She is an incredible dentist; kind, thorough, and someone I have trusted with my care for many years. I would recommend her without hesitation. 5 stars for her! Unfortunately, my recent experience was disappointing due to billing/insurance. Prior to my most recent visits, I would call to make an appointment and no one would answer, I finally left a voicemail and the call was returned days later. During my last visit for a cleaning, I scheduled a major procedure for the following weeks and specifically requested that a copy of the cost estimate be emailed to me. The email was never sent. I later received a text to confirm the upcoming appointment and replied asking for someone to call me. No one did. I then called the office myself and left a message. When my call was eventually returned, I again asked about the estimate and clearly requested that it be emailed to me. I still never received it, it was only verbally provided. After switching insurance plans, I discovered that Dr. Ocampo is no longer in-network with my current insurance, which explained the very high estimate I was quoted. I compared costs with in-network providers and found a significant difference. Had I not followed up on my own and requested the estimate, I could have unknowingly paid a large out-of-network cost. I called back to confirm and was extremely disappointed in the woman's response and tone. While I continue to have the utmost respect for Dr. Ocampo, the lack of communication and follow-through regarding billing and insurance information is concerning. I rely on transparency and this completely fell short of my experience.

It's been a while since I've been there, but speaking with other patients of hers, makes me realize she does this to a lot of people. My kids have always been very receptive to going and look forward to the price they get to choose at the end. I really like bringing them here because they're very equipped for working with kids, both just the environment, but also how the staff interacts with the kids. The dentist we've seen have all been great at communicating and sharing any concerns. We recently started using the orthodontics Services with my older daughter, getting braces. That all has gone really well and the payment plan that they offer is very reasonable. I couldn't be happier with My Kids Dentist. I was quoted $800 for a root canal by Heather in the front office. The next week after the procedure I was told suddenly the price had changed to $1,088. This left me confused and frustrated, as I had agreed to the original price. When I tried to address the issue with Heather over the phone, she was incredibly rude and dismissive. She interrupted me repeatedly and wouldn't let me explain my situation. Ultimately, she hung up on me, which was very unprofessional and added to my stress. Now, I'm still in pain and unsure if the root canal was performed properly. I no longer feel comfortable returning to this office, so I'm seeking treatment elsewhere. It's disheartening that a previously positive experience turned into such a negative one due to poor communication and customer service. My husband tried to address this with both dentists as well and they weren't interested. It's a shame they are losing myself and my husband and our 3 children as customers over this one experience.
