My dental insurance was never sent the preauth. One was submitted to me through email. I immediately caught an error where they tried to preauth one of my teeth twice. I immediately called them to let them know. They submitted a partial update to me which I thought was done carelessly. There also weren't any clinical notes included on it. I called my insurance company about 2 weeks later and they stated they had not received anything. After 2 months and many phone and calls a couple of 3 way conversations between the dental office, insurance company and me, the dentist office said they were resubmitting it. The insurance company never received it. Again I contacted the dental office. I spoke with someone who said my case was priority and she knew all about it and would look into and call me the next day. A little after 4pm I called again as it was Friday and didn't want it to go until Monday. When I asked for the same person I was placed on hold for about 15 minutes, someone else came onto the line and told me the office manager was looking into it and unfortunately was out of the office on a family emergency. I waited until the following Tuesday. Now I was told they had no idea that my insurance was no longer accepted at this office. Mind you, this is approximately 2 1/2 months from my original appointment! There so much more I can't even go into all the detail without getting mad. If could give them a minus 5 I would. BTW, I asked to speak to the dentist and no way were they going to let me. I believe the front office staff have absolutely no idea what they are doing and definitely have absolutely no compassion, care, or real concern for any patient. Window dressing is all they are, as I don't believe anything they said. Worthless employees!!!

Unfortunately, my recent experience was disappointing due to billing/insurance. Prior to my most recent visits, I would call to make an appointment and no one would answer, I finally left a voicemail and the call was returned days later. During my last visit for a cleaning, I scheduled a major procedure for the following weeks and specifically requested that a copy of the cost estimate be emailed to me. The email was never sent. I later received a text to confirm the upcoming appointment and replied asking for someone to call me. No one did. I then called the office myself and left a message. When my call was eventually returned, I again asked about the estimate and clearly requested that it be emailed to me. I still never received it, it was only verbally provided. After switching insurance plans, I discovered that Dr. Ocampo is no longer in-network with my current insurance, which explained the very high estimate I was quoted. I compared costs with in-network providers and found a significant difference. Had I not followed up on my own and requested the estimate, I could have unknowingly paid a large out-of-network cost. I called back to confirm and was extremely disappointed in the woman's response and tone. While I continue to have the utmost respect for Dr. Ocampo, the lack of communication and follow-through regarding billing and insurance information is concerning. Music is always playing in the background and you never know what style it will be. Dr J is usually singing along to the music or telling dad jokes that make you relax. Liz and Linda are amazing and I love listening to their banter back and forth with Dr J. Recently I broke the front off of one of my front teeth on a Saturday and he arranged to meet me the next morning to do a temporary thing so that I didn't have to go to church with a big gap when I talked or smiled. Linda even came in to help on her way to church even. Not a lot of dentists would do that for you.
