We waited about 5 minutes for a table for two on a Friday night around 7:45pm. The ambiance is soso and the restaurant is kind of small. The price of the sushi is cheap $1.45 for a piece of regular sushi for example: salmon, aji, hamachi, etc. The roll cost $4 for four small pieces but I don't think it worth for the price. My husband ordered a beef over rice bowl and he said it taste good but not much beef in it but it only cost $5 for a small bowl with lots of rice. I ordered a spicy tuna handroll which the seaweed paper is not crispy anymore and not much spicy tuna in it. The best that I have eaten so far is the seared salmon and the salmon belly nigini ($2.45 a piece). However, all the sushi rice is too firm. Overall is OK will definitely come back for a quick cheap sushi dinner. read more

If you're expecting two pieces for one order don't! They do as their name says: ONE PIECE! It isn't all you can eat and you really just get one piece for about $1.50 per depending on what kind of fish you order. Definitely not something I'm used to but it wasn't too bad! You order on an iPad and it comes out as you order. If you are the type to want to know what you're eating, don't order too much at once because you aren't going to remember! I really liked that they had the option of sashimi for the same price (usually it costs more) and they give a huge piece! Downside is location, lack of parking is always a downer for me. I've finally found my go to sushi spot near SFO! One Piece Sushi has great sushi, good ambience, good location, with easy parking. The fish seemed fresh, had great texture, and flavor. The tablet ordering is convenient and fun, it does give you the option to split the tab when you cash out. Oh my god. I love this place. The servers are extremely friendly and constantly checking on you to make sure everyone is satisfied. My boyfriend and I came in at 9:20pm and thought they closed at 10pm (thanks yelp) but it was actually 9:30pm. They welcomed us and said that it was okay and to take our time. WHO DOES THAT? No snobby or annoyed attitude. No turning us away. If that isn't customer service, than I don't know what is. Everything is fresh. I don't know what the bad reviews are about. I frequent many sushi establishments and this by far is probably top 10 for me. Everything is affordable. Some items could be a bit small but for the price, I can't complain. I always get the chirashi bowl and salmon bowl as well as the scallop, salmon, seared salmon, and smoked salmon nigiri's. Oh and a tekka and hamachi maki. Love that they're open the whole day and not like most Japanese restaurants where they're closed from 3pm - 5pm. I am really happy they opened. They possess everything I look for in a restaurant. NOTE: Service will be slow during a busy night. My initial impression wasn't very good because we waited a long time for our food but they did just open a few weeks ago. The tablet ordering system seems clunky at first. But once I got the hang of it it worked beautifully. I was able to place my initial order and subsequent items after the initial order was not enough. Wait seemed impossibly long but rotated through quickly enough. Prices were really good. One could spend more and get less at plenty of places. Selection was quite good. Not every single neo sushi creation ever but a decent representation. Other items like udon available like you would expect. They even had takoyaki!!! I didn't order it this time; perhaps another day. Ambiance was not really a consideration. Nothing to see here. Strictly functional space. Fine with me. Clientele was in no small part made up of families. Lots of little kids. Strangely all well behaved. Would definitely go again. I love that this place is open between the hours of 2p and 5p. This has to be the only sushi restaurant open at these times. The sushi was delicious- actually, the salmon sashimi, all 5 different kinds that I had, was delicious. Sashimi pieces were maybe $1.50 each. I had the regular sake sashimi, smoked sake, and seared sake- seared was by far my favorite. I'll likely order 10 pieces next time. I also had the salmon belly (phenomenal) and tuna and hamachi belly. I wasn't too excited with the latter two but each piece was maybe $2.50. FYI the price of fatty tuna in SF is about $6 each. Been here twice now and had great experiences both times. I love how you can order by piece which helps mitigate the over ordering from AYCE sushi and under-ordering from expensive rolls. Found this little hidden gem recently close by my neighborhood. I was little skeptical at first, but it turned out to be a pretty good overall experience. It's not fancy stuff, but for the money you can't beat the quality. If you want good sushi and not burning a hole in your wallet, this is the place for you. I am a sushi snob and that's saying a lot when I say "extremely fresh" My favorite was definitely the Walu. A great concept for a Japanese / sushi restaurant. Each table is given a tablet with menu items and orders are put in directly. I would recommend going with a small group or just a friend or you'll all be waiting for your turn to swipe through the menu items. The shashmi slices were VERY generous and a great bang for buck. I didn't veer past the usual tuna and salmon (salmon belly was great) but everything seemed fresh. Some items did seem to be over priced comparatively - edamame for example. The hamachi Kama was probably the biggest disappointment, good size / price but the skin was soft and not crispy like it traditionally is.
