First...when it comes to specialized jobs, take it to the specialist that know the ins n outs of their craft. Our AC went out on our 2014 Sienna with 55k miles on it...we took it to our mechanic of 7+ years who is great at what he does, general mechanic work...but the AC he couldnt figure out...we need our van for the family and I found Leo and his team on Yelp. They took it in at 10am and had it repaired and done by 5pm. Compressor, condensor, expansion relay, chemical flush and it was blowing even better than before. Leo and his team were very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and confident in their work and expertise. Thanks Mike. We truly appreciate their prompt work and customer service. My air conditioning was taking too long to get cold. So I went to these guys to have the coolant drained and replaced. They quoted me a reasonable price for the service so I told them to do it. They drained the coolant and told me they had tested the system and I had a leak somewhere. I asked for an explaination of how my AC could have worked fine before the service but now had a leak all of a sudden. He didn't have one. I told him to just fill it up with the coolant (as we had originally agreed to), and to put some dye in it to pinpoint the leak location (if there was one). There was no leak! Most likely faulty equipment. This would have needlessly costed me at least $100 dollars extra for the service in order to find the leak. I didn't even get an apology. 7/31/2020 Follow-up - After being contacted by them afterwards, I received an apology in subsequent conversations, and was told that they have asked the company that they got their machine from to "recalibrated" it. It's been 6 days now and my AC is still working fine. read more

I have an old 1988 Mercedes 560SL and wasn't sure any mechanic would want to take it in to diagnose my broken A/C. Sent here as recommended by Hrant. Had my Prius V towed to this place to get it checked. Received a call later from Leo quoting me $4800 to change the hybrid batteries and replace the fuel pump. $4800???!!! Least to say I had the car towed back home. Paid the $100 "diagnostic fee" which I feel is another rip off. Glad to get my car out of that shop. Addendum: had my car fixed at another local repair shop. Ended up paying way less than what this place was quoting me for. They charged me for diagnostic fees that probably was never done. Probably just gave me a guesstimate. No error codes provided. All the dashboard and GPS screen lights went out one day. I took my car to Hrants who directed me here. They said the wires needed to be fixed and it would be a couple thousand dollars. They drove me to a car rental place so I would have a car to go to work. They called me to say that in fixing the car, the odometer now indicated lower mileage. After I paid and picked up the car, I noticed that in fact, they had replaced the odometer with another (used) one. It had a different frame from mine. Anyway some of the indicator lights weren't working so I brought back the car the same day. They said, oh, we were able to fix your odometer and I found that my original one was put back. Michael and Leo are a great team who rally care about their customers. I spoke more with Michael, who came up to my car as I pulled into the lot. I explained to him that the AC in my '09 Honda Civic was going on and off for about a year before it stopped working (only hot air was blowing). There is a $100 charge to figure out what's wrong with your AC, but it's waived if you end up fixing it with them. I was recently laid off from my job and Mike and Leo worked together to work with my budget. They were able to replace the AC clutch instead of replacing the entire compressor. This review is long overdue but their good service compelled me to write this review. I had a an older Volvo whose air conditioning was no longer working. After a while, I frankly got used to it but their are some of those days when we all just die in the S. Cal heat. Anyway, after calling around, I took it in to One Stop, the owner checked out the car, suggested that a part could be repaired and gave me a quote of about $1000 versus the $1500 (approximately) for a replacement of the failing part. He attempted the repair, but the part was no good so, on his own, got the replacement new part. When I came to get the car, he told me what happened and I expected to be asked to pay for the new part and he honored his original quote. SUCH A RARE AND COMMENDABLE amount of integrity and honor AND, now 4 years later as the heat is picking up again, my A/C runs strong and cold! These guys are GREAT! read more

Edit: Owner just called me threatening to press charges for writing this review and told me that writing it was threatening him, so I changed "fight them" to "argue with them" to more accurately convey my meaning in case it was unclear. Misdiagnosed my problem, did $2,000 of work my car didn't need, didn't do work they claimed to have done. My 06 Pathfinder wouldn't start and I suspected an electrical malfunction so I took it here. They diagnosed the problem and did ~$2,000 of work. The car drove away, but 1 day later wouldn't start again. This time I took it to another mechanic who diagnosed a transmission issue and told me the diagnosis at One Stop was ridiculous (it was a single fuse [#10] at most, but probably 100% a transmission issue). The car has now been working for 2 months after the second mechanic. I later lost my keys while hiking and had my wife bring all 3 spares; none of them would start the car even though One Stop told me they reprogrammed them all (which they billed me for) after replacing my electrical system. I called them about this today to see if they would reprogram the spare keys and first they didn't remember the work from 2 months ago, then they tried to pass the buck saying they don't program keys they contract that out, then they said I would need my invoice showing exactly how many keys were reprogrammed (the invoice just says "keys" not a specific number, although I explicitly remember them claiming to reprogram 3 sets total because I couldn't find the 4th set until their work was complete and the owner's response was "3 is enough how many sets of keys do you need?"). Worth noting I have been extremely nice with these people in person, nothing rude, no complaining, just happy to pay for their time and move on to be done with them - they have been given no reason to be hostile or dismissive, and yet they won't do the work they were already paid to do after it became apparent they never did it. I decided to review them instead of argue with them because it's the best outcome I could hope for at this point: it's $10/key to get them reprogrammed at a locksmith so I'll gladly pay $30 to be done with this place forever, the parts were only half the cost of the original work and there's nothing wrong with the parts they installed, my car simply didn't need them or the $2,000 bill that came with them, and I don't want their mechanics working for free, so I don't want my money back; the best outcome for me is to share my experience and hope that I can save someone else from stepping into this catastrophe. read more

My key was stuck in my ignition and it wasn't coming out. I went to a lock and key place on Washington and they were able to remove my key but explained the wiring in my shifter most likely needed to be replaced as well as a part in my ignition and that a mechanic needed to fix it. They referred me to Hrant Auto Services and Hrant referred me to One Stop. When I arrived I explained to the worker (don't remember his name -- it wasn't Leo) about what was going on with my car. He looked at it for a few minutes and explained I had two options, 1.) leave it all day for a diagnostic check for $100 in order to see what would need to be fixed or 2.) have whatever needed to be fixed replaced and they would waive the diagnostic fee. I asked for a ball park price on what it would be costing me "$300, $500, $1000, $1500?". He said he had no idea and then threw out a few guesses on what the problem could be and what I would most likely need fixed. I said I would do just do the diagnostic test for $100 to see what was wrong and how much it would ACTUALLY cost. Once I said I would rather do the diagnostic he completely flipped and got really pushy explaining I needed to have all this stuff fixed and how much time and labor it would take them to do the diagnostic. I explained I'm not just going to agree to have my car fixed when I don't know how much anything would be costing. He then said they were actually (all of a sudden) really busy today and I would just need to call tomorrow. LOL. Anyways, another story about a mechanic trying to take advantage of someone who they think doesn't know any better. I ended up taking my car to Spence and Frye down the street. I arrived and explained my situation, they said no problem and took my car right away. They told me how much the new part would cost me and that they would call if anything else needed to be done/replaced as well as give me an updated price. Ultimately, I ended up needing a new shifter as well. They fixed my car for a reasonable and honest price and I didn't feel like I was being finagled the entire time. read more

My ten year old minivan's AC died. :( My mechanic told me the refrigerant level was good and that it was probably the compressor (also told me it would be north of $1700). My mechanic, like most mechanics and many dealers, doesn't mess with big AC jobs. So I went to yelp for help. Luckily, there is a guy in Pasadena who does only AC. Turns out is was the compressor. Leo keeps his shop well stocked. He also does the job right -- original Honda parts, also changes out the condenser, chemically flushes the system, new seals. $1400! Hundreds less than what my mechanic said it would be. It sucks to have an expensive repair but it was cheaper than what it could be and, most important, it was done right. Also... I have brought a Subaru Outback to Leo for concerns over my AC system being weak. I found it have been fair to pay for his service to diagnose if anything was wrong with it. However he did not find anything wrong and he did not accept a payment. Wonderful service! Leo is honest and professional. He quoted us at a price and stayed true to it. It was a bit expensive, but considering the problem was a little motor deep inside Prius dashboard, we saved a ton of money. He had no air coming out of the main vents in the car, resulting in our daughter overheating in the back as the cool air could not reach to the back. They had to take it all apart and back together again. The dealership quoted us triple the price. I walked into One Stop Auto based on a referral from Hrant in Pasadena. I was having issues with my A/c in my car and thought it might need some recharge/freon. I go to pick up my car and they assessed my a/c in my car, should be 500 for a temporary fix of my expansion valve and 800 for a permanent fix. That was more than I wanted to spend and I didn't like how pushy they were and how they treated me. So I took my car to another mechanic for a second opinion. Turns out my expansion valve was not broken and all I needed was freon. Total cost $40 for a freon recharge. I saved over $450 by taking my car elsewhere. Bottom line One Stop Auto in my experience is going to try to swindle you. If they tried it once to me, they might do it to you. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more
