One Stop is my number one for the same reasons many others come here: honest, knowledgeable countermen, great pricing and the ability to get the parts. It's not in stock? Is two hours OK with you? Impossible-to-get stuff takes four days in my experience. To me this store is a refreshing change from those conceived by a room full of MBAs, and they can give solutions that don't interest corporate MBAs. I do know *one* chain store with the green logo that repeatedly impresses me with their competency and depth. But One Stop can give you choices and tell you how they're likely to turn out. They can get unusual stuff, maybe beat eBay prices and be reliable at the same time. Sure, image is important but if you peer over the counter back in the aisles you may be able to see considerably higher organization and cleanliness than in front. For bored-looking guys, I suspect that if you and I knew we would both be amazed at the dollar volume these low-key total professionals turn. It's almost always one or two phone calls away - because they know who to call. And those old things in the yellowed packaging? They don't make a lot of that stuff anymore, particularly the specialized tools and if you can use it, it's gold. I have to admit that I'm old school - my first real job was in a jobber like this one many decades ago. There aren't many treasures like this left. So relax; ask and listen to what they tell you and ask some more if you need to. You don't need to be perfect, if you want a "10" fuse maybe something about what kind of car it fits and what year would help you both succeed.They *are* friendly if you be, too, and they might even come alive if you ask nicely for their advice or recommendation that will be backed by mondo experience. If you have a car it is likely you'll be back - why not introduce yourself? And yes, I've stood at the counter for what seemed like forever while they took the time needed to solve someone else's problem, but I knew I'd get the same attention if I needed it. And while I was waiting I picked up a trade mag and learned about current tech on alternator overrun pulleys, another time found a tool I needed and they had the best price. No, I'm not still in the auto trade, just a geek with some old cars I'm very fond of. And anytime we undertake a repair on anything, isn't it always against all odds? Extremely rude and disrespectful. Called to check the availability of a part and was hung up on in the midst of asking a question. I called back and was asked what did I want and told he hung up because he didn't have an answer and still hung up on again when I was in the midst of a conversation . Went in person to speak to the manager, manager showed no signs of care, was unresponsive and no help at all. Extremely disappointed in the customer service and felt discriminated against unheard and disrespected. Do not spend money here. read more

These guys are helpful, cool and will help you figure things out. They have excellent pricing and what they don't have they can get for you in a couple of hours or a couple of days. They don't have online purchasing so go down there and actually talk to a human. read more

This has to be the oldest auto parts store ever, the relics behind the counter go hand in hand with the old musty items for "sale". Not that you would know if anything was for sale if it's not in a box it def doesn't have a price tag, I'm writing this review waiting for one of these old dudes to stop flashing back. I need some oil and they have the kind I need but there's no prices on anything and nobody to help me. Mom and pops ? Independent, old-school auto parts store. Counter service, informative, helpful; yeah sometimes they seem grumpy, but they are happy to help you figure out what you need. They have good stock on common items - headlights, batteries, water pumps, alternators, etc. - but can get nearly anything pretty quickly (possibly same day). Go in, don't be intimidated by the dusty shelves and stoic faces, wait patiently to talk with one of the counter folks; you'll be surprised by the reasonable prices and knowledgeable, friendly service. For an independent, their pricing is amazing, and often beats the other corporate chain stores, especially on quality vs. cost. Only drawbacks - hours are tough for working folks (8:30am - 5pm M-Sa), and a small parking lot. At least they're open Saturday. Bonus - there's an auto repair shop in the parking lot (literally adjoining), if you need it. read more

This place is tired and worn out. The shelves are nearly bare. There are abandoned vehicles in the parking lot. The stock on pegboards is dusty often with plastic packaging turned yellow by the passage of time. The employees look tired also. Nice. Knowledgeable. But tired, perhaps tired of saying "we'd have to order that". Really this place caters only to people with older domestic vehicles trying to keep them running against all odds. While I yearn for an alternative to the apathy, sterility and cheaper-than-reasonable quality at Kragen/O'Reiley, that's where I made my second stop. Maybe I'll try CarQuest next time. read more

A very good example of what auto parts stores used to be in the days before the franchise stores like O'Rielly or Kragen. The only other auto parts counter I can think of that is as good is San Pablo Automotive in San Pablo. I've been buying parts and tune up supplies for 15 years from One Stop and they've always done me right. I don't care too much about the dusty shelves it's the fact that they always get the right part at a good price. Sure, sometimes they have to order it but it's usually there pretty fast (sometimes in an hour) and that beats ordering from some internet giant like Rock Auto where you'll probably get a busted open box and broken part. The offhanded customer service has always been a whatever non-issue for me but I did have an experience today that irritated me so much that I'm knocking off a star for this review. I ordered and paid for a CV joint driveshaft in the morning and was told it would be in the store in an hour. I had some errands to run so I came back to pick it up at around 2:30. I guess everyone goes to lunch at the same time because there was one guy holding down the counter. The phone was ringing off the hook and I felt bad for him. He looked right at me and said "can I help you" and I said "yeah I'm here to get my part" held up my receipt and stepped up to the counter. He then ignored me and answered another phone call. Meanwhile my groceries are sitting in the car, milk heating up, ice cream melting, etc. Maybe the phone doesn't have a hold button. Maybe they normally have 2 or 3 guys at the counter at lunch. I dunno, everyone has off days. Generally these guys are right on the money. read more

Service was excellent. I was able to get a very decent price for brake pads and rotors $40/axel. I was also desperate to get my brakes done, so I asked the parts guy and he said next door do it for $90! Eureka! My previous mechanics average $260 everything, parts+installation. I saved $75 and I could have save more because the rotors were fine! $20/axle savings + $30 charged to place them. You do the math! ;-) read more

I have gotten a lot of very helpful professional advice from these guys. They have a good reputation with the locals. I live very nearby and know. A good reputation with the locals is always a good sign because these local mechanics and other folks know them for years. They are very nice and helpful and often are able to get parts that other big stores cannot get. They didn't even make me pay in advance to order parts. The store is small but don't be deceived by that. They are very knowledgeable and can get you the parts you need most of the time. I feel grateful to live here and be able to shop with these guys. I've been going to this place for over 20 years. The folks are knowledgeable and helpful. When no one else has the part, these guys can find it. Many of the items i've wanted over the years are to unusual to be locally stocked, but they have gotten me 99.999% of anything i've asked for. I read the pissee comments about shelves and dust. This is not a boutique, it's a car parts store. Jeeez! I recommend these guys unequivocally. And i know that they supply parts to the local repair shops- that has to say something. read more

I love this place and I have been going here for many years. Nice guys, low-key and easy-going, knowledgeable. Yep, I do have an old ('86) Toyota truck, and for all the routine stuff I need for do-it-yourself repairs, they always have the part at a price that is less than anywhere else. This is my favorite auto parts place. The prices are good, they often have parts the chain store places do not and they are very knowledgeable for advice on diagnostics and "how to" questions. I have more then once looked online and found it more economical to get it at One Stop Auto. Being your own mechanic you are always looking for the best part for the lowest price. The quality is always available here if you know what to ask for and if you don't it will always be better then O'rielly's or Pet Boys. Okay, I see other Yelper's are afraid of a little dust. I will gladly trade the cleaner shelves of big box auto parts stores for the knowledge at One Stop. Time and time again Kragen / O'rielly's has given me the wrong part or just do not stock what I need because they do not make enough profit by carrying it. If I have a question they're helpful staff answer it. They take the time to find the right part for my "vintage" car needs. I can not recall the times I explain a problem and hear: "What kind of car is it again, Oh, yeah, it's the _ _ _ _ _, they always go out on that car, here you go!" And it works! They have even lent me simple tools for a few minutes so I can see if the part is a proper replacement. Having lost money and faith in the big chain auto parts stores like Kragen, now O'rielly's, it is a relief to find an independent auto parts store still around. My personal experience was great with this company. I purchased the headlight control switch for my chevy express conversion van, RIPOFF Autozone and oriely's was selling for $119.95 . These guy only charged me $19.95 with the shipping on ebay. It was OEM part. I just put it in my van and everything works as supposed to be. I don't this these guys made even $10 after pay all the fees to eBay and Paypal and shipping cost plus the time. Very great deal. read more

Little ceremony, little display, no cleaners come in at night to polish everything. But the service is fast, the counter people extremely knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Went out to my car to determine the wipers I needed, then helped me get the old ones off and new ones on. Made sure I had what I needed and at the lowest price. Like a good, rural parts store. I had a great experience at One Stop Auto Parts today! One of my rear lights was out, but given that I don't usually see my own car being driven from behind, I needed help figuring out which bulb to replace. Jack came right out and helped me troubleshoot. The cost of the new bulb was significantly less than what I've paid in "big box" stores. I also picked up a new fuel filter, for about $10 less than I usually pay. Contrary to what I read in an earlier review, One Stop does stock parts for foreign cars. I drive a 2001 VW Golf TDI (diesel), for which parts can be hard to find. I'll be back! read more
