which I really appreciate. Super convenient when you just want to grab your food and go. Everything I've tried has been delicious, the spicy tofu, avocado roll, miso soup, edamame, udon, ramen... all amazing. You really can't go wrong here. The customer service is always good too, and the staff is friendly when I go in to pick up my order. I recently tried their boba for the first time (matcha with coffee, I think?) and it was surprisingly so good, very flavorful and not overly sweet, which I loved. It's located in Little Italy, surrounded by other great restaurants and bars, but this one has definitely become one of my go-to spots. This place is sooo Midwest sushi coded it's adorable!! We're nowhere near the ocean with fresh seafood, but this is as good it gets here!! I tried their spicy tuna poke bowl, which comes with a VERY healthy serving of white rice, avocado, corn, imitation crab, cucumbers, pickled radish, masago, and lots and lots of spicy tuna. The rice was a bittt too tangy because of the vinegar for my preference, but they were very generous with the spicy tuna. It was so fragrant, especially when they first brought the bowl out. First visit to this spot on Taylor near UIC medical center. Orange Lime Tea was refreshing and tasty. Got 50% sugar level and it was plenty sweet. They have a pretty big menu that includes sushi, rice dishes, chicken dishes and dumplings. Tried a bunch of their rolls. Their take on a Cali roll has the crab ripped and shredded. They make a spicy version too. Tuna and avocado is one of my fav combos and they have a good one. The amount of tuna in the roll isn't a lot....its more avocado, but I'm not mad at that for the price. The SailerMoon roll is great too. Fried shrimp with shredded imitation crab and cream cheese. With tempura flakes on top. The seaweed salad had chunks of pineapple and I'm pretty sure a little pineapple juice. It's a really nice addition to the traditional seaweed salad. The sushi is delicious, I most especially like their deep fried rolls like the Godzilla roll in my picture as well as the volcano roll. The smoothie tasted so refreshing and you could definitely tell they used high quality fruit. The consistency of the boba was perfect as well.
